Over the last dozen years we have spent long weekends here every six months or so.Both Jess and Courtney were awesome this past weekend. It's always good to visit the cats Mort and Lawrence they provide a nice ambience. Brian is in the process of finishing up the building across the street known as the Big Deck, slated to be opened up by the Pirates Festival coming up . Is a curious ecclectic bar that's slaked a thirst a time or two. I'm so very happy to see them open given the area's hardship and happy to spend a little time here just because. Was warm hospitality and friendly patrons looking to spin yarns. Is always some good fun ...and they have resident cats! Had a great experience talking to the locals. Brian was wonderful. Don't feel intimated to go in and say hi as we're from CA and it was great. The cats are a bonus. Friendly and will sit in front of you for "pets". Nicer than the bartender upstairs. read more

Some of the rudest people you'll find in the Cedar Key. The blonde haired lady was so rude. Had a great day at the art festival and she ruined it. After everything Cedar Key has been through you would have thought she would have welcomed the business. She needed to know how many beverages we would buy before we could go up to see the guy singing. He sounded great. Hope he finds a better venue! read more

Nice place. Very dark inside, but cool chalk menu on the ceiling. Chose to have a Kendal Jackson and watch the rainbow and dolphins on the deck. Decor was something out of the movies mermaids and sea really cool. Friendly service. read more

In deciding which spot to chill and grab a drink while still being able to remain social distanced and hear some live music, this was truly the best spot! The outdoor deck along Dock Street allowed for open air, plenty of people watching, listening to live music from across the street at the Big Deck and great beer option! When I went inside to grab a drink, there was a long list and when I saw they had Lazy Magnolia....I stopped reading at that point. I hadn't had one of those in quite a while... DONE! I sat outside, listened to some live "yacht rock" across the street, watched some people. Really chill atmosphere and seems to get very crowded very quickly. I would definitely come here again. It's hard to find words to describe this place. It's part dive bar, part antique store, part (seemingly) storage shed, and part game room. In a place like Cedar Key that thrives off tourism, Liam and Madi's Bar appears to be where the locals hangout. The kind of place where beer names are written on a chalk board for anyone who doesn't already know what's on tap. The interior decor makes you feel like you're in a museum of sorts, and the bathrooms are actually located through the bar, out on the back deck, and around the corner. That back deck is one of the unique things about this bar: it overlooks water and is a great place to watch the sunset or dolphins swim by. There are a couple of bar cats that wander around and have their own enclosed area. The drinks were cheap and the bartenders friendly enough. Overall this bar is not for everyone but it's worth checking out for sure. read more

This little "gem" was a great spot to cool off on one of the hottest days in July. It's eclectic and definitely has a dive bar meets thrift store vibe. Not sure if anything is actually for sale, but lots of interesting things to meander over. The bartender (owner) was great! She let us in with our well behaved pup. She gave lots of recommendations to check out on the island. They had a good craft beer selection and were nice and cold. The complimentary popcorn reminded us of our favorite places back home. Service was anemic, followed by watered down Whiskey, yes watered down remarkable that this behavior is still around today. And then the bar tender doesn't know how to make a simple drink: bourbon old fashioned. First time i have ever seen one that is pink. Like a tequila sunrise made with bourbon, except you couldn't taste the bourbon it was watered down too. There are other choices, pick anywhere but here. read more

If your not a local do not even think about coming to this bar. We were staying with friends who own a place in Cedar Key looking for a fun night, this being the only bar open late this was our option. We walked in and asked what flavors of white claws were available and were told by the bartender "whatever my hand lands on, I will not be left with all of the bad flavors". When bringing to owners attention he gave bartender a high five and laughed. 0 customer service is experienced here. Also, when asking what a shot of tequila was we were told "it's expensive". This dump is nasty. They advertise frozen drinks for $4; they have a Pina Colada and a strawberry Margarita for that and both are too sweet to drink. Bartender was wearing a "Let's Go, Brandon" T-shirt and I'm not partial to having a side of politics with my food and drink. The bar flys were overly friendly. Credit where due: the deck overlooking the water was very nice. Will not return; too many decent alternatives nearby. read more

This place is horrible, bar tender swearing, disrespectful. Told my husband that if he wanted salt, to go get it over at the popcorn machine. Stayed for 10 minutes and couldn't wait to get out of there. read more
