In writing this review I hope that I save you from a massive disappointment in working with this company. Headline: this company is set up to scam. Circumstantial Evidence: Try this. Call their 1-866-542-2355. Press 1. This is their Sales Department. You will undoubtedly get someone on the phone immediately. Now. Call the number again and press 4. This is for Existing Claims. I have been on hold waiting for someone for several HOURS...on several occasions. And when I do reach someone, in my case a man named John Davis on all my occasions, the rep is rude, will not get their manager, will not give me their manager's name, will not have corporate call me, and hung up on me when I said that I was recording the call. I chose this company because they were considerably cheaper than the alternatives. I guess I get what I pay for. I hope you don't make the same mistake. Here's my story. I purchased my "warranty" on March 6, 2020. I purchased their best plan, the Platinum Prime Plan (5-years). In February 2021, almost a year later, my 2014 vehicle had trouble shifting. I took it into the mechanic and had the transmission looked at. The mechanic found dark fluid and metal shavings in the pan, a sure sign that the transmission needs to be replaced. This is when Liberty Bell showed its scam of a business. I called nearly a dozen times trying to reach someone in claims. My wait time was as little as 15 minutes (once) and over 3 hours (twice) just to reach a live person. Again, I always reached rude John Davis. I also took snapshots of the wait time from my phone and provided them to Bell. No apology nor acknowledgement. During the 12 days of trying to reach someone, I emailed their support email several times and received 2-word replies at best. My request to have someone from corporate call me was never met. When the claims department finally did respond, they asked for service records. I only had two services completed on the vehicle over the first year that I owned the vehicle. Both of them oil changes. One of the oil changes I did myself. I kept the receipt of the oil and oil filter. The claims department stated that they are denying my claim because I did not have an ASE-certified mechanic do the oil change. What a racket, especially considering that my contract with Bell allows for maintenance work do be done by oneself, as long as one keeps receipts of the parts, which I did and provided to Bell. I am now trying to trigger the arbitration clause in the contract, but I can't do so because I can't reach anyone at Bell. PLEASE, don't give your good money to this scam of a company. You will regret it if you ever need actual warranty coverage. read more

Do not use. They won't cover or pay out anything. Everything is "wear and tear" to them even if the part is listed in the contract. Also the phone service sucks. You can call sales department and get a person in a minute. But if you dial for claims, good luck. You'll be on hold for 30 minutes to an hour minimum. Looking to cancel my policy now. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience trying to get a quote for my 2007 Audi S8. Working with Ryan Hunter in sales, I reviewed their Platinum Prime coverage, which included a line item for suspension, with a big check mark showing that it's covered. In the first conversation after the quote was delivered, I reviewed many parts of the coverage with him, and when it came to suspension, was very careful to ask if the entire air ride system was covered. He even put me on hold to check and came back to affirm that it was covered. I recontacted him this week ready to buy the policy, and asked again, and was told that the pump and controller were covered, but the air suspension itself would not be. It turns out, they don't have any policy that covers the ENTIRE air suspension system. Their competitors do, one of which just replaced the air suspension on one of my other vehicles. I'll be contacting them and others next week. In case this review is being read by Mr Hunter's leadership, I wouldn't have posted this if he hadn't handled today's call the way he did. I gave him the chance to simply apologize and or admit the mistake at the end of our call today. I tried to make the suggestion that he should be more clear when people ask to confirm coverage for expensive items. He wasn't having it, and wanted to argue that he did nothing wrong. At the least, the company, and Mr Hunter, should be advised that the top tier policies their competitors offer do in fact cover the four air towers in the system. read more

Terrible company and plan. My father in law bought a plan from them and was TOLD (word of mouth so no way to hold it against them) that the plan would cover the power train and other components. As the plan physically reads it will only cover specific internal parts if they are the root of the problem. Which also means if the damage to covered parts are caused by uncovered parts then nothing will be covered. In summary, bad coverage on necessary components. It is difficult to get in contact with the necessary people that can answer your questions. Expect to spend hours on the phone, most of the time on hold. read more

Purchased the Platinum Prime for my vehicle, took my car to the dealership to be diagnosed after hearing some noises from underneath. The dealership pointed out the issue and asked if I had a extended warranty on the car. The dealership called Liberty Bell Auto, explained the issue, and Liberty Bell denied the repair, claiming it was apart of the wear and tear. The service advisor pointed out that its not a wear and tear item, and its only replaced or serviced if there is mechanical issues to that part. My advisor pointed out that he was shocked that they denied the claim, and it is covered by most extended warranties. I remember clearly the associate who sold me the plan, was doing everything to get the sale during my phone call. Even coming down by hundreds of dollars from the original quote if I signed up that day. Which I took the bait and now I realize, I made a mistake. Clearly its about making the sale, rather than providing a service. Funny enough, when the rubber hits the road, as with all 'extended warranties', when the time comes to pay up for repairs, they will deny the repair. If you're looking for an extended warranty for your vehicle look elsewhere! I paid about $1700 for this policy and had to fight with them to cover an engine repair in 2019 (repair cost about 1500). They also claim free roadside assistance! The day our car broke down we called for a tow.... we sat there for 2 hours, ended up calling a tow truck and paying for it ourselves. We have since traded the car in and I call to cancel the policy. Richard was great, canceled no problem and told me what my refund would be. 3 hours later Richard calls me back to inform me that because we had a claim on the warranty that they paid I would not be getting a refund! Mind you I have over 3 years left on the policy. The idea of a policy of this nature is to cover repairs, no? So if I kept the car for the next 3 years and continued to make claims in excess of what we paid for the warranty, what then? When you call to inquire about their policies.... OMG everything sounds great, they say they cover this and that...but when you need them to pay all you get is "Oh, that's not covered". Hi I just want to give a warning to anyone that has a BMW and buy this warranty. listen here please do not purchase this warranty these people know that certain BMWs they do not rebuild the engines. When an engine goes bad they just swap it out. What these people do to keep from paying to get your car fixed is they will make you authorize the mechanic to tear down the engine in order to prove what component fell in the engine. the teardown of the engine 9 times out of 10 specially if you at a dealership cost more than the replacement of the engine. and they do not pay for the teardown. they will sell you this warranty knowing when you have an engine problem you will not be able to use it because no one is going to pay more to tear down the existing engine then you would to just pay to replace the engine altogether. If a company makes you authorize your mechanic to tear the engine down to prove what went wrong in the engine then they should pay for it once they find out that it is covered. but that's not the case here they want you to pay for the teardown regardless if it's covered or not. This does not make any sense. Maybe if you have a engine that is re-billable you probably will be fine. but why sell this warranty to someone that has an engine that's not re-billable and then tell them over the phone when they put in a claim. In your case this is unfortunate we're just going by guidelines and protocols after they receive your money. Can you imagine the stress and headache that a person go through to hear something like that after they trusted a company. But they did offer me what I paid into it back. They made an exception after 30 days which is in the contract they don't do they made an exception to pay me back which I gladly excepted because there's nothing I can do with the warranty is totally useless. but they couldn't make an exception and fix the car knowing that the teardown cost more than the replace the engine. At Long Beach BMW of signal Hill California They have new technology these days where they have borescope cameras that can see exactly what's wrong with the engine without a teardown I had just had a valve stem job done so that was ruled out as a potential problem why the car was burning oil shaking. Anyone with common sense knows exactly what they did here they bent the rules to send me back my money that I haven't received yet but they couldn't bend the rules and fix the engine knowing the loophole they have and what they're doing to people but God is good all the time let's see how long the company be around read more

ESPECIALLY when some think this company is set up to scam. Farthest from the truth in our experience and that is all we can speak from, our experience! I feel if you're looking for an extended warranty company, you have come to the right place. "LIBERTY BELL!" I never thought I would see another Titanium Package like this one again. I remembered seeing the commercials from another major extended warranty company after the fact (I don't need to name names) wishing I had known of them prior. So it was a no-brainer that an extended warranty was definitely something we needed with our second Porsche, and we were NOT going to make the same mistake twice. Unfortunately, shortly after contacting this other company, we felt as if we were being sought after like a piece of meat, the phone ringing off the hook from what felt like a 'televised car stalker of extended warranties,' breathing down our necks, feeling this other company would say anything and everything to get our business. I am not sure how we stumbled across LIBERTY BELL, but we were sure happy we did and have been ever since. I don't say this about the other company to be disrespectful. I think it's important to note the difference in companies and what led us to buy from Liberty Bell. Liberty Bell NEVER made us feel like our skin was crawling every time the phone rang, and Frank, our sales person, was stellar and respectful in every way. Look - I believe when there is a company that takes care of it's customers, you take care of that company. It's a two way street and that is why I am writing this review. Since owning our second (used) 2006 Cayenne S, we have had two issues come up in the short time owning her and thank God for my sales guy Frank and his team who pulled through for us and put us at ease. BOTH TIMES! These two fixes were not cheap. But Frank is the bomb and for many reasons. He just doesn't sell you a contract and send you on your way. He cares about you and takes the time to build a relationship with you which is the key to good service. My wife Purchased an auto protect policy and after a problem was discovered the manager in charge of claims denied the claim after hearing that a technical service bulletin may have been involved. after reading the contract and seeing the service bulletin, it does not state that anywhere in the bulletin that it is a technical service bulletin in the recommendation in the case # documents. They do not want to work with us at all and have made their minds that they no longer want to work with us, worst service I have ever seen. read more

Liberty Bell Auto Protect? Not sure how it others' experiences have been but for weeks, I have left numerous phone calls and as of recently sent 2 emails to the confirmed email address they provide without any callbacks/responses. I am not sure what is happening. I have been a member since the beginning of January of this year exceeding the preliminary requirements. Every time I call no matter what option you choose (which there are 3: 1) new customer, 2) Billing or 3) Claims) I always end up speaking with someone from reception/customer service or someone from the after hours team. They are apparently open 9 - 7pm M-F. In my case, it did not matter if I called at 9am or 2pm or 4pm - I ended up speaking with someone from reception or the after hour's team. I left a message and was told by both teams, "we will mark your message urgent and someone will get back to you by the end of the business or the following day". I must have left numerous messages (can't keep track) and to date, not 1 return call. I've spoke with supervisors on both teams with the same result. I am beginning to think that there are no real representatives employed by Liberty Bell. Some of the previous members may have had different experiences...to each their own. My experience has been one of negativity. When you call about joining, they are very friendly and quick to respond. However, once you are a member, good luck. My opinion, spend a few extra bucks and go with another company. It may be a damper to your wallet but it will save you from all of the headaches. read more

The shop my car is at and myself have been trying to reach them via the email and phone number they have on their website and no response. Their number rings once and goes to a voice mail that pretty much tells your to Fuck off and no option to leave a voicemail either. Look this company up on the BBB site and you will see for yourself that I'm not the only one going through this. This company is a fraud! I took my vehicle into the dealer for a check engine light. Gave them all of liberty bells information. After a couple of days the dealer tells me liberty bell does have me on record and I must have a different aftermarket warranty. I tried calling liberty bell twice. Both times I was on hold for an hour and then an hour and a half. Both times I was promptly hung up on at the end of the business day. The dealer however is able to speak to a representative and was told my claim is denied. I finally speak to someone other than a claims representative because the sales people are very quick to answer the phone. She was kind enough to pass on a message and I received a call back. Unfortunately I wasn't able to answer his call but tried calling him back at his extension which proved to be a waste of time because there was no answer and his voicemail was full and I was hung up on again. I got their highest available contract(which it's supposed to cover everything and they were comparing it to actual manufacturer warranty) and I paid full up front. After a couple of months My camshaft adjuster which is part of engine (engine and transmission is part of even the most basic contract that every single extended warranty company offer) went bad, I took it to the dealer they told me it going to cost me $8,500 to fix it and they call these people and they just approved $300, can you believe the s***???? Then I start to shop around for the third party shops, and I found a shop which they were willing to do the same job for only $2,900, they still didn't approve the claim for full. And the reason was this is a special part, didn't they know what car am I getting extended warranty for??? The shortest story about this shady company is, they try to get your business and give you a feeling that you got a really good deal and charge you all up front, and they are hoping nothing going to go bad with your car and if it does they will try to lowball it, and if you be aggressive towards them like what I did, they will try to give You a courtesy approval A little more than what they approved initially (in my case was $300 for a $8,500 repair), and at the end they will try to give you partial refund of your money back and they will have you sign a waiver to do not file any complaint or sue them because of their misbehavior. If you want to go through this hell that I went with these people, feel free to waste your time and money on this shady company. And have a fake piece of hope that your car has extended warranty!!!! Like Deandra W. I had a problem with my engine...I got no warning at all..just driving along and boom everything just shut down. I had done all of my regular maintenance and oil changes on time. They made me have my mechanic do a complete tear down of my engine. I have a Chrysler Town and Country with only 90,000 miles on it. The tear down cost me almost $700.00. They said they needed to send someone out to inspect. My mechanic said that there shouldn't be a problem but was recommending a new engine. After paying $700.00 Liberty Bell then decided they didn't need to send anyone and asked for an estimate. The estimate was around $4500.00. They said that they would only cover the root problem...not the whole repair.. Let me be clear...if your timing belt or chain breaks and takes out your engine, Liberty Bell will pay for a new timing belt and the labor to replace it...NOT ACTUALLY REPAIRING YOUR ENGINE!!! They authorized $1400.00 for the repair..I demanded my money back..they were more than happy to comply..Let's be very clear::: THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!! They are as sweet as pie when signing you up but they are not going to take care of you. They also beg you to go out and immediately give them a 5 star rating...before they've done a dang thing except take your money with false promises. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! If I could give them a 0 star, I would have...They only have great customer service when signing you up...Please trust me on this..it will save you a lot of heartache ... Purchased plan in November 2019 right after I had previous prior issue specifically with my passenger side front air shock. Spoke with agent Ryan Hunter, whom informed this would cover my shocks, showed it reflects in platinum prime plan suspension. Fast forward to today, as I took my car to mechanic for same issue but now driver front side, my mechanic informed they could now authorize until I signed policy, which I had not received prior, did not even remember I had not received plan. They tried emailing my twice, upon reaching out they i got to check my spam, which I did find & printed my name as signature.. an hour later my mechanic informed he was told shocks were excluded. I called & spoke with Will Quart, whom confirmed. I told him I had only purchased as Ryan assured me this was covered, he Will told me it's in the contract, which I ti told I had not received. He says it was most likely in my spam, I informed why would it go to my spam, when I have received my confirmation of purchase & the free tire plan thru my inbox. I don't usually check my spam as I delete them every day as so much.. he informed his claims manager John Davis would call me back in ten minutes, which he never did.. I called John the next day & he told me I should have read policy that I had only signed the day before.. I asked if their conversations were not recorded, as he can check mine with Ryan to confirm I asked specifically & confirmed several times.. he said that was irrelevant, I should have read the policy.. I told him then refund me, being I have never used this plan & it was only validated yesterday. Sign up with them was great, good sales people, but when I went to use the policy, they denied my claim. I had replaced the coolant reservoir, and a the time didn't know that the water pump needed replaced, drove my 2013 Volkswagen jetta for the next two weeks with no problems until the reservoir drained completely, took my car back to where I had it replaced and they told me that the water pump was bad, I had the mechanic call Liberty Bell and tell them what the issue was, well, Liberty Bell said I was negligent and they denied my claim stating that I knew the water pump was bad at the time the reservoir was replaced, in which I didn't. We went back and forth with phone calls, and the supervisor just said they would not cover the water pump as well as the oil leak I was having at the same time, the only good about this was they did refund the money that I put into the policy and didn't charge me a cancellation fee.
