I wanted to find someone who would offer a small photography package since we would only need about an hour or so of shooting. I did a Google search and stumbled across a handful photographers in Los Angeles who advertised "elopement" photography. After emailing several, we decided to go with Nancy. Her pricing is competitive and she was willing to work around what we wanted rather than a fixed package. However, what truly drew us to her was her website, specifically the "About You" section, which read: "We are probably a great match if... - Photography is a huge priority for you. - You're a foodie and or enjoy wine. - Travel is important to you and you have a bucket list. - Laughter and conversation are key in your relationships. - You value candid, in between moments, the not so perfect smile. - You're a romantic." We wanted someone who would capture our day uniquely and without all the typical posed shots. We also wanted someone who would make us feel comfortable in front of the camera, which by nature we are not. After reading that and then seeing her elopement ceremony, for which she wrote, "Yes, it's true! These hippies caved into society and are trying this thing called marriage," we knew she was the one for us! In the days leading up to our wedding, Nancy was in constant contact with me, seeing if I needed help with flowers or any other last minute details. She actually gave me great advice on how to do my hair and what flowers to pick for my bouquet. She was able to see the "look" I was going for from an outside perspective, which was so incredibly helpful! On our big day, she arrived early to scope out the location, started shooting early, and stayed later than anticipated. She used some great techniques to get authentic shots and I think our emotion is palpable throughout her photographs. My husband and I are thrilled with how they turned out and we look forward to using her for baby photos when that time comes. Highly, highly recommended!!

To this day my wedding guests remember him. Not in a good way. He was so very, very rude to myself and my guests on my wedding day. He seemed to think that this was *his* day, on *his* schedule. During the group photo, he referred to my guests by such names as "fat man" and "leather jacket." I could not believe how disrespectful and arrogant he was. He got impatient when everybody didn't move exactly where he thought they should be. At one point I needed to talk to the caterer, and he was telling me to get off the phone. I got several photos where I was on the phone, confirming the food delivery. Sorry if it's not on your schedule! For the couples photos of my husband and I, he had us go down to the dirty bathroom on the beach. He insisted we take photos there, even though there was flies everywhere and they were making my husband uncomfortable. He only took 4 photos of my bouquet. The bouquet itself was beautiful, but the photos were all the same location and angle, and not a single one turned out right. As a result, I have no decent photos of my bridal bouquet. That makes me saddest of all. At the reception, he dragged me outside to take a bunch of "spontaneous" awkward photos with some of my husband's work friends, but he demanded they be taken at the exact moment my Grandfather was leaving, so I missed saying goodbye to him. The last straw was that he took almost no photos of the reception area, and no candid guests photos. I had asked him to take some before he began eating. As soon as he decided he was done, he ate, then left 3 hours early. Two months after this ordeal, I received a CD with the photos on it. There was not a single usable photo out of all of them. I spent 1/4 of the wedding budget on this guy, and have nothing to show for it. Wish I hadn't wasted my money. He didn't white balance a single thing, so the background is washed out & white, my makeup looks streaky and terrible, and the photos all just turned out really ugly. When I show his photos to other people, they are shocked at how bad they turned out. I also had 2 amateur photographers taking candid photos at the wedding. Erik was extremely rude to them, telling them to stop taking photos even after I told him I wanted them to take photos also. He was probably jealous/nervous. I'm so glad I had them there, because at least I have some decent photos of the wedding. My little sister took better photos, and she was a college student at the time! Be warned: DO NOT HIRE!!!!!
