I was a patient of Dr. Levy for over six years. He was treating me for chronic pain. During my annual physical with my primary care doctor, I always made sure they had a list of all my medications. Over two years ago during a physical, the physician's assistant informed me one of my prescriptions was an overdose amount. My next appointment with Dr. Levy I told him what the P.A. had told me, not really worried. I trusted Dr. Levy. He told me the P.A. wasn't up to date on his information and the maximum dosage was raised a while back. I told him I wasn't surprised... A few weeks later I received a letter from Dr. Levy explaining about the trust between patient and doctor and he gave me thirty days to find a new doctor. I told him what I was told because I thought the P.A. should have discussed this with my primary care doctor and maybe contact Dr. Levy to see what was going on. Dr. Levy's ego was hurt and he wouldn't even talk to me. As far as treatment went I had absolutely no doubt that I was getting excellent treatment. If you want to be treated by him just be careful what you say so you don't get dumped also. I didn't think about posting anything. I was given Dr. Howard Levy by United Healthcare in March 2020. Before I even saw the doctor his staff decided they didn't want me as a patient. They refused to give me or my insurance company time to find other medical care. I was diagnosed with a genetic immune disease. My Lawyer calls it Patient Abandonment. Both illegal and unethical. Especially at this time when so many are suffering. Horrible. Unprofessional and rude staff. read more

filled out all paperwork as i was looking for new pcp. office staff said my Anthem blue shield insurance probably would not cover his office. never been a problem or issue ever before. office told me they would have to send to insurance department and they would call me in a few days. well it took over 3 weeks. who needs a medical office with horrible service. probably take forever to get an appointment. read more

Have to agree with previous review that Dr. Levy is very greedy and cares much more about what he can bill you or your insurance than actual care of his patients. He cares not about your financial situation, but just about charging you as much as possible. He refuses to refill routine medications without an unnecessary visit monthly. Billing is a joke, as they charge more than insurance allows up front and then never seem to refund you or change the amount you pay the next time. Very disappointed with his uncaring attitude and the fact that I have never had to wait less than 30 minutes to be seen. Please avoid at all costs. read more

I'm giving two starts because I did like Dr. Levy and his employees. I went there for my first visit as I wanted a new primary doctor. My last primary doctor was not empathetic at all and when I met Dr Levy I could feel that he was very empathetic and I was ecstatic that I finally found a doctor to go to as my primary. I've only been in Yucca Valley for a year. I saw him and he wrote me a script, not pain medication but for muscle relaxation as I have cervical radiography on my left side of my neck and carpal tunnels and muscle spasms. I took it to Rite Aid and I got a call from the pharmacy about two hours later stating that the doctor had canceled my prescription. I asked why and they said they did not know. I called the office and they said that apparently The Rite Aid Pharmacy had called them and refuse to fill it. Now keep in mind I had been to the emergency room less than a week prior to seeing this doctor and I was prescribed 10 pain pills for my migraine, which I have had ongoing migraines most of my life. I let the doctor know this and his staff because I had to fill out basically a novel a paperwork and a list of the medications I take. The only two doctors I've seen out here before Dr Levy at actual doctors offices, I'm not talking about urgent care or emergency rooms, is my psychiatrist and my last primary who also prescribed me two months ago now the same medication for my muscles as Dr Levy had. They said who is dr. Wang and I said that was the emergency room doctor that I told you guys I saw less than a week ago, then they asked about my last primary who prescribe me the same prescription almost two months ago which I had written down and I told them that. I have had a couple Urgent Care visits this year and a couple emergency room visits year. Now because the system doesn't tell you that it's an urgent care or an emergency room it looks as if I'm going to these random doctors. The office did not have the common courtesy to call and ask me any questions. They just cancelled my prescription and discharged me as a patient without calling me. I am appalled, angry, hurt, and very upset that they think this is okay. I should have been contacted and asked and I could have easily told them why I was at the Urgent Care that time or why I was at the emergency room. They basically accused me of Doctor shopping which is so far from the truth it's laughable. They have now refused to see me as a patient because of Rite Aid contacting them and because they did not listen to a word I said when I was trying to explain the other doctor's visits which were only a handful. I do not get prescribed pain medication on a regular basis at all, I barely get prescribed any narcotics at all. I was so happy that I thought I found a good doctor and look at turns out that it's just another doctor who doesn't bother to call and ask you questions he discharged me without any notice I had to call myself to find out. They did not call me to tell me to cancel that prescription or to tell me they had discharged me as a patient. I think this is bad business not to mention very unethical and a medical practice. I'm very upset by the way they acted I find it to be very unprofessional that the doctor thought this kind of behavior is okay. I do not recommend this doctor. I basically begged them to let me come back and to no avail as I was promised a phone call today and I never got one. read more

This great man has kept me alive and walking for about 20 years, the most caring and professional Dr around, He is available 24/7 as I have found out when rushed to emergency Hosp at midnight and my daughter phoned him, he awakened to the call and cared about his patient.. calling the hospital to find out what was going on... many times I have been in such pain and he can find the reason and take care of it... the secret:???? is to obey his rules, listen to him and follow his advice. I am 86, and still driving and able to get up and around, thanks to a great Dr and I don't have to take opioid's to get around... read more

Dr Levy is a rare type of doctor. He is what I term an "Old Fashioned" comprehensive-care physician. It is so great to have a doctor who can treat the whole person. I needed a biopsy in a rather delicate area. He was able to perform, with ease and efficiency, a procedure that would usually require going to a specialist, filling out reams of paperwork, having to attend a pre-op visit and then the "surgery". Dr. Levy completed the procedure in 15 minutes. He treats me as a whole person - NOT just a body part. We are fortunate to have such a Dr. in our area!! read more
