Last time I was without a debit card for two weeks. They sent a replacement card to the wrong address. So they sent a replacement replacement card. Instead of cancelling the card at the wrong address, they cancelled its replacement. I like to keep my money local, but the ineptitude is not worth it. My debit card was just declined on a $3 purchase. After apologizing with embarrassment I called the 800 # on the back of the card because it's 5:07pm and the branches are closed. I was told that my card was reported as stolen. I'm literally holding it. Not that there was fraudulent activity, mind you. Rather that it was stolen. I indicated I did not file a report and asked if the rep could tell me who reported it stolen. Or when it was reported stolen. Nope. No info. So tomorrow I get to interrupt my work day, leave the office and head to a branch. And I get to wait for another debit card to be mailed and *fingers crossed* hope they get it right the first time. Then, yet again, I get to update all my accounts: Netflix, Ipsy, etc etc etc etc. I can't wait to receive a payment declined email a month from now from a company for which I forgot to update. So much unnecessary hassle and frustration. Not. Worth. It. Closing my account and finding a competent credit union ASAP.

Although I'm retired from P&WA I still do most of my financial transactions at this branch, since they know me by name here, and I did all of my banking here prior to retiring from the Middletown facility in 2011. It's a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I do wish they'd open a branch in the North Haven area, closer to where I live though. UPDATE: 11/2/19.... I have had an unsatisfactory experience with America Eagle. I applied for a car loan refinance…read morewith them because they told me they could drop my loan % by 2% or more. They told me in person that the refinance would be of no cost to me and that it would just swap loan holders. After they pulled my credit however the story changed, and not because of poor credit history. American Eagle informed me that if I want to take advantage of this deal I would need to pay them $1,509 up front because "the value of the car just wasn't there" ... who would have thought a car depreciates?! Now I have a negative hard pull on my credit and the story changes. The only reason I agreed to the inquiry was because they told me it would be of no cost to me. Totally unacceptable and unsatisfying. Thank you American Eagle Financial Credit Union, but no thanks on that offer.
