Lester-Glenn's Service Center I had an Engine Fault message and also needed an oil change. They replaced the MAP sensor and that was resolved, but I also paid for "The Works" oil service and inspection. Upon day 2 of wondering if my car would be ready the next day, I called around 4pm and left a message asking for an update. Nobody picked up and I never received a call back. The next morning, I again called to see if my car was finished so I could go to work that day. Theresa was short and seemed perturbed that I had inquired about my vehicle's readiness. After driving away from the service center and straight to work... I received a low tire pressure warning pulling into my work's parking lot. I measured all 4 tires and each one were well under-inflated between 15-20 psi when they should have been 35 psi. Lester Glenn didn't check my tire pressure and I'm not confident my tires were even rotated per "The Works." They had my car for 2 nights! For years I have been taking my car here for service, and I always get the impression they just want to sell you an expensive oil change/ inspection with minimal communication during and after. **Update** A week after paying for "The Works," oil service and inspection, my Ford Escape indicated an "Oil Change Needed" message. Essentially, the service tech didn't reset the Oil Life Monitoring System after the oil change. This is just another example that I've noticed over the years of Lester Glenn's service center over-charging and under-delivering. read more

My wife and I just had THE best experience EVER in purchasing a car. We had just come from a horrible dealer a few miles away, DCH FORD in Eatontown. We were greeted by a wonderful young man, Sean Kausch. He was tremendous and within a half hour we purchased a Ford Edge. He is such a gentleman and was very accommodating. He never tried to sell us or show us a car we were not interested in nor was out of our price range. We drove our new pre-owned car home within 3 days. Took a new truck home last night. Waiting on the transfer of plates so not done yet! Will have to update when I get the stuff. First time in 12 years straying from Dana Ford. After being promised the world from Dana and then not coming through we went to Lester Glenn for a change. First we met Paul our sales man. He was honest. Not pushy. Showed us the car we wanted and then did the usual - go to the manager to get a price. Came back but not where we needed to be price wise. Enter General Manager Mitch! The man we needed to see! Turns out Mitch was formerly at Dana and he remembered my husband. Again. Still was NOT a pushy trying to sell a car. Mitch was very helpful and seemingly honest. Gave us pricing and info we needed. Gave us time to discuss. We weren't thinking we would be taking home a car last night and we did. I definitely recommend them. Finance guy Bobby was also great. Last customers of the day and he made it quick and easy! Overall experience was positive. I will recommend taking the trip here for anyone looking. If you go...ask for Paul Tomaselli! I called to make an appointment for an oil change and a tire rotation ONLY they were supposed to pick it up at 8:30 am. They arrived at 9 am then I called at 5 pm for a update then I was told by the receptionist that they have closed for the day and left at 4 and does not have any idea if the car is ready or not. I rephrased that I only wanted an oil change and tire rotation nothing else so I don't know what they were waiting for? Then the receptionist that makes appointments for service gets mad that I'm confused why it had to take more than 7 hours for an oil change and then she says call tomorrow sorry and hangs up...exactly why I will no longer buy cars from this dealership you are the way off better at the George wall ford. read more

I recently purchased a used blue oval certified from this dealership and all I can say is HORRIBLE I will not go into all the details but horrible after I finished signing all the papers I was told it would be E-mailed too me . Well that did not happen .when I went too pick up my truck it was not ready and I had told the sales man I'd be that morning well he wasn't . I asked for a hard copy of all papers I Signed because I never received them . When I got the KEY I said only one set of keys the reply was yes we only give out one . REALLY. As per FORD and I did call they took my vin. Number and said Yes I am in titled to two sets because it's a CERTIFIED BLUE OVAL . When I returned for my plates I was told I'd get a phone call on Saturday. I picked up my plates Friday if not definitely on Monday from a manger. Well that didn't happen neither. What happens if the key fob stops working from bad battery especially on a Sunday and your out somewhere . So now I have too spend approximately $300. Plus for a key. . Save your hard earn money and go else where I will never go to this dealership ever again and will tell others about this experience I am a loyal Ford customer but will never purchase from here again It's just sad that I have too give a star too post this because it would definitely be MINUS 6 read more

5 stars for my sales experience buying my car, Eric was great, no pressure and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable before running my information. He even made up a "worse case scenario" estimation of payments, to make sure I was comfortable just incase. but, what I didn't realize was that all 4 tires are cracked, dry rotted, and entirely bald. So bad that I'm afraid to drive it in bad weather conditions. I had the car for no more than 2 weeks when I made the inquiry about seeing if they could be replaced, as I'm paying $19,000 for the car. nope, I have to replace them myself. A shame. Now having to dish out over $600, and I only have had the car for 2 weeks. Make sure you check the tires and get the deal before hand. I leased a 2019 Ford Escape in 2019 for a 36 month lease from Lester Glenn Ford. After 30 months, the car would not often start because of a low battery in the key fob. Assuming this minor issue would be covered by the dealer, I brought the car to Lester Glenn in Ocean township and requested a new battery for the key fob. I was charged $5 for the battery. $5 is not the issue here. The fact that they charged me at all for a key fob battery that went bad after 30 months on a leased vehicle tells me the mindset of this Ford dealer. I could imagine their charges for more serious leased vehicle issues. I spoke to a manager to vent my displeasure only to get some lame excuse. Never again for Lester Glenn Ford, or any ford for that matter. There are too many other good choices out there. read more

So disappointed in this "7 location, family owned@ business! Bought a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee for my daughter, by the time we got to the dealership, worked their version of a "deal" out we drove home over an hour in the dark. The next morning noticed 2 rock holes in the windshield, and a very bad botched repair job on the rear bumper, called the dealership only to find out they knew about the damage, did not disclose it to us, did not repair it before selling, and did not discount the vehicle! Sticker was $27,000!!! 2 weeks speaking to salesman, manager, service Dept, dropped Jeep off, was told repairs were done only to drive over an hour back and the body and paint looks EXACTLY the same!! This place does not even deserve one star. The behave in the predatory practice of giving you a price on the phone (AND IN PRINT MIND YOU since this was emailed to us) and then once you come in, suddenly you "misunderstood." My husband was primarily communicating with Brandon. We made it CRYSTAL CLEAR we were only interested in zero percent financing. He gave us the price on several ford explorers. We confirmed this was with the zero percent financing on numerous occasions. He went over the price on several models in stock and even went over the monthly price with us on these prices and the 0% financing. The price was good but not "too good to be true." He emailed us the price sheet with the price. Suddenly when we come in this price is "wrong" and we "misunderstood" and the discount wasn't available with 0% financing. Conveniently Brandon is not available. We must have went over this 10x before driving over one hour to this dump. Sorry, but it's 2020 and if gas lighting people when they show up in person is one of your sales tactics, you need to get with the times. I'm really not surprised by the negative reviews here. There are far more honest places to buy a Ford and this place gives others a bad name. Additionally, do not bother coming here for the "Costco discount." They take $500 off for Costco membership,but then charge you $495 for ugly pin striping they add to every car. read more

One star is the lowest rating available, otherwise it would be zero. Condescending attitude/ cockiness: - Ryan? Brian?- unfortunately did not have the customer skills to manage an almost sure sale. I experienced his attitude as cocky and dismissive right from the start. Rather than address my specific questions and needs for a car, he was trying to force fit a 2013 model he wanted to get rid of that had features I did not need. My partner had already been there to check out the car days before and the salesperson was so sure they would sell me this new 2013 model at a 2014 cost - no real "deals" or discounts, that they already had a "sold" sign on the window with my partner's name when we arrived. Then when I asked him a few fair questions on cost he defensively tells me he isn't running a game on me, I tell him who said you were? Why do you bring it up ? It's those old school sales tactics I thought dealerships knew better than to try to pull on you. This is my third new car purchase - if it isn't going to be with someone who knows their stuff, and is invested in showing me what I am getting for what I am paying, making me feel like they ARE LISTENING to me UNDERSTAND my needs and questions, then they aren't going to convince me of doing business. Lack of knowledge: He also did not know the answer to - or maybe he did not care to answer - or both - my specific questions. Explain to me why you would come back from finance several times w numbers that were either wrong or irrelevant? If we had already established that there would be 0% interest, why show me how much I would pay per month at 0 interest and then also waste my time comparing how much it would be with 1 point something interest - why would this be a comparison to discuss? And yet he comes to me with one price with taxes included to compare to another price without taxes included. And when I would call him on it? I would get an I don't know or he would try to give me the fast blurred talk on why the finance guy thought I might want to see it that way. Basically, he knew we were coming in that day- and he did not do his homework. Immature behavior: I wasn't satisfied with his sales attitude or his lack of knowledge or his "final" numbers, so I said I would have to think about it. I asked if I could have the numbers he wrote down comparing new 2014 vs new 2013 model, and his response, a pouting no - he was not going to give it to me, and he walked away. Then as I was walking out of the dealership, he came at me grumbling and pouting that these were the best numbers he can give me, and I said again I would think about it , and he retorted with , "well I won't". I guess that I wasn't the easy sale he may have thought I would be simply because my partner had liked the car . I was open to buying a Ford Edge and try the Ford brand for the first time but after this experience I lost my taste for Ford as a brand. Terrible customer service. Terrible prices. I bought a explorer from Brian Taylor. Who was patient and respectable.When I had questions about the price and overall condition of the vehicle he brought me to the sales manager that insured me they inspected it and said there is nothing wrong with the car. Then I asked him for copy of proof of inspection that he assured would be with paper work. I took the car home that night. The next day realize there was a crack in the windshield so it cost me about 150 to get repaired. Now 3 months I check my fluids and notice my anti-freeze is low so I fill it back up just for the next day to be low again. So I made an appointment to have oil change and to have it checked out. So the service department tells me i need a new water pump , rear breaks and rotors that was priced at 3100 dollars for all. Since I purchased the car for 12,000 dollars cash i assumed they would work with me and give me some type of discount or something because it's a major repair and I brought it 3 months ago but no they still want me full price. I will never purchase from here again. I feel that the sales manager knew it was going bad and sold it to me anyways. Can't trust them read more

Just bought a car today and can't thank everyone enough, especially our salesman Eric. Not only did they bend over backwards to make us feel comfortable, but they worked with us to find the exact features we wanted. Quite frankly, I was shocked when Eric's manager Joe came to us and showed us the car we wanted. I thought he was just showing us a printout of what we asked for because every other dealer we had been to told us our ideal car didn't exist. I was literally speechless. But it was an actual car with everything we wanted. And needless to say they worked with us to get the maximum rebates and discounts available or I'd be happy, but not this happy :) About as hassle free as it gets and the best car buying experience I ever had. RUN from this place. I've been there twice recently and both times they attempted to steal large amounts of money, totaling over $8,000. The first time, I chose to go there instead of my regular mechanic because I have a hybrid, it had an electrical issue, and I thought the manufacturer might be in a better position to diagnose the problem. They quoted me over $3,000. I brought it to my mechanic and he charged me $1,100, including a couple of other minor repairs that made the car run more smoothly. While it was at Lester Glenn the first time, they told me my front brakes were just about gone and it was urgent that I replace them. The price seemed reasonable so I did it. About a week later my brake and ABS lights came on, so I brought it back to them, hoping it was something minor that they overlooked or something. They quoted me FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! I brought it to my mechanic. He told me I had a broken brake house and charged $203. Thanks to the work done by my mechanic--Ray's Auto Service in Neptune--my car is running better than ever. It's amazing to think that, instead of paying just over $1,400, the bill could have been in excess of $8,000! These people are true lowlives. Steer clear. read more

I have been searching in the market for a Ford F-150 for about 3 months since my older model GMC was reaching the end of the line. I had never been to Lester Glenn Ford, but had been to the dealership when it was Sansone. It was terrible back then. The day I actually decided to pull the trigger I had visited several Ford dealerships as far North as Keyport and as far South as Manahawkin with no success and I was not amused by the sales pitch I received in several instances. On my way home, i happened to see Lester Glenn Ford in Ocean and just randomly stopped in. I was met outside by Bobby Fox, a salesman, but I never felt that sickening feeling you get when you have to deal with a car guy. He was NO PRESSURE and discussed several options for my trade and suggested a lease of a new vehicle, versus purchasing a used F-150. I had never considered leasing as an option for the truck, but he made it work into my budget and I have a brand new truck and am very satisfied with my purchase and the dealership as a whole. The "softspoken" gentleman who does all the documentation was very organized and had everything ready to go in about 15 minutes and didn't try to "upsell" me on any unwanted items. Since April 2021 I have purchased 3 explorers from him and everytime the experience was easy and perfect. He was NOT pushy at all and met all of our needs. I always believe the best in people, but I've had a weird series of events happen after a basic oil change with this service department. I've owned my car for 2 years and my tire pressure light has never come on, not even when the weather temperature has dropped. A day after my servicing, my low tire pressure light comes on. I go to a gas station to fill the tires, which are all over 10lbs low. A few days later, I get an email from Lester Glenn asking me about if I'd like to try the Nitrogen Inflation for low tire pressure problems. I then get an email from the service manager and a phone call asking me to contact him regarding my low tire pressure light being on. I never told anyone at Lester Glenn that my tire pressure light was on. I call the service manager to ask why he's calling me. He said I reached out to them regarding this issue. I said I did not and proceeded to tell him what happened. I told him I thought his service men released air out of my tires just to sell me on this nirtrogen inflation service and asked him why is he contacting me? I did not respond to any coupon regarding this issue and I did not call them. How else would they know this happened if they were not participating in this? The service manager said the tire pressure on all tires can be low after a cold snap and he encouraged me to call any tire place and they will say the same. The manager was very friendly and said he has full confidence that his staff is not participating in any tampering with cars to push these products. I'd really like to believe him and of course I can't prove this, but I can't help but question all of this with the timing of the servicing, the product pushing email, his email and phone call to me. I just know I won't be going back there. I can't take the chance. I told him I certainly hope he brings this up in a staff meeting and expresses the concern of a client. This is the first time I have ever written a review, ever. I felt the need to express my concerns in case anyone else has this type of issue. read more

Just recently bought a Durango from the dealership and not even 2 days after driving it the radio in the car broke. I called them every day for a week and never herd back from anyone. Then I contacted my sales person Eric who was great and actually ended up leaving Lester gleen to work for another dealership. He helped me get in contact with the service manager since he felt the need not to return my calls. Scheduled an appointment for my car to get dropped off and be fixed. They quoted me $500 for them to ship out the radio and fix it and told me it would be ready in a few days. I then tried to contact the gm to see if there was any way for him to help me out since he sold me a car with a broken radio and then he pretty much told me to eat it. Told me it was my fault that I didn't purchase the extended warranty. Then nearly 2 weeks after I dropped my car off he finally calls me back saying that it needed a new radio and that they put it in for me and my car was done. Told me the new radio actually cost $750 I believe and then said he would pay the $250 difference since they told me it would be $500. I wouldn't have paid the $750 anyway since no one asked me or even gave me any updates on my car while it was being fixed anyway. Stay away from this dealership. I think he thought he was funny. Felt sorry for Dustin, salesperson. I think he was embarrassed with his attitude. I don't understand why car dealerships have to be such slime balls.
