This company is the best! I had a problem with my gate and he came and fixed it all in less than an hour! This was the best service I ever had with my gate. Other people said I needed new parts and gave me an expensive quote. Simon came and was completely honest- I just needed a tune up and it fixed the problem. He is the best and most reliable and honest person to work with. Highly recommended! More detail- my gate wouldn't open half the time- I thought it was a bad belt. I had some other companies come by and they said "you need a new belt and new bolts..." or "the sensor is too old and you need a new system..." I send a Yelp message to Simon and he contacted me in less than 15 minutes. He then drove out to my place in less than 30 minutes. Within 30 minutes he had fixed everything. I have a 25 year old automatic sliding gate that needed to finally be replaced. After checking on Yelp, I reached out to Liam's gates and Simon responded fairly quickly. He sent a technician to diagnose the problem and pretty much confirmed that the gate's motor/electronics had to be replaced. It was old parts in there that could no longer be procured. Fast forward, we had a date set for Simon to come and install the new system. After the installation a week later there was a small glitch and and soon as I contacted Simon, he provided support over the phone and we tried to correct the problem but weren't able to so he came out the following day to fix the minor issue. The electrical connections were lose, no big deal. After experiencing the service I had received from Simon and him coming back out to correct the problem, I would be very happy to recommend him to anyone that is looking for a great company that stands behind their work and he does it happily. it does no good to phone this business or send emails or probably even send a carrier pigeon. They don't repond or they respond when you've already moved on and hired someone else. That's what I did. A friend of mine scouring internet for some business that repairs Liftmaster gate motors found First Garage Doors and Gates and they responded to the phone call immediately. While the tech was repairing the motor the next morning, I think someone from Liam's phoned. Sorry to say I couldn't understand the message but what difference did that make? By the time Liam's got up on the horse, my motor problem was already fixed. In response to Simon's comment: before I phoned, my contractor also phoned last week and left a message -- to which there was also no reply. How long was your holiday? On that point: customers are not mind readers. If you're closed because of a holiday, then say so. The only thing that happened is that the phone rang and went to your message box, and there was no reply. If that was your tech who phoned me, I listened to the msg but saw no reason to reply since the tech from First Doors was outside and fixing the gate motor. So, Simon, don't put my poor review of your business practices on me. read more

We set up an appointment with Jordan and he and Simon were on-site the next day to survey, give us an estimate and provide our HOA with some options. Beware of this company. He came to my place to give me a quote. I explicitly explained to him what I wanted, which was a pedestrian gate with a keypad lock. He later sends me the quote for a gate with a deadbolt lock. I didn't think much of it, I figured that's what he called it on his end, although i'd told him a keypad lock. When came to take final measurements and obtain deposit, he mentioned to his worker a deadbolt lock. I interjected saying, i specifically requested a keypad lock, he said, "I didn't quote you for a keypad lock". I asked why not when that's what I explicitly stated? He said, "it will be $900 more, $600 for the keypad lock and $300 for labor. At this point, I just asked him to exist my property, who makes a material mistake as such? I really believe he was trying to hustle me. Told me, "it was a mistake and the price is what it is". Please beware! read more

Simon was great! We purchased a house with a cheap motor to run the heavy iron fence. The gate was spotty on opening regularly. Simon made some adjustments and replaced the old wheels.
