Ordered to go food, got no silverware so instead of eating my food while it was warm, had to wait an hour until I got home to actually eat it. Ordered it with no sour cream, but it was covered with sour cream. Tried to order my enchiladas with ground beef and was given chicken. Completely disappointed and not worth the money at all. I order the fagitas and for 16.95 it seems it would have been better even the peppers and onions didn't cover the little cast iron plate. And it did not taste like Mexican food. Best posole in town!! Creamy chicken enchiladas are delicious. Actually I love everything I've ever ordered here. And the staff is friendly.

Best chili verde in the valley! I do think it's ridiculous that they charge fir chips abs salsa on to go orders but the verde is worth it.

This is a friendly neighborhood spot. The menu is small, but everything is nicely made. I don't like that the left half of the menu is only available on weekend breakfasts - I love huevos rancheros and the ilk - but I can't have them at lunch. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Their carne asada is excellent - well seasoned and just the right chew. When it came out, it looked overly thick, but it was just fine. Sopes are quite good. I guess what stops me is that the menu isn't inviting - I had a hard time finding something to order that sounded interesting. I will have to try the creamy chicken enchiladas since they get such good review. This is a good place and has a lot of loyal customers! Service is friendly and I do recommend them. read more

Leon's is tucked into an older, busy strip mall (with the decor to match) but don't let that stop you from dropping in. The service can be slow but they take care of you nonetheless. We've gone here regularly for so long now though that I kind of find these things charming. The food delivers! It's authentic, smothered, and savory. I can rarely bring myself to stray from the creamy chicken enchiladas. They are rich and spicy and baked to perfection. When I do stray, it's to the chicken sopas. The sopa is thick and perfectly cooked, and they're topped with rich queso fresco. Best of all, Leon, or who we've assumed is Leon for years now (maybe we should confirm that, ha!) only emerges from the back of the restaurant to mix up and deliver the best, most balanced margaritas. I've been to many Mexican places in GJ and in my opinion nothing competes with Leon's. By far the best! read more

Honestly worst service I've had. I'm a server, so I get it. She brought out burrito not smothered. Went back to get green chili, 12 minutes later food was cold. Really had high hopes for this place its one pf those tucked away places that doesn't scream chain restaurant. So I ordered the creamy enchiladas, they are the same price as thier Monster burrito, which takes up an entire platter in the menu picture. So at this point I am think alright left overs for later. Guy brings my order which has two tinny enchildas in a small bowl served on the gigantic platter that the burrito is served on. How small was this gigantically priced enchilada bowl you ask? The people next to me had a toddler and actually thought my waiter put his meal on the wrong table. Taste was ehhhh and I think they had chopped up pickled jalepnos in the chicken, which gave it a funky taste. Lesson learned nothing but qudoba the rest of my stay in Grand Junction read more

We were charged $1.50 for extra salsa because their salsa bowls are too small even though we ordered tacos and that should be standard. Price is too high compared to quality of the food. Very good authentic Mexican food. I recommend the chile rellenos, the Camarones ala Diabla, and the best Posole I have ever tasted.

Love me some Leon's quality Mexican food at a steal! Homemade chips and salsa are top notch. Highly recommend:)

I have been here a few times with co-workers. Each time the food and service has been very slow. Granted we were in a large group. However, every single time I have been there, my order (nothing out of the usual) has come out either 10-15 minutes after everyone else in my party, or it has come out wrong. The food is covered in cheese and is greasy, and it seems that little is fresh. The decor is awful and the carpet on the floor is disgusting. It smells funky when you walk in. I just don't join my co workers anymore when they go there. There are many better places for fresh, authentic Mexican food in Grand Junction. Don't settle for this place. read more
