I called Microserve Technologies because they do printers only and specifically HP printers. They were very patient on the phone and worked out a house visit schedule quickly. Maurice arrived promptly and was friendly, knowledgeable, and prepared with the right parts. He was very methodical and fixed/cleaned the mechanical transport system and then he upgraded the firmware and made several changes to settings to make the printer work better. They took care of all this for a low fixed labor cost plus parts, and no travel time charge. This is about as good as it gets. Totally happy with the service.

I…read moreemphasized to him that I needed to have it back on Monday, and he assured me that would not be a problem. He would do the diagnostic and have it fixed or return it to me on Monday. He had me drop off my computer for repair on a Thursday and told me that he would look at it on Friday. On Friday, when I called him, he told me he would look at it on Saturday and call me. On Saturday when i called him around 5pm, he told me he would get to it on Sunday. He may be the greatest computer repair guy in the world, but I could not trust his reliability and/or his word. Terrified that I had somehow caused permanent damage to my shiny new laptop, I desperately looked for a repair place near my office. These guys were close by and said they'd take a look at it while I waited, so I ran over there on my lunch break. When I explained the problem, the guy said he was pretty sure he knew what happened and proceeded to not only fix it, but fix it right in front of me, explaining what he was doing, so I could do it myself if the same thing happened again. I was there for about 10 minutes total, but I happily wrote a check for $50, knowing that was the ONLY time I'd have to do it. Since then, I have not only used the fix he taught me MULTIPLE times on my own laptop, I even taught a couple of my friends the same trick, saving them a trip to the repair shop.
