I was really excited to go thrifting at a few shops around Austin while we're in town, but unfortunately this experience completely changed that. If you have young kids, I wouldn't recommend bringing them here. As soon as we walked in, my two-year-old accidentally stepped in front of the employee, and her reaction was surprisingly rude. She immediately told me she was overstimulated and doesn't like kids in the store. She said he could sit on the couch but wasn't allowed to walk around. I understand setting boundaries if a child is being disruptive, but we had literally just walked in, and he wasn't misbehaving.... just being a toddler. I explained that he's only two and it's not realistic to expect him to sit still the entire time. After that, she gave me a dirty look and continued to stare at us while I tried to shop, even though I kept him right by my side the whole time. In the end, we decided not to spend our money somewhere that made us feel so unwelcome. It was disappointing, especially since we were looking forward to supporting local shops. Just a heads up for other parents this may not be the most kid-friendly place, and you might not feel comfortable shopping there with little ones. read more

You cannot be confused that you are in the Leopard Lounge as there are leopard prints on the floor inside and out. In addition, there is an entire section of the store dedicated to animal prints. This somewhat large store has clothing shoes and accessories as well as being a sister store to Pavement. The Leopard Lounge also have ornate chandeliers and furnishings. According to staff a large portion of their customer base is the University of Texas at Austin students. The prices in Leopard lounge are affordable. read more

Nice, but kinda small and very close to several other thrift shops which means you have a ton of variety all in walking distance. Super clean and the ambiance is great. Parking lot is tiny and a little difficult to get in and out of since it's just spots practically right along the street. This is the shop where you'll find quality, and you'll pay a bit of a premium for it. Definitely the spot to check out if you're looking for some higher end pieces for your outfits. Think less about casual jeans and more fitted pants, cropped jackets, fringed outerwear, and leather accessories. Oh and several of those cute novelty sunglasses that I seem to keep seeing everywhere. Staff is sooooo nice! According to other reviewers you need an appointment to sell, but I don't know anything else about that side of the business. Pop in if you're in the area. read more

The first thing you notice about this place is that parking is limited. They've really gone out of their way to merchandise and display their wares. Inside you'll find lots of concert T-shirts, tons of vintage clothing which includes a large selection of high school letter jackets. They do buy vintage clothing, however, they require an appointment. It's unlikely they'll see you the same day so expect an appointment the following week. The irony, is that there is a buffalo exchange store 100 feet away on the same side of the street which will buy from walk-ins. read more

Prices are a little higher than I would have expected. Picked up a couple of items I would consider and there was a tear on a blouse and the crotch seam of a jeans unraveled. Kept looking and the employee stopped by and said they did not allow bags in the store and could they lock it up at the front. I left as I was not handing over my "personal item" bag to a stranger. Was visiting the book festival next and this was my bag for the day. No signs about the bags but I left and won't be back. read more

I felt so SUPPORTED by this staff. My weight has been doing crazy things lately and so I truly don't know what size I am in pants and this person Sydney helped me out so hardcore. She said "everyone deserves to feel snatched" and just got so excited for me when I found not one BUT TWO pairs of jeans that ACTUALLY FIT (im silly short as well so jeans almost always have to be hemmed but not these!) I am so very grateful for Sydney and her co-closer. They made me feel so pretty and seen. It meant a lot to me! 10/10 would recommend. I had been in Leopard Lounge in Houston before but I walked in here and it had a really distinct style that was exciting and a bit intimidating. Once I spoke to an employee though they gave me a rundown of where to look and others chimed in to give me tips and tell me why things were higher priced in a non-judgey way. They don't take themselves too seriously and It's like walking into an antique store turned up to 11 in the best way, Just be prepared to spend time and money.
