Dr. Pareek is the best! I am not a particularly great patient, ie, am a senior who at this point does pretty much nothing towards dental care except brush teeth and see a dentist for emergencies. That dentist has been Dr. Pareek for about 15 years, and her care has been priceless. Yesterday, she extracted a tooth which had been giving me all sorts of grief for 58 years (it was treated by different dentists years ago, with worse and worse problems, until eventually I didn't want anything done with it any more, except wait for it to decay completely. That had happened recently, ie, the tooth finally cracked and fell apart). Dr. Pareek did the extraction flawlessly, quickly, and without pain (despite the rampant infection in and around the cracked tooth). She provides amazingly good and comfortable dental care. Now I'm recovering and feeling fantastic! read more

I had a very disappointing experience here. Before my treatment, I asked multiple times for the total cost of everything, and I was told clearly that the amount I paid was the full and final balance. Months later, I received an unexpected bill for additional charges, even though no one ever told me there would be more costs. On top of that, when they called me to come in for my crown appointment, the crown wasn't even at the office. They told me it would take 10 business days, but it took almost double the time. The whole process felt completely disorganized, and I never felt like I was given accurate information. Overall, this was a frustrating and stressful experience, and I wouldn't recommend this office based on how my case was handled. read more

Something is surely up if you visit a new dentist and suddenly need a ton of dental work. My last cleaning was end of February 2025, zero cavities/issues. I went for a cleaning at North End Dental Associates in August and suddenly had (7) cavities in the span of less than (6) months. The front desk person told me let's fill (3) of the (7) and it'll cost about $36 net of insurance for each filling. This price seemed reasonable for me. I went in, and a different person was working the desk first quoted me $610.00 for the (3) fillings. I asked for an itemized bill which they could not provide, so I could review if this was net of dental insurance. The front desk person did some tweaking and brought the (3) fillings down to $268, still unable to produce an itemized bill for my review. I walked out of the appointment. I did not trust what was going on here and it seemed to me this practice pushes all dental work on their patients. I regretfully scheduled my husband for a cleaning here, and the same antics occurred. We won't be returning to North End Dental Associates. P.S. the practice on Hanover Street needs to be completely gutted. It is not clean, there is zero attempt at privacy when getting your cleaning, the front desk person had a slice of pizza on her keyboard. You don't walk in and think, I want to get dental work here. As someone who had less than stellar experiences as a child with dental care, I am always reticent about going to have dental work done. My experience with Dr. Liza Issac has been amazing. On my first visit she did a deep cleaning that left me without any pain. Amazing! This was all done in the friendliest of manner, and I knew immediately that Dr. Issac was a professional who put me at complete ease. When I went back for the second visit it was without any trepidation and the results were fantastic. Again no pain, and Dr. Issac was so caring and gentle. I wish I had read all the poor reviews of this place before I let them scam me out of hundreds of dollars. What started with "one filling" ended in 4 visits, an infection, and so so so much pain. When I finally went for a second opinion the other dentist even said I was screwed by them. It got so bad I ended up needing a root canal for that tooth months later. To top it all off they refused to send over my paid for X-rays to my new providers out of spite. I wish I could write a good review however I have been let down numerous times by North End Dental. In terms of the front desk staff, I was treated very unprofessional and almost disrespectful manner. The first time I tried booking an appointment the lady that picked up scheduled me for an appointment for later that week and I was told that I would receive a confirmation. Two days later I had yet to receive a confirmation so I called the office only to find out that I was not even booked. The second time I tried making an appointment, the lady seemed tired but she was able to book me an appointment for the following week at 2pm. I had received the confirmation and thought everything was all set until the following day when I received a phone call stating that their office closes at 2pm and they forgot to block off the calendar even though it states on their website they close at 5pm. There was no apology and when I stated that I would just cancel all together she was quite rude in her tone of voice. I am upset by the lack of customer service on North End Dental's end and I hope that they will do better for others because they were disrespectful towards me. read more

First time needing a dentist in the US, worst experience of my life. Despite the kindness of the nurse, the doctor that visited me didn't even introduced herself, couldn't recognize a cavity despite 10 x-rays and a panoramic, and then she came up with "we just need to extract your wisdom teeth, that's where you have huge cavities".. but I don't even have my wisdom teeth out and they never hurt! The lack of competence and ability to even communicate with the patient was outrageous. Never again and avoid it at all costs! read more

I don't remember the name of the dentist I saw (it wasn't Dr. Pareek but a white woman with red hair), but she was sooo condesending to her assistant because her assistant didn't have English as her primary language, getting angry because her assistant responded more slowly than would someone who had English as their first language. Then she was very harsh with my teeth. I've never had a dentist make me pull back my head, close my mouth, and wince, and when I did so that she never apologized for hurting me. Don't go here. Got a few fillings done and they never felt right. I went back in a few days later because I knew something was wrong and the doctor said they were fine and there was no chance the fillings were done improperly. Well months later and still in pain, I got a second opinion. Turns out I have to get all of these fillings redone because she did a bad job. One of them apparently cracked almost immediately after the initial filling which is why I've been in pain since the fillings were done. Wow. That coupled with the fact that the dental assistant was the most incompetent individual I have ever encountered, repeatedly triggering my gag reflex by shoving the instruments so far down my throat I was on the verge of tears the entire appointment (never had this happen at a dentist before)! All in all, the practice is shabby, the techs are inexperienced, and I'm now hundreds of dollars out of pocket for fillings done wrong. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

I booked an appointment for a cleaning a while back, and left in tears. After taking a brief examination of my teeth (without taking or reviewing any x-rays), Dr Shivani determined that I had 11 cavities. I was shocked, but continued with the appointment. She continued to gaslight me into thinking I had poor dental hygiene and I must "hate the dentist" due to my quiet demeanor. The truth was I could barely respond to her questions and comments because I was holding back tears. I proceeded to the front desk to book my appointments to fill these "cavities", and come to terms with the thousands of dollars I would consequently be spending. I ended up going to back to my home dentist to get a second opinion, and he determined that I had ONE cavity. So, I was almost completely scammed into spending thousands of dollars on fillings I didn't even need. Not to mention, the office seemed dingy and unclean, and nowhere close to the standards set by other more reputable offices I've been to. The Best Dentistry Practice in Boston! I am so grateful for North End Dental; they fit me in for any given work every time I come home from college. They make sure I know what's going on with my teeth without giving me a guilt trip about it, which is a huge plus for me, since every dentist I've been to before loved to tell me how bad I'm doing with my tooth care. Yikes. Never even made it to the appointment. Booked on ZocDoc. Call day of to confirm what I need to bring as a new patient. They hadn't checked their zocdoc account in a few days and the doctor wasn't actually available at that time. A little strange, but no worries, rescheduled to Wednesday. Get a call Tuesday asking me if I can reschedule to an earlier appt I say no, they say they'd call back. I get a call from a different receptionist literally a minute later "Hello calling to confirm your appointment tomorrow." They denied knowing anything about needing to reschedule and said I was all set. Of course I get a call Wednesday saying the doctor would be having an emergency later that afternoon and needed to reschedule. I say No thanks, I'm just going to find another practice. Thursday I get a call asking me how my appointment went. I've never heard of a receptionist calling just to see how you enjoyed your visit, I feel as though they were trying to get me to reschedule. She acted shocked when I told her my appointment had been cancelled and she told me the doctor wasn't ever going to be in on Wednesday. Which is confusing on so many levels that they would've scheduled an appointment that day, cancelled it because the doctor had an emergency, and then called to follow up on how my appointment was? How are you calling to follow up to see how my appointment was, acting shocked when I tell you it got cancelled, and then 30 seconds later telling me the doctor wasn't ever going to be in? I have no idea what the whole scam was here, my guess is that they never had any later appointments and were trying to wear me down until I agreed to a noon appointment. This is hands down the most bizarre series of interactions I've ever had with a doctor's office. read more

I chipped my front tooth and since this was the only place open on a Saturday morning, I made an appointment. Turns out I chipped it to the point where the nerve was exposed, so I had to have an emergency root canal, as well as a crown put in.They did a fine job on the root canal, but they did a HORRIBLE, I repeat HORRIBLE job with the crown. I am not a person to write review, but I had to because I had an awful experience here, with unsatisfying results and still suffering today. My first impression of this place was that the dentist was talking to me like she was trying to get scare me and get more business out of me. I should have got it then, but since I needed work to get done and didn't have time to search for another dentist, I made the decision to continue and get it over with. Worst mistake I ever made for my teeth. She completed the root filling and crown after exactly 5 sittings (2 months)... WTH.. 5 SITTINGS? Ok if that wasn't enough, the crown felt like a marble piece which was not structured to be chewed on. I've had a crown before, at a lesser price, so I know its supposed to feel like a natural tooth and not like a marble. After a few days, I felt like there was a gap between my the crown and the next tooth, which made it painful on chewing food. So I went back to her and instead of fixing it, she went on to argue that that's normal and shouldn't be a problem. After continually insisting, she applied some dental bonding and I felt that the gap had been bridged. I tried chewing and it didn't hurt me anymore, so I was satisfied with this tooth. Today, months after my root filing and crown, It started hurting again and sensitive on drinking cold water. Nightmare!!! It feels like the root filling was not don't well, and I might have to redo the whole root and crown again. What a waste of my money here.... Hoping to get a good dentist soon, so I don't experience the same disaster again. read more

This office also did not have a billing provider in 2018 when I went...so I just now, in December 2019, received a bill for what they had forgotten to bill me the first time, plus fees for not having paid sooner (they claimed they sent me five previous notices, but I received none of them). read more

This is my new dentist office. I had an accident on a Saturday night and broke both front teeth. I tried EVERY office in Boston, with no luck. Dr. Pareek of North End Dental was the only to return my call, and immediately scheduled an appointment. The entire staff is very friendly and incredibly professional. They have very friendly receptionists and flexible scheduling which is ideal for appointments during the week. They're conveniently located in the North End and should be more popular, in my opinion. I went to this place to get my teeth extracted as i was suffering from a severe wisdom teeth pain. the receptionist, doctor and assistant was very helpful and friendly. however their panoramic x ray didn't work so she took a normal x ray and decided to pull out my teeth. everything was ok, except that at the end i didn't get a written sheet where everything is written in terms of what i have to do and all. I think they are very friendly and nice but can be a bit more organized. read more

I found an appointment here quickly on ZocDoc. While the location is convenient, the office itself is shabby. The medical assistant was quite incompetent and infuriating... She made me hold the X-ray arm, kept swinging it and almost hitting me, and took insufficient /poor pictures (according to my current dentist ). Dr. Pareek herself was fine (though she did try to push tooth whitening treatments on me for my next visit), but the overall experience with her office and staff was very poor. First off, I want to say I have no problem with Dr. Sara Pareek and her skills as a dentist. I only had a cleaning and exam done, and she was very professional. Explaining everything in detail on my cleaning and the need to get a deep scaling done. Today was the day I was supposed to have that deep scaling done. I did not have it done because of her staff. The receptionist or biller refused to listen to my information or request that my cleaning is covered under my dental plan. It's a calendar year not every 6 months. I clearly stated this 3 times but was ignored apparently. She insisted I was wrong, she said last week, I owe 110 dollars for the cleaning. With a loaded office and people waiting I didn't want to make a seen. I handed the credit card off swiped it for the 110 dollars and made my appointment for today for the deep scale cleaning. The next day I called my Dental plan, and they confirmed that I should not have paid the 110 dollars that I am covered. I called the biller back at Pareeks office the same day and she said we will straighten it all out before the appointment today....today was the appointment and guess what? The biller said that my dental plan does not covering the cleaning.. I told her to hold on, let me go outside. I go to my car call my dental plan and they reconfirmed the cleaning last week was covered. I went back into the office and was telling the biller that I have my plan rep, on the phone saying that they will cover it. She still stood her ground! I couldn't believe it. Next, the hygienist gets involved and starts snickering and mumbling to himself. When I called him on it and said what's going on, that's when Pareek came out of the room to diffuse the situation. She told the hygienist to apologize to me which never happened and he stayed in the corner while the rest of us adults tried to settle this. The biller still refused and stood her ground on why she did what she did. Yes, I was angered and frustrated. Snickering, not calling my dental plan to find out about billing and standing on some ridiculous ground? They were out of line. Then Pareek asks if I still wanted the deep scaling done today? How can I allow them to do service to me after what just happened? To have a snickering dental assistant or hygienist or whatever he is work on me or in the same room while they hold onto my 110 dollars and then demand another 170 dollars for todays deep scaling and everything is ok? NO! Hell no!...now they are charging me 52 dollars because I didn't take the appointment today and as of 4:47 pm on 2/17/2016 they have not reimbursed my debit card. Is there an honest dentist out there with a staff who actually listens to their clients? It's not the money...it's jump change...it's the principal. This is a one-woman part-time 2 floor walk-up operation in a tiny room with little room.They overcharged for teeth-cleaning, overcharged for exray and told me I had more cavities to be refilled. They were fine when I spoke to my out-of-state regular dentist... They can accomodate you quickly because they have so few patients...Their flexible evening hours are for tourists that cannot find anyone else. And her greatest concern is asking how much insurance you have first, so she can get covered for all the extras she says are needed in your mouth.. Sweet, yes, understanding, yes, however unethical and always looking to bill you for more work than you need.. This dental practice is the most disrespectful I've ever been to and experienced ever ! The most uncomfortable experience in a dental chair . While having my mouth open and not being able to talk had this dentist and her assistant laughing in their Indian language ( sorry don't know the dialect) and then asking in broken English uncomfortable questions about my teeth that made my soul cry inside ) this happened a couple of years back and still haunts me ...making point blank remarks to an eating disorder that I might have ?!! assistant more rude than the dentist but hey doctor Pareek you took an oath to treat patients with respect and not harm you should never engage with your assistant in such a conduct be professional and respectful never laugh in your language on top of your patients you should be ashamed of things like this ! tl;dr - Don't go. I came to this dentist because of the Yelp reviews, I'm new to the area. I am actually *shocked* people have rated it so highly. I went for a normal check-up/clean-up. I walked into the facility onto cardboard boxes they are subbing for a rug I am assuming? The equipment is outdated, the one chair/area that they have for patients is cluttered and messy. The bathroom (I believe they share it with other offices on the floor) is more disgusting than gas stations in Jersey - which was a huge concern for me considering it's a Doctor's office. The assistant has a serious attitude problem. She is the type of person that clearly hates her life/job and will take the opportunity to snap at any tiny little thing.... I'm holding the xray thing wrong! my mouth is too small! She also got toothpaste IN my eye to the point where I needed to stop and adjust my contact (needed to eventually take out my contact). But nope that was my fault too! I am exclaiming to someone who hasn't been to this person - this is THE worst cleaning job you could want from visiting the dentist. The Dr herself is very nice as is the front desk woman. However, based on the overall unprofessional experience I am very skeptical about her recommendation for 2 crowns (no cavities). read more

I ended up at this office after an unexplained and unbearable pain in my mouth kept me up and nearly in tears all night. By 8 am I couldn't take it anymore, so I picked the closest dentist I could find, which happened to be this one, and gave them a call. It was early morning, Saturday, I had never been a patient here before, and I had no idea what I even needed done- yet they were more than happy to help me. The dentist actually came all the way into town just to take care of me. By 9:15 am she was already looking at my teeth. Talk about good customer service! She was extremely kind and helpful. She examined my teeth, took an x-ray, explained the problem, and wrote me two prescriptions, all within 2 hours of my emergency dental phone call. She even offered to come back in just to see me the next day or the day after if my tooth didn't improve. I absolutely hate the dentist, but this experience was surprisingly pleasant. The price was fair, too- 165$ total for everything, and that's without any insurance either. The office is also conveniently located directly across the street from a CVS.Pharmacy, so I was able to have my prescription filled within ten minutes of leaving her office. I would highly recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

I am writing this review in total amazement for several different reasons. First and foremost, I would like to address Sindy A's review of the North End Dental Associates. I, myself, have been a patient of Dr. Pareek's for 2 years now. I have never had any issues with the office's cleanliness. I love the fact that they have white cabinets so it makes it very easy to spot out any stains or dirt. I cannot comment on Sindy's comparison of the office to a subway bathroom because fortunately I have never used a subway bathroom. However, I imagine the bathrooms in the subway are awful. I would never allow someone who works in such a disgusting environment to take care of my teeth. I do not go to Dr. Pareek because she is a provider within my insurance. Since, I pay out of pocket I can go anywhere I would like to and in the past I have. I prefer this office. I am not sure how long ago Sindy went to the office but the assistant I often see there has more of a raspy voice than a high pitch piercing sound. Also, I am not expert in Xray technology. But even as an Economist I know that when someone is taking xrays they have to step out of the room. This would explain why the assistant was running in and out of the room like a "lunatic." I do agree that the plus side to this office is that there is always an appointment available. But this is due to the fact that Dr. Pareek will schedule appointments during her lunch break and also after normal office hours. Thank goodness for her flexible scheduling, I am able to not miss a day at work but can take care of my teeth. If you would like to go to a dentist who actually cares if you are comfortable in her office and constantly asks you if you are ok, this is exactly where you want to be. read more

Traveling through Boston on business and needed an emergency extraction. They answered the phone at 11pm Saturday evening and took me in at 8am on a Sunday morning. Solved the problem in a very short time. They exercised patience I couldn't have mustered because I am a difficult person sometimes. AVOID THIS COMPANY. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND SCAMMERS. Complaints are too much to detail. I am exploring other actions. Let me simply list a few, very small office, very bad mannerism of front desk personnel (unprofessional), constantly pushing high cost crown for over 4 grand which was not necessary, poor dental skills...left a ton of metal bits in my mouth, very rough, rarely used suction and never offered a rinse, went in with a mild irritation of a tooth that was filled elsewhere, dentist removed filling and broke the tooth (went in with solid tooth got out with a huge hole), she then put in a plastic temporary filling and planned to see me in two days. Called to cancel and never made follow-up appointment after 2 weeks. Several calls to the office but it was constantly closed. Managed to get a Friday sudden appointment that turned out to be not convenient for my job. Turned up the Monday to discuss my treatment and was disrespected. Now I am left to believe that my tooth was deliberately broken off to get me to pay for a crown. When I complained, I had a quick chat with office manager who said that masshealth customers are not a priority. I opted to leave, and the receptionist threw my id at me. BELIEVE IT!!! This happened.
