I've been coming to Les Schwab most of my life . I grew up in Central Oregon and use to go to there head quarters store in Prineville all the time with my dad and later with my own vehicles. So ..now I've lived in Tehama county the last 15 years and usually go to there Corning store sometimes I go to the one in Red Bluff. So a couple weeks ago I called and made an appointment to get all 4 breaks done on my truck at the Corning store since it's a little closer to my house. Being an older vehicle they said they had to order some parts first. So when I finally brought my truck in and after waiting a couple hours in the lounge area they come over and tell me that they ordered the wrong parts and that they would have the correct part later that day. Ok fine. No big deal. So I left the truck there and picked it up later that day. Thst afternoon at the register ready to pay I noticed they only did the back breaks? Ok?? So Lori tells me that the front ones didn't need new breaks and still had approximately half life still there. Ok??? So I took their word for it and went ahead and paid them the $657 for back breaks including new drums etc. Hmmmm. Ok? Really? New drums?? Ok whatever. So a week goes by and suddenly I notice a grinding scraping noise when I break. So I take my truck back into Les Schwab and they take a look at them and they tell me that the front breaks are totally gone and grinding into the rotors. ?? So I calmly explain that they specifically told me that they said I didn't need front breaks. But they denied any one told me that and so I asked why didn't anyone tell me that I needed front breaks when I brought the truck in for all new brakes front and back??? They tell me that there computer stated my front breaks were still good last summer when I bought new tires.. ??? So you're going off what the computer tells you last summer about the condition of my front brakes??? 8 months ago?? Then u don't even look at the front brakes when I specifically asked them to do all the brakes on my truck.??? Then they want to charge me for new rotors? So I pleaded with one of the employees who had to go get someone else, another guy comes over and he's looking at the other computer on the other side of counter undecidedly like he doesn't know what to say. So I walk over to that side and ask what's up, and finally he's like yes we have to charge you for rotors too . So I pleaded with him trying to explain that this is basically their mess up. So he finally is like "ok we won't charge you for the rotors but we won't be able to warrant them." Oh wow. That's nice. Gee thanks so much!! So I decided to go elsewhere and just pay someone else for rotors and have them warranted. What kind of ridiculous show are these clowns trying to pull at this store? I should have just went to the Red Bluff store. But I never had issues with them in Corning until this happened. Except one time I came here for a nail in my tire and they put the hub cap back on with out putting the air knob thing back through the hole in the hub cap. Which was easy to pull off and put back on properly. But this whole thiasco with my breaks was just complete BS and totally unacceptable. My goodness. Really?? Please get with the program Corning Les Schwab. It's not rocket science. Why are you not looking at all my breaks when I wanted all the breaks done, tell me they're fine based on info from 8 months ago, then not warrant new rotors.? What's the point of getting my mileage every time I bring my truck in? Unbelievable. I could not even believe they pulled this on me. Thanks for the terrible service. read more

I have been a loyal Les Schwab person my entire life. So when I experienced an issue about 15 miles out of town with my travel trailer, I called. They said they offered no roadside assistance and my only option was to limp it in or get it towed. So when I arrived there (at about 11 am), I was told that they wouldn't be able to get to it for a day or two. Mind you I was stranded in Chico on my way back to Reno at this point. I came in with my Historic Military Vehicle. An M923A2 5 Ton 6x6 with a leaking rear tire. I asked Sean, the store manager if he would be able to repair such large tire, 14.00x20 He said that he could, then he started to do some investigating on my predicament. 5 minutes later he found a loose ferrel nut on the CTIS system on the wheel. 5 minutes later the leak was repaired. We had amazing service on Friday! I'm on a road trip with my family and had some tire issues. We were met in the parking lot by Brandon who listened, responded to all my questions, and even showed me some things on my car that were causing the problem. He could have just told me but he invited me into the shop and walked me through the process. My family and I were travelling to Crescent City from Sacramento yesterday. Around Corning, CA, I had flat tire and after I changed to our spare tire, my wife google tire shop and found Les Schwab. To make the long story short, they patched my tire and mount it back and DID NOT charge me anything. I was really surprise but I was really grateful for their fantastic and fast service. Stranded on the side of highway 5 on a hot day. Our guy arrived within the promised time and quickly changed out our trailer tire. Warned us of a second tire going bad and luckily we had him bring us an extra. This place is not good. They didn't even balance my tires. I had to go to another Les Schwab in Sacramento the next day. They made me another appointment for the next day.I just had a flat and so far they got me for three tires and a new bill for every part needed for alignment. The car was driving perfect. We were on a road trip up I-5 and our car was wobbling at high speeds. I looked up a tire shop and decided to stop at Les Schwab. I had all four tires balanced, rotated, inspected and properly inflated. The technician was helpful and they were QUICK! Even giving me a discount! They did suggest new brakes (a very high quoted price) But my husband does the maintenance so I'll leave that up to him! We got back on the road and it was smooth sailing! The experience I had at this place is that nightmare scenario all girls (who don't know anything about cars) fear. I got caught in a winter storm and blew out my tire in the middle of the night. I was towed here. And boy did these guys take advantage of the situation. First, they told me I needed all new tires even though only one had blown out. They said by law they couldn't just fix the one because, of the car I was driving (which I found out later was absolutely not true)! They completely overcharged me for the four tires and they were in no rush to finish the job. I was told the job would be done in one day. Then they said it would be done first thing the next morning. I didn't leave until the end of day the next evening. They knew I had no other choice but to use their tire services. They were the only game in town. And that left me stuck with a total of three days at a semi crappy motel (also, the only choice in town). So, here is the kicker. they accidentally undercharged me. I thought they had decided to not completely over charge me and even the front desk lady said that they must have given me a discount. I found out later that they had put the amount that they didn't charge me on my as a revolving charge account on my credit AND put it into collections. This was never authorized by me. And I could not get it removed no matter how I tried to dispute it with the credit bureaus. Because, I didn't know about it for awhile (i was never contacted) it shows up as a delinquent account even though, I paid it as soon as I found out about it! My suggestion is to never use these guys if you don't ABSOLUTELY HAVE to! Even then if it is an emergency it might be worth it to have AAA tow it further! read more
