My husbands plate with chicken, sausage, and brisket with cream corn and green beans. We also had a bowl of bbq sauce.

My husband and I tried Tony's BBQ on our drive home to Louisiana. The place was clean and plenty of parking. The inside had lots of places to sit and even had a cd jukebox. You were greeted by super friendly people that explained everything and helped us make a decision on what to eat. My husband and I both had the three meat combo, which, came with the choice of three meats, two sides and a drink. I choose the ribs, sausage, and brisket with green beans and ranch potatoes. The ribs and sausage were very yummy! The brisket was good but a little dry. The ranch potatoes were cold and definitely needed more seasoning but were ok. I was not a fan of the green beans, they were very bland. I got the bbq sauce on the side and it was tangy and good. My husband ordered the chicken, sausage, and brisket with the cream corn and green beans. He liked all the 3 meats and LOVED the cream corn. He said the green beans needed some help. The total for the two of us was about $45. We would definitely eat here again and would recommend it to everyone.

Wonderful BBQ place, apparently well known by the locals and it's always a great sign. Picked 3 item meal and a BBQ baked spud. The BBQ spud was great, totally recommend it. Brisket was a bit dry but didn't have useless burnt ends/barks you'd see elsewhere. Sausage and ribs were both pretty good. Best of all none of the items were salty, which is a blessing for blood pressure. Iced tea is pretty great and highly recommend it.

Pros Good sized portions Decent bbq sauce Cons Dry brisket Thinly sliced Needs more seasoning/salt I got the Beef Brisket with beans and rice. The sides are okay and did not appear to be made from scratch. The brisket was in dire need of moisture. The brisket was dry and needed sauce. The smoke flavor was not pronounced even though there is a smoke ring. The brisket had a great pull and was tender due to the thin slicing.

    definitely recommend this for BBQ

The food is amazing, the people are friendly, and the atmosphere is even better with a local life performer here the day we came!

What a great idea; my wife and I each opted for cheeseburgers I had french fries she had onion rings, both the fries and an onion rings are hand battered. my wife and I agreed that these are possibly the best hamburgers we have had in at least a year and a half. I'm not sure where they get their hamburger buns, but they are fantastic. Upon leaving the restaurant, we found out that my wife and the manager have common ties to Brenham in terms of having common friends in the BISD school district. The theme of the restaurant definitely teeters on the Texas A&M mystique; me being a so called Tea Sipper(University of Texas alum) I took it all in stride because I know of the Aggie traditions. Lots of artwork in the restaurant as well as on exterior walls, reflecting the Aggie culture; we will definitely keep this place in mind when we travel back-and-forth from the Port Bolivar Peninsula.

You can't miss it, the brightly painted exterior with the name of the restaurant in big letters along the roof is impossible to miss. We arrived at around 1:15 so the usual lunch crowd had thinned out and we got a table for the 8 of us right away. Our server took drink orders while we all checked out the menu. Tia Juanita's Fish Camp serves a mix of Cajun/TexMex and great seafood all rolled into one! While we were tempted to order an appetizer of fried alligator balls, we opted to just proceed with lunch as we hoped to be ahead of early rush hour traffic back in Houston. I ended up trying a cup of the Seafood Gumbo, it was perfectly made with a decent amount of shrimp and other seafood, nicely flavored gumbo broth and a small amount of rice to pull it all together. After that I had the Shrimp Quesadillas. Other members of our group got fish or fish tacos, seafood enchiladas and other tasty things and everyone agreed the food was great with large portions. You want seafood? Well they don't skimp on the seafood in your order, it's virtually popping out of your tacos! Our server was great and took care of each of us, when she brought out the separate checks she delivered them to each person correctly and then returned credit cards to each without a mistake. The restaurant is brightly decorated, hardly a square inch of free space on the walls! This place is definitely worth the trip or pulling off of the freeway as you drive by.

The place was pretty full the 2 times we visited recently, even at 5:30 pm. The first time we ended up being seated near the entrance to the rest room, so there was a continuous stream of people going by yesterday. No Bueno. We started with drinks, and ordered chips and salsa. Yes, they charge for this, but the chips are really good. On our first visit this time I ordered a blackened fish po boy combo, which was a half sandwich, fries, and choice of gumbo. My husband ordered a roast beef po boy with fries and potato salad. I love a good gumbo. The cup of seafood gumbo that came with my meal had plenty of shrimp and fish, but the roux bordered on burned. My sandwich was overly salty, but the fries were excellent. I had peach sweet tea, which was very refreshing. My husband enjoyed his beef po boy. It came with dipping sauce. There was no skimping on the amount of meat in his sandwich. On our 2nd visit this trip we asked to be seated in a quiet area. It was much better. We had salads... grilled chicken for him, taco salad for me. We really enjoyed our meals. If we return to Winnie, we will give Tia Juanita another try. But we'll be sure to insist on being seated away from the rest rooms.
