Now the bank has merged and has become Peoples United Bank. The website is crowded, not a pleasure to look at. Customer service leaves much to be desired. With the C-virus stress many are having, drive-up lines can be quite frustrating for customers and that I understand. What I fail to understand are some of the employees. If you can't do your job with-OUT becoming confused, rude and/or nasty, maybe banking isn't for you. There is NO excuse for poor customer service no matter what is going on. Employees are the faces of the bank and used to be what drew people back in to a bank. Customer service when calling the "Call Center" is hit or miss. You might get something with a brain, OR.... you might get some guy who sounds as though you just woke him up and is nursing a hangover and can not pay attention to anything you're saying!! That happened to me today. First waited for 50 minutes for a call-back and when that happened, I was unlucky enough to get what appeared to be a stoned idiot on the other end of the line!! I explained four times what I needed some clarification on and after I got through telling him the fourth time.....he actually asked me what it was I needed him to check on!!! I then said, "what is wrong with you, I just told you four times!" and with that, he hung up on me. Poorly trained and someone who might be better suited for McDonalds, Wendy's or Burger King! I called back, I am on hold, so far for 54 minutes. To say that "PEOPLES UNITED BANK" is a screw up, has changed just about everything from when it was United Bank, and their Call Center is manned by idiots..............is an understatement. There ARE other banks in the area and are always ready to welcome new business. Do your homework before opening an account at PEOPLES UNITED BANK!!

The hours are great they recently increased the hours so it's very convenient for me. My dog loves the drive thru because she always gets a bone and there's lollipops for the kids too. I don't go inside too often but when I do everyone is friendly to me and the line is never more than one or two. Once in a while I get a free notarization. They do have an investment specialist there but I haven't needed that. Interest rates are low everywhere so it's not worth talking about. I do have a free checking account so that's nice. I've never had a problem with them there so I can say you should give them a try. Large parking lot in back and right in the center of Windsor. Oh yeah, they always have free coffee inside. Now if only rates would go back up I'd be a happy camper. I remember in the 80's you could get cd's yielding 12% maybe higher! Now it's a joke.

I am thinking that they are catering to customers who have a MUCH LARGER INCOME. Last year Liberty Bank wasn't charging any fees for having a min. account balance of $1000.00. He took care of my husband quickly and fast. My husband love the bank, so I am glad that he chose to bank here. I didn't open up an account here, but my husband did and he's satisfied. They have 24/7 fraud protection alerts, assist you with investing and a great checking and savings accounts. This location is inside the mall and it's pet friendly.
