Received X-RAYS first and the girl performing the X-rays was so kind and asked many questions if I had any particular concerns etc. So I needed a deep clean. My insurance covered about 90% of it I believe so I paid only $100. The cleaning was great. I have nothing negative to say about this office. I felt so comfortable and happy here. I highly recommend this office to everyone.

I very much appreciate Dr. Kim's detailed dental check since my teeth have been sensitive on one side. Previously, Dr. Kwon suggested that I would need a root canal and crown sooner or later, so I was so glad to know that I didn't need to have any special treatment done this time and that I just needed to brush lighter and with a softer brush. Dr. Kim is also very caring and observant of issues and needs I may have. The dental hygienist Esther also did a great job cleaning my teeth. She has been cleaning my teeth for a couple years now. She friendly, gentle, and patient. The receptionist was friendly as well. She booked my next biannual cleaning rig HR when I checked in. They can be hard to book sometimes, so booking in advance helps a lot. Got a goodie bag with a toothbrush and toothpaste after my cleaning. Glad they had toothpaste for sensitive teeth available.

By 4:45 pm, my daughter texted me to let me know that she's still waiting to be called in so i came inside to check what was going on and at that point, the receptionist stated she thought my daughter was "waiting for someone," which was confusing and concerning. If patients are required to sign in, it is reasonable to expect that the sign-in sheet is actively reviewed. Otherwise, the purpose of having patients sign in is unclear. My daughter even told me that one of the receptionist with blond hair acknowledged her when she waved hello and signed in her name so I don't understand why the other receptionist twisted things around saying they didn't know my daughter was there for her appointment and requested us to reschedule to another day. I took time off work and pulled my daughter out of school early for this appointment, only for our time to be wasted and the blame shifted onto a minor who had properly checked in. Extremely unprofessional and disorganized. We will not be returning.

unfortunately my recent experience with the office team has not been very good…read more i previously had a dental crown procedure with this office and i loved the experience, from booking to the operation. this was last year, i have since switched insurances and wanted to return to apex dentistry. previously i was quoted about 1k for wisdom teeth removal. my new insurance has advised they cover this procedure fully. i called earlier this week and was advised to call later to speak to the office administrator. they did not offer to take my info down, just to call later. well i called later on and requested the office administrator. the office administrator had actually answered the call, but she advised to call back tomorrow. i was confused because all i needed was them to update my information and check if my insurance covers this procedure fully. i advised i was a returning patient and it felt like i was pulling teeth, begging them to at least take my info down. the admin ended up asking for the name of my insurance and my callback number. they advised they would call the next day between 1-5. that was the last i heard from them! it's been a few days and at this point, i may not want to return. the staff was inattentive and did not return my call. that is quite unfortunate because they are local and i liked the dentist and was confident in his work.

We began a procedure at the beginning of Covid, but was paused due to the pandemic. Although they already collected funds, they did not leave me high and dry. Once businesses returned to normal, they proactively scheduled me to finish the job. Dr. Uppal never let me leave his office unless the procedure was done to a high standard of quality even if that meant spending more of his team's time to get it done correctly. He does not "upsell" you with any superfluous work. I am very happy with the smile they have helped me to achieve. I would return to Apex and recommend them.

A complete waste of time and money - misleading and unprofessional…read moreI am beyond frustrated with this office. I called ahead specifically to ask if they perform wisdom tooth extractions, and they said yes. It was a complete waste of time and money. 1. Outdated Equipment: Their X-ray machine is ancient. The sensor kept falling out of my mouth, and they ended up taking a Full Mouth Series (FMS) of small individual shots instead of a proper Panoramic X-ray needed for wisdom teeth. When I went to the specialist they referred me to, those X-rays were useless, and I had to pay for new ones. 2. Questionable/Lazy Medical Advice: I have two lower wisdom teeth that are growing horizontally, literally pushing into my adjacent teeth. Any decent dentist knows this causes long-term damage, yet the dentist here claimed they "don't need to be pulled." It felt like he just didn't want to deal with the procedure. 3. The "Bait-and-Switch": For my upper wisdom tooth, he suddenly claimed they don't perform extractions there and referred me out. Why tell me you do extractions over the phone, charge me $120 for a consultation and bad X-rays, only to tell me you can't help me once I'm in the chair? 4. Poor Service: Getting my own digital records was a struggle. I had to call multiple times just to get the images I paid for. They are clearly more interested in collecting consultation and X-ray fees than actually helping patients. If you need honest dental work and modern technology, stay far away from this office.

I'm Vietnamese and I know most Asians are about financial gain and not about health. We took the dentures to another Orthodontic Implant specialist and were told that the dentures were not aligned properly my Mom was in pain due to being poorly made. It is about quality, not quantity. Your health should be more important than someone who is trying to make a profit.

With my love for adrenaline-driven adventures, I can say I have a brave soul. And yet, I am a total wuss when it comes to dentists and I would come up with all kinds of excuses to avoid that anesthesia injection. But Dr. Marin's professional but friendly demeanor can put the most anxious patient at ease. The rapport he has with his patients is what sets him apart from all the other dentists I have seen. He takes the time to explain things and he is never in a rush to get to the next patient. Today, I finally came for my filling and as expected, I was asking for the numbing gel before I even sat on the chair. But Dr. Marin's hands are so light I didn't even flinch from that dreaded numbing injection I managed to avoid for months. He's also great with kids! And when you're a parent with a scared child, that can make all the difference. I also would be remiss if I don't acknowledge Dr. Marin great team. They are courteous, friendly and always accommodating. I have never had a negative experience dealing with any of them. And my, are they on top of appointments! Dental visits are never fun. And that's why finding a dentist like Dr. Marin is all the more critical. Kudos to him and his staff for taking care of my family's dental care all these years. Please don't retire.

I was a patient at this practice for several years before relocating out of California in 2021…read more After recently moving back, I returned because I had previously had positive experiences here, particularly with Dr. Zak, who was always professional. Unfortunately, my recent experience was very different and led me to find another dentist. I returned with a specific concern about an area on my gum that I wanted evaluated. I called ahead, explained why I was coming in, and arrived prepared for treatment. Once brought back, the visit immediately moved into their standard diagnostic process, including regular X-rays, 3D imaging and photographs, before I had really discussed the concern that brought me in. I asked why the X-rays were being done. This was not a refusal. I was simply asking what we were doing and why. The question seemed to catch the staff member off guard. When the doctor (Dr Abu) came over, much of his explanation centered on the fact that I had not been to their office since 2021. This convo was also in an open space. I completely understand that. I completed the entire diagnostic process, including the X-rays, 3D imaging and photographs. I was never questioning the clinical need. My concern was the approach. There is a difference between explaining how updated imaging will help evaluate a patient's oral health and repeatedly emphasizing how long it has been since that patient was last there. I had relocated out of state and only recently returned to California. More importantly, providers do not always know why someone has experienced a gap in care. People relocate, lose insurance, experience financial hardship, or go through circumstances a provider knows nothing about. Repeatedly focusing on that gap can come across as judgment/presumption rather than clinical explanation. I tried to explain this distinction directly to the doctor at the end. I made clear that I understood why the workup was necessary and was not questioning his clinical competency. I was giving feedback about the communication and patient experience. Even then, he continued returning to the fact that I had not been there since 2021 defensively. That point was not being heard. By the end, I was presented with more than $600 in recommended services after insurance. I had the money and had gone there prepared to begin treatment that day. I declined because I was no longer comfortable continuing care with that doctor. This was not about being unwilling or unable to pay. It was about the experience. I later sent the practice written feedback and received no response. I have since established care with another dentist. My takeaway is that this practice operates through a highly standardized process. That may work well for patients who prefer a polished, modern, corporate-style dental office. The office is "friendly" in a performative sense, but my experience did not feel warm or individualized. If you have one immediate concern and want it evaluated first, with a conversation about what is necessary before moving into a larger workup or treatment plan, I would ask very specific questions when scheduling. Based on my experience, their standard comprehensive process appears to take priority over tailoring the initial visit around the concern that brought the patient in. There is nothing inherently wrong with a standardized process. The issue is when it leaves little room for curiosity about the person moving through it. Patients can understand that their teeth need work and why imaging is necessary while still deserving clear explanations, sensitivity, privacy and participation in their care without feeling judged. I returned because I had previously trusted this practice. I arrived prepared to spend more than $600 on treatment and ultimately chose to spend that money elsewhere. For me, that decision came down to the patient experience, not the treatment recommendation. I also did not appreciate discussing my concern with Dr Abu in an open X-ray area near the hallway and front desk. It felt unnecessarily impersonal too.
