When I called, we talked about the date and inspirations that I had for my event. She asked questions about the location, and set up times to ensure that she will be able to meet the needs I needed for my event. On the day of the event, she showed up right at the time that we communicated, and her work exceeded my expectations. Folks were taking pictures with the balloons all night, and we even kept it up for others to enjoy for a week or so after. To make it worse, they refused to even put the items in our back yard and informed me they were a driveway service only. The booking process was extremely simple compared to other rental places I've used in the past (i.e. U-Haul). My info was already in the system when I arrived, so they just had to process my CC. I pulled out back and the trailer was waiting for me. It was clean and ready to go. The crew put the trailer on my hitch, checked the lights, and I was on my way. The return process was just as smooth and simple. I pulled out back, a crew member was there, undid the hitch, asked if I needed a receipt and I was on my way. I've probably told a half dozen people so far how great the whole experience was from start to finish. If the need arises again, I will definitely be calling Ed's for all my equipment rental needs.

BUT THEN, when the crew arrived to take down the tent and tables, I watched one of the crew members drag two large garbage cans that we also rented from them over to where we had all of our coolers from the party and started tossing beers into the trash can to take with him. I was in shock. I opened my door to tell him he couldn't take those and he said he didn't foresee it being a problem, that he was 21. I told him that didn't matter, that he was stealing. I told him it's not like he was taking a couple bottles of water for the crew, which would have absolutely been fine, it was alcohol and obviously more expensive than water. He said ok, he didn't think it was a problem, that other people don't mind. I let him know that I minded, he was sneaky about it and didn't ask, he just started tossing them in the can to take. It's through him that I heard of the Central Street Busker Festival that took place the next day and his line was loooong! Most recently, we went to his show last week that the Mt. Prospect Public Library held for spring break. That was very very well attended, with a long line of folks waiting to get in (and that's with all of us registered to attend!), but the show was a lot of fun. He did a little magic, a little comedy, and some fun balloon tricks. This guy has been doing this all his adult life--unless that's also a joke and part of his act--but regardless, he's great at his job. I'm looking forward to seeing him again and my little one having the chance to pick her balloon creation on her own.
