***UPDATE*** Since the rains in November and December of 2019, just 2 months after the completion of our project, we have a large sunken area in our front yard where Fermin and his guys had to dig to route the sewer. Additionally the soil has washed away under the sidewalk where the sewer pipe had to be laid. My husband has texted Fermin several times and I messaged on Dec 21, all with no reply. We were trying to give him the benefit of the doubt of maybe being out of the country for the holidays, but still he hasn't responded at all to us reaching out. We now need to hire another contractor to come in and see if there is any damage where the soil sank, and if not, fill in the sink hole. If there is damage, I'm assuming the fix will be at our cost, as Fermin appears to be unreachable. Very disappointing.... This was our review at the completion of our project, but we've since discovered that this company is not reachable to stand behind their work. We interviewed many contractors for our home addition which was to include a bedroom, a bathroom, and living space, and decided on AML Leon Construction due to his willingness to work with our budget and our input. The project began on time and Fermin's guys were always polite, happy, respectful, clean, and trustworthy. The project ran smoothly with a few variances here and there that were dealt with professionally. We did a couple of add ons during the project which included a concrete patio area outside the addition with slopes and drains for proper drainage. Fermin and his team were a delight to work with from start to finish. They were very cautious of the fact that we have many pets that needed to be kept inside and let us know in advance when they would need access to where the animals were. All city inspections were completed in a timely way and we had no problems with any of them. The workmanship Fermin and his team executed on our home and property is fantastic and everything looks better than we had envisioned. We couldn't be happier with our project and our relationship with Fermin and the team and would hire them again in a heartbeat! read more

We have been working with Fermin and his crew first as a sub-contractor and recently as the prime contractor for additional work. The work and detail of the work itself was not to let anything stay to question and insure it is completed 100%! We remodeled our late 1950s home recently to update our kitchen and bathroom. Fermin and his crew were integral to making our remodel happen. They were on time every day. They worked the job until that day's work was done. Over the course of our remodel, Fermin and his crew: 1) Demoed our kitchen (cabinets, appliances, flooring) and bathroom (sink, tub, toilet, flooring) down to the studs, keeping the mess to a minimum. 2) Removed and replaced attic insulation during our hotter-than-hot summer. 3) Removed a load-bearing wall and replaced it with a 17' beam - no small feat. 4) Demoed lots and lots of stucco so that outdated windows and a patio door could be replaced. 5) Installed new windows and a new patio door. We had considerable damage to our office building when a motor vehicle lost control and struck the building. AML Leon Construction saved the day! This was a complex repair because it involved framing, stucco, lath, drywall, paint, baseboard, and City inspections. Their repair was prompt , excellent, and professional. AML Leon enclosed two patio areas in our home. This involved removing the existing concrete flooring and replacing it with concrete level with the floor in the home and installing footers for the new walls. A roof and ceiling were added to one area and a new roof was installed over the entire structure. A fireplace was framed in and placed properly. Windows, drywall, insulation and stucco were placed on the newly built walls. Plumbing and electrical work was done as needed. All inspections were passed with no corrections needed. The men were courteous and worked long hours in the heat of the summer. The site was cleaned up daily. Fermin was on site daily to check progress and provide directions. These guys are the real deal and know what they are doing. We give them our highest recommendation. read more

Beware of shoddy workmanship. Current contractor license is suspended. I checked the site, interviewed owner and staff and felt AML Construction company was qualified. I did not give review when bath remodel job completed last year due to several bid revisions which had differing amounts and descriptions. It appeared at completion that job was done in Workman like manner. However, plumbing not installed correctly, causing water damage to part of wall and flooring. Contractor offered to have a look, but under our management contract only licensed contractors can provide services. Very disappointed. read more

We needed a drain at the end of the drive way to stop water from flooding in to our garage because our driveway slopes down to the house. There was also some stucco and wall damage that needed to be taken care of. We also needed a random window taken out and wood siding to be put up. AML Leon Construction did a wonderful job. All the employees were very nice and professional. Like all construction work on older houses once construction starts you usually run in to a situation of needing more work done then anticipated. But Leon Construction made us feel conformable and explained the reason for whatever else needed to be done they gave us other options for the extra fixes but in the long run we wanted to do things the best way. We trust the work that Leon Construction did on the house and we will certainly use them again for the rest of the work that we need to get done, we definitely would recommend Leon Construction to anyone who needs work done on there house. My wife and I recently bought a house in San Marcos, CA and we had AML Leon construction come and bid on a loft addition and other work we wanted done (4 projects in all, but the loft was the largest of the projects). They came in and I was immediately comfortable with them as we walked through the house talking about the things we wanted done. They asked all the right questions and made sure to get a full scope of the projects and then came back a couple days later with a bid. It wasn't the cheapest, and it wasn't the most expensive of the 4 bids we received, but it was detailed enough for us to make sure we weren't forgetting anything. We selected them, they came out a couple weeks later and completed the work with extreme professionalism and on time. We even changed up a couple things in the middle and they handled those changes within the previously agreed upon timelines. They were courteous throughout the process, and really explained the process when I had questions (which was often). I would recommend them to anyone who is thinking about remodeling their home, and I will most definitely use them in the future. read more
