Okay. Who doesn't love a good coney dog? But I've never had a coney dog from here. I usually get the gyro with the mini Greek salad. The gyros are always pretty good. Meat is tender, yet has consistency to it. The pita bread is great. Service is usually pretty good. However, I had to use the restroom on this occasion, and stumbled upon this scene in the men's bathroom. I was completely disgusted. Unfortunately it seems to be a pattern at restaurants in Lapeer, for whatever reason. Blindfish is the same exact way. These photos are not meant to be mean, these are factual pictures of this place and it's unbelievable that no one makes sure these things are cleaned up and it is presented in a positive manner. Where on earth is management? I am not sure I'll be back to this restaurant, knowing their cleaning habits. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. read more

The office I work in has ordered from here almost daily for several months. Food is decent (to several of our office staff, only reason we continued to order) But WHY IS IT THAT EVERY TIME WE HAVE ORDERED THEY FORGET AN ENTIRE MEAL and then when we call to let them know they pretty much call is liars? We make good money and don't need to "steal" a $3.00 meal. Staff is rude and yesterday we finally finally hit rock bottom and will not be ordering again. Ever. Picked up a carry out. Got home and found that the stir fry was half the size it usually is. We called to talk to a manager. The manager told us to come back in and they would make it right. Next day picked up the carry out "make up" order. Not only was it tiny, 2/3 empty container but the employees were very rude as well. Screw this place! American food here was quite good they really have that down. Unfortunately their idea of Greek food is an atrocity. I could literally feel my inner Trump coming out as I ate this whitewashed version of what was supposed to be Greek food. The chicken gyro comprised of: super dry chicken, burnt pita and their idea of toppings was normal lettuce and tomatoes. WTF man. They didn't even have any garlic sauce for hummus to go along with it. I know it was a busy day, but came back for breakfast. Took 15 minutes to be serviced. Used to love this place but it's going to crap. Half assed staff starting with the carry out girl. Don't ask to replace your bread with lettuce or any other inquiries to meet your dietary guidelines or she will get huffy and puffy because her job becomes too hard at that point. There was a bug in my boyfriends coffee, so they gave us "10%" which is the price of a coffee haha. my boyfriend asked for another coffee and they still charged us for a coffee when it should've been on the house since there's no way they made a fresh pot. regardless there was a bug in it. so essentially there was zero accommodation for the bug. at the end i asked the manager to just completely take the coffee out since there was a BUG in it, so they proceeded to take off the 10% and the coffee. so it ended up being the same exact price both ways. ridiculous management who doesn't listen to words coming out of mouths read more

***BEWARE OF HOW TO ORDER SPECIALS FROM THE BOARD AS IT IS DECEIVING***Went for breakfast this morning with the grandkids. There was a breakfast special on the board with eggs, meat, toast and hash browns for 5.99. Ordered 2 of the special realized when I got home I was charged $16.38 instead of $11.98. Called and spoke with the manager she explained to me that I must not have specified that I wanted the $5.99 special so they must have given me the #1 special. I asked the manager how would a customer know that they had to specify what special they wanted. She informed me the menu has breakfast specials 1-5. I did not specify I wanted the number one special nor did my server ask me to specify. She said she wasn't there so she didn't know, so she put the server on the phone. The server explained to me that the 5.99 special was with no drink, so if you ordered a drink you couldn't get the 5.99 special. I asked if it specifies this on the sign. My server Hannah was exceptional, friendly, prompt with service and checking our table when I was there. I'm unsure why a manager would not handle the issue and put it on a server to explain. There was a FLY cooked INSIDE my waffle. Meaning that it was in the batter then cooked and served (not like it just landed on it for a second). When letting the waitress know about it she was very nice and understanding and took the plate away. My family and I definitely lost our appetite at that point. No manager or cook ever came to discuss it or apologize.To "fix" the problem they gave a stack of coupons to the waitress to give us. After we left we noticed the coupons had been expired since 2015! The service was good. Lori took good care of us. The food was good. However, they had placed salt in the sugar container, which caused me to put a lot of salt in my coffee. Not pleasant. Then they forgot to bring me a new cup of coffee. At the end we ordered a $5 carrot cake as we were celebrating a birthday. I asked if they would comp it due to the coffee issue, and they agreed, which I thought was a nice gesture. We got to the cashier, who was the manager (Monica), and she made a sny remark that she normally doesn't do this, she normally would give a discount. Okkkkk, everything was fine until the nasty remark. It wasn't necessary. You comped $5, but how much of a discount we're you thinking... $1 or $2 lol? Monica the manager needs to be taught some management skills. That remake is costing you future business, which is much more than the $3 you lost because of your staffs mess up. Typical Michigan style Coney Island restaurant. A mix of different food styles all prepared and served in a mediocre style. They have a huge variety of dishes that you can order. The problem is that it is impossible to make that many different dishes cooked to order. So it seems that the less popular dishes are premade and frozen (or something) and then reheated when you order it. So you get a dish that tastes like it was prepared long ago and reheated after you ordered it. Not so great flavor. The trick to eating at a coney island style restaurant in Michigan (or any restaurant anywhere for that matter) is to figure out what is made fresh. Or in other words, what their specialty is. I found that the chicken shish-kabobs are pretty decent here. I also learned a little secret about them, if you ask nicely for two skewers instead one, they will give you two for the price of one. My waitress said that they do this as courtesy for their loyal customers. The inside is typically loud and has an open floor plan that doesn't provide any kind of privacy of intimacy. This is usual of a coney island style diner so you shouldn't be surprised. On the outside, this Leo's is a little more on the skanky side than most. Recently when we were trying find a parking space that wasn't covered in a foot of snow, we noticed one of the most scariest looking kitchen staff people smoking what obviously wasn't a cigarette on the back steps. We also noticed an abandoned car parked by the nastiest garbage dumpster area I've seen since visiting Quatalahara Mexico. We even noticed several feral cats diving in and out of the dumpster right out back of the kitchen entrance. (Poor cats, just a note, if you don't want your pet anymore, DON'T just let them go, give them to someone who can care for them.) So enjoy your coney island experience a little more now that you know some of the secrets to success. read more

One of the rudest waitresses I have ever had. I understand we were a challenging table. But we treated you with respect the most you could do is treat us with respect. Sometimes people just have a bad day or a spilled drink or two. I am known for giving large tips as I waitressed for more then ten years. I know it's not an easy job. Seriously this was the first time I walked out without giving one. Treat people right and with respect. If I would have treated a customer like you treated me. I would have been fired. When the power went out a few weeks ago in a storm they refused to get a generator until their coolers were over 50 degrees and then refused to throw things away because "they'll cool down and refreeze". Absolutely disgusting how they run that place. I get they don't want to throw away money, but they should've thought of that when they first lost power. 3 of us dined last week. Club sandwich, spinach pie, cheeseburger,and fries. The food was ,except for the fries, was good. The fries were pasty white, grease laden, and luke warm at best. The problem was our server, had to make several requests for condiments, never checked us for refills, had to ask three times for carry out container. She was a total bust as a waitress. Other Leo's I've been to have been just fine start to finish. Not this one, not this time. Won't be going back to this location. One oddity, that to me, is borderline asinine. Awesome! Have only been to Lapeer, MI a few times before, but will return for no other reason than to eat at Leo's again. Had fish & chips that were great. Stopped by for a quick dinner after a late afternoon soccer game. Chose this place because its a local name brand and new looking building. Looks can be deceiving.... Very friendly young waitress immediately took our order. Daughter asked if kids mac and cheese is homemade or Kraft. Waitress told us homemade and its terrific. Wife got spinach pie and I got Greek salad. While we waited for food I went to restroom to wash my hands. It was so disgustingly gross!!! The stall in the men's room had fecal matter sprayed on seat and walls. There was paper and other debris on the floors. The place looked like it only gets a cleaning once a week. Food was a big disappointment on most fronts. Salad with gyro was eh. Spinach pie had too much dough and bland. Kids mac was a gross sauce and it was cold. We just ate a little of each and left. Went here for breakfast on Mother's day (5/10) I ordered a waffle with bacon (menu price 4.49) I did add topping to my waffle, but was surprised when my bill came and I was charged 4.99 for my waffle and 1.40 for the bacon. I was so excited to eat here. I'm from Phoenix and we don't have Leo's there. I went for breakfast on July 4th and ordered an omelette. My sister ordered an egg white omelette. We waited about 30 mins - which was fine. But when our food came it was all wrong. When we nicely told the young lady that it was wrong, she stormed away saying "oh my God" rather loudly. Then when the waitress came back over she asked if we would just accept the wrong order because they are busy... they didn't appear to be busy. We explained that due to dietary restrictions, we could not. I also told her that I didn't appreciate the other lady treating us that way. This waitress didn't apologise. Just reiterated that they were busy... they truly didn't appear to be busy. Our food finally came, and it was good. But I didn't appreciate being treated like an inconvenience. The truth of the matter is that I know what we ordered and we were very kind when asking for the proper items. Also, when you work in customer service, your job is to go above and beyond to a reasonable degree with a decent attitude. I hope that this review is reviewed by staff and in the future customers aren't treated like an inconvenience. I was disappointed. And frankly embarrassed. We traveled to a different Leo's for a different meal while on our vacation and it was amazing. read more
