I was visiting PR and I knew I wanted a nice place for dinner and came across Levant. The restaurant itself is beautiful. They immediately saw it was my birthday from the reservation and wished me a happy birthday. I did think she could have provided us a better table. We tried to order a couple different wines that the hostess stated they were out of. I also heard someone else with the same complaint. I thought with this being fine dining if they were out of something guests should be informed in advance. The food was a hit or miss. I had the chicken which was cooked to perfection but to salty as in drink lots of water. Someone else had the pasta and clams and then another pasta dish they stated their dishes were just ok. They did provide me with a little birthday treat. The hostess did say the recently opened. The dishes were reasonably priced but I did feel the cocktail list it was way overpriced. Couple things: 1. We missed our initial reservation because of a flight delay, so we came to the restaurant and asked for availability at the bar. Our hostess Destiny scoffed (in front of us) and whispered to her other host. We were like , oh, what a way to start the night but after a dismissive interaction we got seated. (Four young women, early 20s) 2. Our server seated us and asked sparking or still, and upon saying still he quickly walked away (before we could ask for tap-- which may not be an option here? Not sure). For the next hour the most prompt service was how quickly our water was topped up, and by the end of the night we opened the bill and realized we were charged $30 for three whole 1L bottles of water. 3. My friend Sophia ordered a $70 ribeye and she asked for rare. The meat came an absolutely medium rare - no blood, just pink and disappointment. 4. I was recommended the scallops - the special of the day. I was like, sure, let's do it. It was (1) scallop ($28), thinly sliced with a drizzle of ikura and oil. If you have eaten scallop before, you know that the two things to look for is taste and texture. The scallop melted in my mouth, but left behind a mildly pungent, slimy and bitter aftertaste. I looked out to the dark waters by the window and shed a fishy tear. We passed around the five slices of scallop to confirm our jurisdiction (yes, it was bitter and fishy), and then didn't finish the dish. Overall a great disappointment and the expensive inside joke for the rest of the trip. read more

The service was too notch and we were served by a wait staff team of two, and as each meal was served a dissertation on the ingredients and their preparation. The flavors were well-balanced, but we ran out of pita far too quickly for the amount of dip served -- a small but noticeable detail. I ordered the harissa chicken, which was tender and juicy, but the seasoning was overpowering in some bites. The sauce base was also intensely salty, which threw off the overall dish. The lamb chops were cooked beautifully -- tender with a flavorful crust, and paired well with the vegetables. The pasta dish, on the other hand, leaned heavily sour from the tomato, and the flavor profile felt unbalanced. ‍ Service & Hospitality Our server was attentive and accommodating, and the team went out of their way to bring a complimentary birthday dessert, which was a lovely touch. I unfortunately had a terrible experience. I did a reservation for 8:30 pm with the hope that I could still make it to my plans after. My first course did not arrive until 10:55pm. There were two tables near me. One was in front of me and the other behind me. They both received their meals before me because they were vocal about being upset. I chose an understanding approach of informing the server of the wait time and the fact that the table behind us and in from of us received their food ahead if us. The manager offered us nothing but wine. This was a terrible experience. The food wasn't anything to rave about, as expected, from a restaurant with a beautiful ambiance. I wouldn't come back. A two and a half hour wait time is not worth it. You would think that they would have the class to offer compensation for the meal. Snobby. Conveniently message you just under 24 hours before your reservation to "remind" you of their strict dress policy and then don't respond when you message back. As a reminder, if you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation they charge $25/person. Tried calling all next morning, the hotel claims to patch you through to their concierge who never picks up. This was an out of body experience. Not only is the interior stunning and elevated but the service bartender and wait staff were extremely pleasant. My husband and I ordered the old fashioned and a martini and they were the best we've had! There were so many amazing food options to choose from, I had a hard time deciding I could've had one of everything, but we ended up ordering the filet and pesca del dia. Where do I even begin? Levant deserves 10 stars! Everything was incredible from start to finish. I came here to celebrate my birthday and they did not disappoint. The space itself is stunning. I was a little nervous at first because it is located inside of a hotel, however, they exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival we were greeted graciously and taken to our table where they had carefully placed a birthday note. The space is beautifully designed with incredible views of the ocean. The staff was so well informed about the menu and took the time to explain each and every dish, you can tell they are truly passionate about what they do, what they serve and how it is prepared. This was more than a birthday dinner, It was a culinary experience. The food was incredible everyone was so pleased with what they ordered not to mention at the end although we had ordered dessert they bought out a complementary birthday dessert and sang to me. They explained what the dessert was in detail. I don't have one bad thing to say about this restaurant truly the best meal I've had in a very long time and the best dining experience I've had in a long time I would fly back to Puerto Rico just to eat at Levant again. read more

Levant just opened at La Concha Resort in late March 2025, and it's already the place everyone in San Juan is talking about -- and for good reason. The vibe is stunning -- think oceanfront views, cool beachy design, and a super stylish, but still relaxed, atmosphere. The food? Absolutely next-level. Their mezze is amazing (don't miss the whipped feta with local figs and honey), but the real star for me was the Harissa Roasted Chicken -- juicy, full of flavor, and paired with crispy riso al salto that I'm still dreaming about. The wine list is huge (over 400 options!) and really thoughtfully curated. Service was on point too -- friendly, knowledgeable, and they made us feel like VIPs. We had a great Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne blanc that complemented the food spectacularly. Pro tip: Save room for dessert. Their pomegranate marengka dessert is as gorgeous as it is delicious -- fresh, bright, and the perfect way to end an incredible meal. Beautiful ambiance and renovation. Unfortunately the food poisoning I got within thirty minutes of leaving the restaurant was pretty awful. In fact it was so bad that I emailed the GM at the restaurant to make him aware. I asked for nothing but wanted to make him aware that something wasn't right with my dish. Rather than apologizing and providing solutions on what steps he would take to ensure this didn't happen again he was dismissive and patronizing. I was shocked considering this is a Michael White restaurant and I have always had A* service and food. The servers were all lovely but I would steer clear of the food unless you want a good 24 hours of being sick and out of commission. Such a shame. read more

My wife and I arrived for dinner on time for a 7:15 reservation. The hostess would not seat us because I had on 'open toe shoes'. The dress code on Open Table says business casual. I was wearing khaki pants, a long sleeve blue collared shirt, and leather flip flops. Attached is a picture of us that night. I appreciate the value of dress codes to keep 'vibe' that the resturant is trying to achieve, but the hostess could have used better discretion. We're not exactly the kind of people you don't want in your restaurant. We walked down the road and ate at STK and had a great night. I would not go back here out of principle. In the end it didn't matter as they have a strict dress code of no shorts regardless of how dressy. From the experience to the service to the food, top to bottom, phenomenal. As you may see from my past reviews, I usually lean towards moderate to cheap eats but we were looking for a special occasion spot and this place fit the bill. We're talking amuse-bouche, add-water-to-pill-for-towelette, gorgeous presentation of mouth-watering and unique-flavor-pairing meals. We chose three pots of hummus, tzatziki, and feta "for the table" which were served with piping hot pita and a side of pickles and olives. When I say "feta," I mean a delectable concoction of whipped feta with thin slices of chili peppers, a splash of lime, slivers of sweet fig, and local honey. Knowing we had to pace ourselves to make it to dessert, we skipped over the enticing starters and headed directly to the entrees: swordfish with black lentils and harissa chicken on a bed of riso al salto with an extra side of blistered patatas bravas. All amazing. For dessert, we were faced with the nearly impossible choice of several incredible options and went with two which I feel I cannot do justice to so will copy and paste from the menu: 1. Galaktoboureko- Semolina Custard, Phyllo, Cardamom Crumble, Lemon Olive Oil, Cardamom Gelato, Honey Spiced Syrup 2. Levant Budino- Mascarpone, Dark Chocolate & Coffee Crémeux, Feuilletine Milk Chocolate & Coffee Crumble, Coffee Gelee, Chocolate Tuile We could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. The interior decor was soothing and enchanting and our prime seats gave us an immersive view of the beach which was artwork itself. Ambience was great as the others say but the food (what we ordered at least) was just ok. We got the Branzino to share and the carrot and potatoes. You can tell they are intentional because everything was flavorful - just not flavors I'd necessarily order again. The Brazino was well cooked with a nice crisp on the outside and surprise base of chimichurri underneath, but if it wasn't for that, it'd be void of much favor at all - which was disappointing. We are kind of big Branzino fans and this one was very underwhelming. Otherwise, they do fine dining well - attentive, timely. We opted out of cocktails this visit since we'd been drinking by the pool all day but had a nice surprise when our bill came back with a $20 charge for water when we simply asked for "water". So, be clear with your water selection, lest you find yourself with a $10 still water charge per person. ps went during sunset which was nice but don't expect a great view of it if you're looking for that. read more

Went there today to be told we weren't dressed appropriately. I wore a linen short suit with a vest. I had Gucci sandals. My son wore a linen shirt and linen shorts. Very unpleasant experience. We read the dress code wrong and thought it said no athletic shorts, but it was actually no shorts whatsoever. We were told to go to a nearby store to buy my husband a pair of pants. The store was locked and no one was there. We went back and told the hostess and she basically told us we were liars. We left the restaurant again called the store. The man picked up and did come back so we could buy the pants. Once back at the restaurant, we see there is a woman wearing shorts who is eating there? There was also a woman with a bathing suit cover-up on.. My husband had dress shorts well over $100 . We had to go buy a pair of slacks for under $70 just to eat at this restaurant which was ridiculous Our view was not spectacular. There was nothing special about the drinks we were served . There was nothing spectacular about the food we received. We also ate at STK steakhouse that was a spectacular experience. To be honest, we didn't even stay for our meal, so this review is strictly about the customer service. After being seated, we ordered still water. The server brought a new bottle and filled our glasses, as well as the surrounding tables' glasses. We then ordered wine and an appetizer while we looked over the menu. A few minutes later, the waiter returned to inform us they were out of one of the key ingredients in the appetizer, so we started to choose an alternative while they left to get our drinks. The waiter soon came back again to ask if they could substitute rosé for the prosecco because the prosecco hadn't been chilled. My husband received his wine, but they forgot my daughter's Diet Coke. We waited a long time for the waiter to return to finalize our order and bring my daughter's drink. By the time they reappeared, we had already decided that the delays and missteps did not reflect the fine dining experience we expected. As guests of the hotel, we were truly disappointed, as we had been looking forward to dining here. After reading other reviews on Yelp and Open Table, it seems this restaurant still has a lot to learn about customer service and fine dining. read more
