People come in for candy so they aren't necessarily interested in nuts. Also, with them being located so low on the shelf they are probably rarely noticed. These factors mean that there is probably a slow turnover and less likely to be fresh. As you know, stale nuts are just not okay! I ended up purchasing hard candy for my daughter and chocolate for my husband. I did not purchase anything for myself because the chocolate in these stores is likely to be more processed, higher in sugar and not even close to fine chocolate which is my favorite. I tried the toffee and it was WAY too sweet so there is no way I could even approach that turtle, (my husband's personal favorite).
