    Best burgers in town!

Do you like simple but amazing country food? Well lercys is ur little hidden gem u wanna be sure to hit up! They are only open during the week and from about 11am-3pm. Sometimes there is a line that goes outside, but once u taste the food u soon see why! Absolutely love the owners who are local and all their staff is amazing and so well organized! Hands down my favorite spot in Winnie to eat!

    Texas-style!

Lercy's is worth the short drive south from I-10 when you're passing through Winnie, Texas. The people are friendly. The food is hot and fresh, if unsophisticated. I had the chicken fried chicken from the lunch buffet with white gravy, twice-baked mashed potatoes, broccoli-rice casserole and a big piece of jalapeño cheese cornbread. Iced tea was included in the price, which at $10, was a great value. The place was still busy at 12:30 when I stopped in for lunch. The cashier told me the line's out the door sometimes. That's because this place is where the people of Winnie know they can get a good meal at a fair price. Have Lercy on my soul!

Excellent burgers and battered fries. Yum.

Our family stopped here for lunch on our way to Crystal Beach and I'm so glad we did. My kids had a grilled cheese and a burger cooked to order and my husband and I had two meals off the buffet line. Every single things we ate was truly wonderful. Everybody loved it so much that we made a point of stopping there again on our way home and once again we were not disappointed.

Lercy's is a weekly stop for us at one of their 3 locations. Has a great variety of comfort food and the desserts are the best.

Chicken was overcooked and I was rushed through the line without really knowing what's going on.

They have two times of opening and I highly recommend you check the operational hours. We were the first ones there, and don't think they liked that much. They were prepared to open in my opinion. Still setting stuff out and didn't offer their options that were in the buffet style service The seating is cafeteria style also. With few private tables to choose from. The ladies serving weren't talkative nor did they offer advice for us being first time guests. Desserts weren't labeled properly. The food was hot and good, Not great. It was a good portioned and no one left hungry or dissatisfied. I would NOT come back myself, husband and kids said they would. No one visited the restroom so idk about that. I don't take any pictures because I left my phone in the car. We had chicken fried chicken plate with broccoli cheddar rice soup/casserole, and mac. Burger and fries chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and green beans. I must mention here that they offer plates certain days of the week. Not everything is available everyday. So check that also. Until we eat again....to many things here to verify before you go to bed excited about going back. The majority of patronizing is from the local refineries.

And because we can't do like a recent country song and have a fancy date night at Applebee's - the nearest Applebee's is 100 miles away - we did something a little different while the girl was at school: we drove to China. No, I'm not kidding; Southeast Texas has a town of 1,200 named China. And we ate at the Diamond S Diner. Some proprietors try to be stereotypical in their presentation. Others just be natural, this is who they really are. You get the sense that those who own & operate Diamond S have set it up like they really are, a cafe to eat your breakfast or dinner (note to outsiders: "dinner" is actually lunch, and "supper" is actually dinner.) There's a mural of rolling Western hills, a few longhorn skulls, an 80 year-old Dr Pepper decoration, calendars for the Hardin Jefferson HS sports teams, framed newspaper clippings, and country music on the stereo. And wooden tables to eat at. This is NOT Applebee's. The menu is a double-sided 8.5x11 piece of paper, that's how casual this place is. The Hunny had a large chicken fried steak, which may not be in her eating plan, but she made a point to finish it all instead of getting a to-go box, she liked it that much. I had a double meat cheeseburger, and the taste of the tomatoes and onions was overwhelmed by the beefy, meaty taste of two quarter-pound patties. Pork and catfish are also available. This is a place for carnivores. Prices are normal. Service was prompt and friendly. It didn't stand out as top-notch, but that wasn't necessary here anyway. She was what you'd expect in a little restaurant in a tiny Texas country town. Great food, great atmosphere, great service - it all adds up to a five-star experience. China is several minutes drive on the old highway west of Beaumont, on the way to such "destinations" as Liberty and Dayton, so it's nearly certain that you'd need to make a special trip to eat at the Diamond S Diner. Believe me, it's worth the trip. Including on Valentine's Day.
