Ok so let me start off by saying, if you want an amazing dentist office, then you need to come to Newcastle Dentistry. My husband was scheduled for 4.5 hours and needed quite a bit of work. Well, between Dr Strange and his assistant, and the rest of the friendly staff that just come to say hi and check in, thank you for another amazing experience. To the patient next to my husband, who came in immediately complaining to the hygienist about being 10-15 minutes late,stating that because they were running 10 minutes behind, YOU were going to be late for your next appt. I would like to say to you, that if you are reading this, and it was you at Newcastle Dentistry, it's not fair for you to treat the staff so poorly. People need to realize, things don't always work out where EVERYTHING is on time and by NO MEANS does any dentist office or medical office for that matter, have only one patient and everything runs smoothly. It just doesn't happen. The Hygienist was so kind and patient with you but most of all, the MOST professional but you still treated her terribly. So to the hygienist, I don't know your name but I apologize for this lady and the way she acted. Stay amazing! I have worked in the medical field for 23 years and because I cannot speak up for myself when patients get upset with my place of employment, I will speak up for the staff, at Newcastle Dentistry. Next time you come to an appt and you are that upset, maybe you should just reschedule, rather than go off on someone who is only trying to do their job, because emergencies happen and things come up and just because you have an appt time, that is an ESTIMATE. Next time you are running 10 minutes late because of things out of your control, maybe they should just tell you that your appt has been cancelled. They don't get paid for you to go off on them and do NOT deserve that type of treatment. So next time, think before you speak, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all and lastly... TREAT OTHERS HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED!!!!! read more

I'm on the hunt for a new dentist after my last dental experience left me with an infected mouth. I thought I would give Newcastle Dentistry a try. Bluntly I found Newcastle Dentistry warm and cold. Dr. Rosanna and her dental assistant were the warm aspects. I thought they were great for the little time they saw me. I was a bit surprised to find their x-ray machine was a bit inadequate. The last office I went to was able to x-ray all my teeth. This one's machine was unable to. The dental hygienist was cold. At first she was friendly, even complimented my teeth, but then seemed to become very irritated when I told her I rarely flossed. She went from friendly conversation to being very short and snappish. I also didn't care for the layout. It basically is the assembly line format - a line of chairs separated by dividers. I could hear everything going on around me, all the drilling, all the motors whirling. It did not comfort me. Upon checking out I was reminded how much I missed my old dental office's office staff. They weren't great at anything else but I always left with a cheery goodbye. The receptionist here barely said two words and it was enough that I opted not to schedule a follow up appointment. read more

I am dentist-avoidant. I went 5 years between my last dental appointment and when I saw Dr. Bishai to get my teeth cleaned/X-Rays. Unsurprisingly, I had a host of problems, but not really anything serious. She could have upsold me into getting unnecessary dental work done (it has happened before- hence the change in dentists), but she didn't. She is kind and gentle with her touch- she is also non-judgmental. I even referred my dentist-phobic best friend to her, and she is in love! My friend needs sedation for dental work, and Dr. Bishai was able to accommodate her needs. If you look through the reviews, many of the negative reviews happened with Dr. Strange, or with the billing department. I have never had a billing issue with the office. As for Dr. Strange, he filled a cavity for me once. He is very much a dentist, he does an amazing job. He just isn't much for chit-chat. I believe that the lack of small talk is why he can come off as cold or clinical to other patients. Overall, I highly recommend this office. My family has been going there for years and we've recently decided to find a new dentist. First, the staff has always been wonderful. They've always been great with our young children. Our biggest gripe has been their billing. On multiple occasions they've given us estimates and when we get the bill it's been off by hundreds of dollars. It would've been fine if it was within a hundred dollars but when it a $900 difference on one occasion I'm left wondering if that's a scheme they often use to make $? We've called on these mistakes and nothing ever was done. We just paid our bills but do not ever plan to return. read more

My family and I have been going to Newcastle Dentistry for over 15 years with Dr. Strange and it has been a great relationship with very caring and compassionate staff, hygienists and office assistants. However, their new policy of charging for missed appointments regardless of circumstances is excessively punitive and callous. I can understand being charged if you completely forget about an appointment, but I called and let them know that despite giving myself plenty of time, I would be late because there was a major blocking incident on the highway. This new charge is indicative of a change in attitude. My family and I will be going somewhere else in the future. read more

I picked Newcastle Dentistry for my daughter when she outgrew her pediatric dentist because it's close to our home and the reviews are overall great. My daughter had her teeth cleaned, followed by fillings of two small cavities. Months later, we were surprised to get bills of several hundred dollars for her cleaning and fillings. We have insurance from Microsoft, which is one of the best. It turns out Newcastle Dentistry is not in the network. I feel they should have been more honest and let us know when I first made the appointment and provided our insurance information. They also charged much higher for the fillings than the estimate. Anyway, we're certainly not going back to Newcastle Dentistry. read more

I appreciate that they are always very informative when it comes to what insurance will cover and what they won't and if something is unexpectedly not covered they really do their best to get insurance to cover it. Talk about stumbling across a diamond along so many stone. Dentist, doctors and even your regular grocery store. These common necessities are always left in the background and never get time to shine for great service. So a little background you name the cavity I had it. I didn't go to a dentist for several years because I'm terrified of dentists more than the average joe. I started coming here because an old coworker referred me and let me tell you I'm happy she did. Firstly, the absolute WORSE quality to have for a dentist or doctors office is to have a pushy front desk. Not only is Kelsey and the other front desk staff great and friendly but they don't push. Any work on your teeth can, well in my case, be so expensive! So it's hard to find a front desk that isn't too pushy and is willing to work with you! Also they have a great system where the text and email to give you reminders of your appointment. Super handy if you are anything like me and forget when your appointment is. Now on to the meat and potatoes of the review. So Dr Bishai is amazing. You can call her a miracle worker for sure. She is so quick with fillings it's honestly insane. Not only is so fast she is great at what she does. Another thing I love about getting work done by her is she is very personable. There is nothing more I like to avoid like a dentist that freaks me out. She makes me feel comfortable and always answers my outrageous questions. Strange indeed. I did not like this place at all! The last appointment I had, I was scheduled to have a teeth cleaning, but they had scheduled it only days after I had an implant put in. Three days prior I tried to call them, but they have three day break. So on Monday morning I all them to tell them that I've been trying to reach them for days and that of course I can't have cleaning when I have stitches in my mouth. The scheduling conflict was their fault, but I still made every attempt to contact them. They still charged me $75 for missing the appointment, and the doctor was VERY rude about it. I immediately moved to a new dentist. The only positive thing I can say is they have lots of nice fish tanks. read more

Dr. Strange and his staff are incredible. As someone who has had terrible experiences at dentists offices before, this was most certainly not one of them. Huge thank you to: -Jody & Xenia who signed me in, you are helpful and friendly as can be. -Tanya who is the X-ray queen and kept me comfortable and smiling the whole way through the visit. -Tammy (Hygienist) you are very gentle and take great care while cleaning the ol' chompers. -Dr. Strange was great. When he first came in the room to meet me, I was laid back in the chair and he made it a point to bring me back up so he could look me in the eye, shake my hand, and introduce himself. I thought that very professional. He went over my X-rays with me and explained what it is he looks for to keep my teeth in the best shape possible. This is my third dentist since moving to Seattle in the late 1980s. I am extremely pleased with the level of care received and am very thankful that I chose this practice to provide me with dental services. As they say, third time's the charm! Newcastle Dentistry did a lot of much needed work on my teeth from late 2011 through early 2012, and in my opinion it was money well spent. I think the thing that impressed me most was the attention to detail spent making the temporary crowns. As a person who has had rough temporary crowns which did not fit all that well in the past, I can tell you first hand what an improvement it was to have good temporary crowns. Theirs were absolutely awesome! Further, anyone willing to spend that much time on temporaries is also clearly willing to spend that much time on their permanent replacements. But enough about that. For the first time in many years, *all* of my teeth feel great. What more is there to say? read more

I highly recommend Dr. Bishai and the Newcastle Dentistry office. I have not had a consistent dentist and had gone to various ones throughout the past 10 years. Their office by far has been the best experience I have had. I love the text reminders for my appointment, the consistency and friendliness of the staff and the most important thing, the work that Dr. Bishai has done on my teeth. She replaced a filling that a previous dentist had done poorly and made it so much better. I also had two crowns replaced with no problems and with no pain. They even accommodated me when I had car trouble on my way to their office and got me in the same day with another appointment. I left a dentist that I had been going to since my first dentist appointment. They gradually got more and more unprofessional. Really late for appointments, scheduled me for three in a year instead of two then tried to force me to pay out of pocket....etc. That being said, I LOVE THIS PLACE. My hygenist Lisa is awesome, she has great attention to detail, she's the best person I've ever had clean my teeth. And Dr. Bishai is freaking awesome also. She is young, but she definitely knows what she's doing. The office is beautiful and new. In some of the rooms there are views of the trees and if you go on a very windy day, it's very relaxing to watch the trees sway back and forth. Came here a while back when living in the area and took my kid to see Dr. Lee. Everyone else in the office seemed nice. Wasn't so impressed with Dr. Lee's manners. He seemed like he was in a rush and in addition felt like he needed to lecture me about my kid's dental hygiene on my first visit with a 1.5 year old before looking in her mouth. This clinic may be a better fit for adult dentistry but, I'm a little less hesitant to recommend this place for kids. Perhaps Dr Lee maybe a better fit with older kids? Or, maybe he was having a bad day. When you care for a child in any health setting you're also supposed to have good bedside manners. Especially on the first visit! read more

Dr.Strange changed my life. From the front desk administrators to the assistants and hygienists, all of the staff have been welcoming, professional, informative and supportive. My first visit, I explained the extreme trauma suffered from my childhood dental experiences in the early 1970's. That trauma followed me my entire life causing me to avoid dental work at all costs. He reassured me, I was in good care. After performing a thorough inspection, a step by step plan was made to get me to my goal of having a healthy, happy smile: removing my wisdom teeth, a deep cleaning, a crown, a root canal and another crown. My teeth are now ready for my next step, straightening. On the day my wisdom teeth extraction was scheduled, it snowed. Even with the reduced staff, they made sure to get me in and done without skipping a beat. After 48 years with wisdom teeth, without them chewing food is a whole new experience. I realized the teeth in the back of my mouth have been smashing together preventing me from normally chewing my food. First off, I would give 5 stars, but since I cannot stand going to the dentist, it's getting 4 stars. (I was the type of child who cried, screamed and bit the dentist's finger on purpose because I didn't want to be there.) I went to Newcastle Dentistry for the first time last week. It was a pleasant experience as far as dentist visits can go. The staff is very nice and friendly. It looks like the office and equipment are brand new. Very clean. Due to the bus schedule (the bus stops almost directly in front of the building, super convenient), I arrived about 25 minutes early for my appointment. I figured I'd have to wait around until 2:00pm, but as soon as I sat down and started watching the fish in their giant aquarium I was called in to the back. The hygienist was super nice. First time patients usually get x-rays and consultation, and then have to go back for the cleaning. They were a little slow so I was thankfully able to get my teeth cleaned as well. You have a nice view of trees when sitting in the chairs. Which is a nice change of pace from my previous dental office visits which was staring a wall with outdated artwork. Anyway, Dr. Strange was also friendly. They seemed pretty high-tech. He took images of my teeth to show me what he was referring to. Unfortunately, I need to go back to have 10 teeth worked on, because I have "deep pits" and need to fill them before something major happens. Really not looking forward to that. read more

I love this dental office. It was a bit slow going at first but Jill was my DH and she is amazing and honest. It's always been important to me to have a good DH because my teeth are sensitive and cleanings can be tough for me. My eyes water and it's just painful. She used topical to give me a little numbing and praised me on how well I take care of my teeth (also nice to hear from your DH). When I met Dr. Strange he was upfront about futuristic treatments and I felt he was genuinely interested in my dental work. He was well informed and knowledgeable and I loved that the issues with my teeth was never blamed on me. It's always hard to hear you aren't taking good care of yourself when you feel you do, so...having a doctor explain exactly why things are the way they are in a logical way instead of making me feel bad was awesome. read more

All I can say is wow. This dental office is one of the best offices I have ever gone to. DR strange and DR Bishai are amazing. So professional and great bedside manner. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. I've had my teeth cleaned by Lisa S and Jill whom are so professional and nice. All the hygienist's are also very nice. Front desk is also very sweet and is very Helpful with scheduling and helping with understanding insurance. My 3 year old daughter also sees Dr lee the pediatric dentist and he is awesome with her. My family have been patients of this business about 14 years since they were Quality Dental, and have endured the ups and downs of staff changes. My son started there as a small child. We moved out of the area quite a few years ago. Traffic and the commute has gotten much worse. We left early enough with school and work (at least what used to be adequate.) We arrived 15 minutes late after calling and telling them we were stuck in traffic (beyond our control), and after a long day of work. The staff just said without a smile that they have to reschedule you--not taking into account traffic and our length of loyalty. I was not happy as how quick we were told we had to reschedule after driving all that time. I said we were thinking about getting a new dentist closer to home. The receptionist just said without a care, let us know when you get a new dentist so we can transfer records. I am with a large company that does international business. We value customers and long term relationships but apparently that is not the case with our ex-dentist. Not flexible, open-minded. Good way to lose patients. When they were Quality Dental across the street, the staff overall was better. Now it is a nicer office but I wonder if they scarified their roots. Any recommendations for a good dentist near Issaquah, WA? P.S. I noticed many of their reviews on pages are almost excellent but anonymous? Staff, dentist? Stuffing the ballot box. I remember before when they wanted to be rated #1 dentistry on some TV show, but I kept seeing mistakes and errors but yet they wanted to rated the top dental office in area. The doctor would be OK if would not be for his billing practices. They fail to send you bills on time. Then they will send you a bill with no explanation of the procedure so it can not be used for your reimbursement and then they stick the finance charges before you know it. ...or yes, and the front desk staff is not the most polite in the world. read more
