When my dentist told me I needed a root canal, I thought,YEAH -- This pain will go away! That was because of my previous experiences with Boston Endodontics that were very positive ones. The office personnel and his nurse are so friendly and helpful that I got an appointment within two days in the Lynnfield office With Dr. Timothy Gabe. I am going to describe Dr.Gabe by using the letters in his surname as adjectives for my treatment. "G"= Great personality and generous. A very nice man near the waiting room area, who I did not even know was Dr. Gabe, loaned me his special reading glasses to fill out the office forms because I had left mine at home. I noticed that when I gave them back to him, he discreetly sanitized them and put them around his neck. "A"= amiable, affable, and astute. He carefully took another x-ray of the tooth and thoroughly explained everything that he was going to do. He told me in a friendly way that the Novocaine shots would taste like a Pina Colada, and he was absolutely right to the point where I pretended I was relaxing in a lounge chair at an ocean resort!! "B"= Benevolence was shown to me when he generously loaned me his reading glasses, and by reading his biography, I think he is a brilliant doctor who keeps up-to-date with all of our modern technology and innovations In Endodontics. Even though I'm not a regular patient (I wish I were local and could be!), they squeezed in my appointment and Dr. Shamritsky saved the day. Unfortunately, it's a legacy from a misspent youth, before fluoridation, of not having taken care of my teeth as I should have. With all of the procedures, she's never hurt me, even once. The notice said it was my "final notification before collections" -- yet this was literally the first time I had ever been contacted about it. The office has my email and cell number, and they regularly text me for appointments, but never once sent any email, text, or call about this balance. They said they had mailed letters, but I had moved and had specifically informed the office of my new address, so they knew mailed statements wouldn't reach me. Despite that, they never used any of the contact methods I actually receive. The charge itself was for fluoride, which I never would have agreed to if I had known it wasn't covered by my insurance. It was $98 -- something that could easily be written off considering the circumstances. When I explained everything and asked them to comp it, I was told the staff member "did not have the authority" to adjust the balance. But after I mentioned that I would leave an honest review describing the situation, suddenly she did have the ability to offer 25% off. That made it clear that the earlier "I don't have the authority" line was simply a pressure tactic, not the truth. Overall, the lack of communication, the inaccurate claim that I had received multiple notices, and the sudden shift in what they "could" do once I pushed back all felt really unprofessional. I would recommend being extremely cautious with this office, especially around billing and transparency.

And when Dr. Zinger retired, I was very upset because she was the only one I trusted. I'm delighted to say that Dr. Faibish, who took over the practice, is also a fabulous dentist. He is so calm and mellow that it's hard to feel anxious around him. I just had two old fillings replaced and it was quick and painless. Everyone in the practice is very nice too. I highly recommend them to anyone--even the most fearful.
