When we arrived, the office told us they do not accept our insurance. They said we could either pay out of pocket, or schedule with another doctor and wait several days for the new appointment. Several people at the office told us that should have been caught when the appointment was scheduled, and yet the front office lady still treated us like garbage - like we should have known this wouldn't be considered continued care from the hospital surgery. Because my wife was in such severe pain and worried about being on narcotics for so long, we felt we had no practical option but to pay out of pocket. After reading about similar situations happening to other patients (not necessarily at this practice, but in general), it made me wonder whether situations like this could raise consumer protection concerns. Patients are often in pain and feel they have little choice when they are already at the appointment. I will be filing a complaint with the state Attorney General so they can review the situation and determine whether this kind of issue should be addressed.

Very rude, actually walked out of my father's appointment. My father is elderly, and recently…read moresuffered a UTI. Dr. Moran treated my father in the hospital and told him to come to his office later. The day we arrived, we had to wait over an hour, before we were finally seen. The doctor came in and said I'd like to operate, but you'd probably die. My father is in poor health, and actually suffered heart failure while at the hospital. Dr. Moran came across as very insensitive, and kept making jokes that seemed really uncalled for. He then said he'd like to take the catheter out and see what happens. This very much unnerved my father, mother, and myself. Especially because it was late in the day. We asked the nurse if we could do this a different time, especially because of the probability of complications. At first he said we could do it in the morning, but became very irritated because my father's schedule is crowded with multiple doctor appointments. Also he cannot walk on his own, and it takes me at least an hour to carry him out of the house, and put him in a wheelchair. He then threw his hands in the air, and said something about well I can't help you, and he left the room. We got up an left after that.
