Wow!! We are in town for a music festival and wanted some good Mexican food on our way out of town. We found this place online and could not have been more impressed. We've been to many Mexican restaurants and this is definitely our favorite. My partner got the 1/4 chicken meal and it was easily the most flavorful and well cooked chicken I've ever had. I got the carne asada and pork tacos which were both perfectly cooked and delicious. The rice and beans were also amazing. The service was polite, helpful, and fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We chose to eat inside on a hot day and it was cool with some good music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If we didn't live four hours away we would be back weekly, definitely give this place a try!!

Meh- got the whole meal + tortillas + rice and beans ok -dry chicken and not very flavorful- absolutely nothing special -they failed to put salsa in bag and we discovered this when we got back to our Airbnb so we were out of luck Needed salsas, hot sauce and avocado/ guacamole to even make it palatable but this is not included in the meal -I don't understand the rave reviews- I would never come here again read more

Needed some food after finishing work and heading to Denver. Decided to give this place a try and now will absolutely fight anyone who says a bad thing about this place. I got a to go order of the 1/4 chicken plate. The chicken was probably the best I've ever had. The sides were also excellent. Good food but a little plain for me. Staff seemed all native-born Latinos. That's a good sign! But alas, if you are used to Mexican restaurants by Mexicans for Mexicans that white folks are free to enjoy, this isn't it. It's like they decided to not be a regular Mexican restaurant with standard American recipes, but then left out the critical herbs and spices. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Grand Junction. I have work out here every once and a while and I always must stop here after work for a bite to eat. I walked up to the window where you had to place your order with the hostess, but this time was different. She popped her head out and stated come on in and we will take your order. I was like OMG we finally back to normal LOL. I remember the last time I was here; you couldn't go inside because of covid but this time in 2022, we were pandemic free with no COVID rules! Being inside for the first time, I was amazed at how clean the restaurant was and how the place had a few tables in there if you wanted to sit down and eat or wait for your order while they made your order to go. I was greeted by the hostess, and she was very nice and attentive in explaining the menu and taking my order. I proceeded to order the Half Chicken Combo which comes with Beans and Rice. My partner didn't come with me, so I ordered the 3 tacos meal that comes with Beans and Rice plus 2 more tacos on the side for a total of five. (Two Al Pastor, two Carne Asada, and 1 pollo taco). The wait for the food was around 10 minutes but once the food was ready, we realized it was worth the wait! Once we received our food, the smell was overbearing, OVERBEARING WITH SMELLS OF JOY! The taste of the chicken was so yummy, full of juices, and flavored to perfection. The chicken was very tender, and I enjoyed every bite. The beans and rice, I ate so fast all I remember about the experience was the fact that I was upset that I didn't order more. I was like Did I EVEN CHEW?!?!? I had to pass on my tacos because they had onions on them, but she ate three of the tacos before we even left the Grand Junction Area. It was her second time eating at Pollo Azado but doesn't remember eating there the first time because she says the tacos were that goood! This time around she was able to enjoy them fully. My partner said that there was so much flavor in every bite. The tortilla even had a nice little crunch that just added to how good the tacos were with the flavor being tasteful. This is one the go to spots in Grand Junction. The funny thing about the entire experience is that she is not a fan of chicken tacos at all but that was her favorite taco! We will be returning to this spot in the future when we are back in Grand Junction! read more

So, this place has been around for awhile and we've driven by it a lot. When we were deciding on dinner, we knew we didn't necessarily want to dine in but also didn't want fast food. Then my hubby thought, "Pollo Azado"! We gave it a try and so glad we did!!! Covid: they have a walk up window. You can place an order also and pick up at the same window. I'm not sure if the dining room is open. The staff is all wearing masks. My husband got half a chicken which comes with four tortilla, rice, and beans. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned. Plenty of food, too! I ordered the chicken (pollo) taco and two carne asada tacos. Wow! The crane asada was melt in my mouth delicious! Such awesome flavors. The pollo taco was good. I think it lacked the flavor or seasoning that was found on my husband's half chicken. That being said, the chicken is great quality and plentiful. MUST a order an agua de pina!!! So refreshing! Through magic they imbue that signature flavor all the way through the chicken. I've never been able to get the flavors I've wanted through my chicken. They have mastered this! Bravo! The whole beans are lush, the Mexican rice is light and fluffy. The corn and flour tortillas are soft and fragrant. Call ahead. Drop in and pick up heaven. Nicely priced. Super friendly owner. We stopped for a meal on the way to Moab from Denver. I had the half chicken dinner and my wife had tacos. My only regret was that I didn't order the whole chicken and end up with more leftovers. The man that told us to visit here actually told of us this, and we saw it in action. We had to tap out after a day of wine tasting. Our party of 4 ordered the Oaxacan, Carne Asada, Bomb Ass Fish Taco, and Pork Carnitas. I would rank them in that order too from best to least best (none were bad, but the pork carnita felt a little dry as the overall consensus of the table). The Poblano fries were amazing. They tasted truly fresh and right off the fryer. It comes with 5. Loved the aioli and salsa too. Lastly, they had a house made pineapple habanero hot sauce that was AMAZING! Service was kind, attentive, and no complaints.

Great Food and great prices. We eat crazy chicken for lunch and dinner. Pickup is convenient during the week for a healthy work lunch and my family likes to eat dinner there.
