Used this florist for a few years with no problems, but I placed an order to be delivered yesterday (Feb 13). Today is Feb 14th Valentines Day, of course and the flowers have still not been delivered. I understand the heavy volume during this time, however, I received no notice or notification from them that the delivery would be delayed. I have attempted to call them all day with no response and of course the voicemail is full. This is really ridiculous. I spent $170 on flowers to be delivered yesterday and theyre still not delivered today and I want a refund but they wont answer the phone to even address my concerns. What a horrible experience!!! If there were a negative star I would give them 5. Delivery was late, I ordered a bouquet in a beautiful vase for $99.99 for a memorial service, what I received was nothing like what I ordered. In fact, I could have gone to Jewel, bought 3 of their bouquets stuffed them into a blah vase and I would have saved myself about $66 and it would have prettier! The arrangement delivered was 1/3 the size of what I ordered, i was embarrassed to have my name on it! I would definitely think twice about ordering ANYTHING from this business!!! read more

My co-workers attempted to send me a sympathy plant in remembrance of my mother. Something that would last and remind me of her. First, I never received the plant. One of my co-workers asked me did I like the plant, and that is how I learned that one had allegedly been sent. After some complaining and discussion, Leo's did send out a plant immediately, large beautiful piece Lily . Unfortunately there was no card attached with a message from my co-workers and no care instructions. I received the plant on a Thursday, and watered it lightly on the following Tuesday, five days after receiving it because the leaves were begining to droop a bit and the soil was dry. On Thursday, I had brown leaves and some had holes in them. When we contacted Leos, we were told conclusively its water spots. No questions asked or discussion about it. No assistance offered, no guidance provided on what to do to try and save the plant, nothing. Wow, what "great" customer service; especially for a person who now has a dying plant that was "supposed" to have been a long lasting gift to commemorate a life that has been lost. For Leo's Metropolitan Flowers to be part of an industry that is designed to express the feelings of its customers through flowers and plants during a special time in their life, I must say Leo's missed the mark for us. I recently lost a sister in the City of Chicago. As an Atlanta area resident I knew nothing about florist in Chicago. A good friend who lived in Chicago recently referred this wonderful and caring florist to me. I have never been so pleased with arrangements and reactions to the arrangements from family and friends in Chicago. The delivery was timely in spite of horrible weather at the time ; the staff was most professional. Mark was very sympathetic and well as empathetic to my situation. I really cannot see how anyone would have a bad experience with this florist. The flowers were fresh and beautiful. The arrangements were over the top professional. I would advise anyone in need of floral arrangements of ANY type, use Leo's , as they have the staff and stock to completely satisfy your needs. I will forever recommend this florist and well as use them. If you have a bad experience with them, remember, you get more bees with honey than vinegar. Saturday, 2-26-11, was my fortieth wedding anniversary. My family had a big day planned which was to begin with the delivery of a floral arrangement that was to include a dozen red roses and stargazer lilies. This was arranged through 1-800-Flowers and was supposed to be a surprise. When my husband and I met with our family for dinner we were asked how we liked the flowers. What flowers? They had not been delivered by the time we left the house about 3:00pm. After a few calls to 1-800-Flowers we were told that Leo's tried to deliver but we were not home, so they left them with a neighbor. After returning home and retrieving the flowers I was very disappointed. I know a lot of money was spent and what was received was an amatuerish, almost childish arrangement of not a dozen roses but eleven and not stargazer lilies but just common ones. They were just placed in a square clear glass vase with no floral foam to keep them from flopping around. The arrangement received looked nothing like the picture on 1-800-Flowers. We were told that the delivery window was between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm. Who delivers flowers at 7:00pm? read more

I recently ordered and prepaid for a peace lily to be delivered to the funeral services for my former pastor. When I saw the plant among many, many, other peace lilies and fresh arrangements, I wanted to run away it before anyone noticed and would realize that I had it delivered. It was beyond 'tacky' and the only piece among the other flowers and plants that surrounded the coffin of the deceased. Even though I had emphasized to "James' that I was expecting something nice and fresh. My order was placed via phone. He was not the most polite person who is in business. I have lived in the nearby community for over fifty years, was aware of this florist , had used it a few times. However, I decided to go to the florist to check out what he had. There was one peace lily on hand, and I asked him, if that was what he had in mind of delivering for me. He answered me 'no' that he would be delivering a fresh one. Much to my disgust and embarrassment, the plant that he had delivered was not nice at all. The writing on the ribbon or sash resembled something done by a five year old. The name of church was abbreviated with appeared to have been done with colored elmer glue. I am considering returning everything to him and requesting a refund. They had a reply via 800FLOWERS sent to me at 653 that they had delivered when it had another 2 hrs to arrive. I had been calling to check to see if this delivery arrived all day to be told "no nothing here". I see from the previous review that this appears to be how they do business.
