Joining United Studios has been one of the best decisions I have made. As a youth, USSD gave me the confidence and humility to help place me on a responsible path as a youth. Increased health, grades and personal character are just a few of the things that I benefited from while enrolled at United Studios. After taking a break, I came back at the age of 35 with the hope of regaining and strengthening my mind, body and spirit. I also came back with a lot of anxiety and self doubt in my ability to physically keep up with the group classes and in my ability to remember all the martial art material while handling the basic adult responsibilities such as fatherhood, career and higher education. My fears were quickly dissolved as the best parts of USSD growing up only got better and their many services continued to stay (student focused). I would recommend martial arts to anyone as the benefits are seemingly endless, however United Studios of Self Defense is the best organization for me as they have earned my respect and admiration by consistently providing top quality instruction and individualized goal assistance. read more

4 years ago I made the decision to join U.S.S.D. at the Sandy, Utah Dojo and it was a great decision. I had never been happier in doing something as active as Martial Arts. Then in 2013 I was called to Active Duty in the U.S. Army Reserves and wasn't going to be able to study there anymore. After I came home from the deployment I had the choice to come back to the Dojo and I didn't. That was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made in my life. I felt like something was missing. A few years passed and then in February of this year, I reached out to the Dojo and signed up again. Sensei Brandon and Sensei Jason accepted me back like I had never left and made me feel like family again. I love studying there. The knowledge and experience that the instructors bring is amazing. Also, the social environment that you are in with the other students is great. I have made some friends at the Dojo that I will never forget. This place is amazing! I did martial arts in high school and a couple years later I wanted to get back into it. I looked around at a few places, but didn't really find one that had everything I wanted at first. When I came here, it felt like the perfect place for me to train. The program is well rounded and professional, there is always something to learn, and the instructors really care about the students and their families. Hi Everyone, My son Udochi has been taking karate at the Sandy United Studios for about seven months. Of all the sporting activities that I have signed him up for, he loves karate the best. We Love USSD-Sandy! My 6 year old has been going for a year, and he absolutely loves it. He is always excited to go to karate. He is doing great in school, and his behavior at home has improved a lot. It's been the perfect way for him to get out all his build up energy, and he's gained so much strength over this past year. Sensei Brandon and Sensei Jason lead a great crew of high energy and fun instructors. The level of Martial Arts training found in this Dojo is no doubt the best in Sandy. My six year old started taking classes here about 6 months ago and she loves it! The instructors are friendly, approachable and playful with her while at the same time helping her be serious about what she is learning. She practices at home and even chooses to meditate when she finds herself with a little extra time on her hands. This is absolutely hands down the best dojo with USSD! I have two children, ages 9 and 6 participating in karate and they just love it. My son (5yr old) studies at the Taylorsville location but has been here for his snake test. This location is nice and has lots of parking. The instructors at this location are just as the ones at his home location, super nice and helpful. I recommend this school to any individual looking tor a martial arts future. read more
