Liberty Career scrubs and externship student badge vs Hospital scrubs and official badge

Update #3 It has been less than 2 years since I took up the phlebotomy course with Liberty Career College. I emailed Ann and would just like to share with everyone my experience. Shorty after externship I was hired on at WestPac Labs as a Phlebotomist. Great way to gain experience. I stayed there for about a year and have just now been hired on as Lab Assistant for Mercy Hospital I am so very happy. My dream become a reality July of 2020 Is when I began my journey towards my new career to become a phlebotomist. Shortly after in October 2020 I was sent to do my externship at Mercy Hospital hoping to one day work for them. February 2021 I got my first phlebotomist job with WestPab Labs as a Phlebotomist. And now, fast forward to January 2022 & I am now officially drawing blood as a Lab Assistant for Mercy Hospital. I am so very grateful to have been given the opportunity from Liberty Career during the peak of COVID to begin my phlebotomy journey. Liberty Career College will always be the the reason why I made it to where I am today. I thank both Ann and Carlos again for not giving up on me and believing in me.

She screenshot my review and sent it to my friend in an email.

I recently stopped by to take some pictures for my siblings' graduations, and the campus has plenty of photoworthy spots with great foliage, architecture, and a little creek which runs through campus. This is also where I voted in the recent primary. It is so nice to have a public institution so close to home. I've been to a couple graduation ceremonies as my sister received her bachelors and masters here. They always do a good job with their ceremonies and were accommodating for our mobily challenged grandmother.

The schedule during spring & fall is very flexible. I worked full time during the day & still managed to get a Bachelor's in 2 years at CSUB. Most of my professors were accommodating to me when I had serious medical issues. I met some professors that truly made my experience wonderful. Anytime I've had registering or scheduling issues, I was always promptly able to handle them thanks to all the departments. The facility is beautiful. Clean, spacious & always a lot of security & police. I love that there are different food options & a Starbucks. The student store is stocked & reasonably priced. I can't say enough good things about this university. I'm proud to be a Runner Alumni! Go Roadrunners!

SJVC gave me the knowledge, hands-on training, and confidence I needed to get started in the HVAC industry. I would like to thank Mr. G and Mr. Bernal for their guidance, support, and dedication throughout the program. Their real-world experience and willingness to help students succeed made a big impact on my education. I also want to thank Career Services for working hard to help me find opportunities in the HVAC field. They were always supportive and did their best to connect me with employers and help me start my career. Today, I am proud to be working for Oasis Air and Solar. Being out in the field every day allows me to apply what I learned at SJVC and continue growing as an HVAC technician. I am grateful for the chance that SJVC gave me to pursue a career, improve my life, and achieve my goals. Thank you to everyone at SJVC who helped me along the way. I truly appreciate all the support and encouragement.

Enrolling was pretty easy, maybe it was because I took out parent plus loans for her. What i appreciated was these loans were able to be placed on deferment until she graduated. These loans were disbursed six times throughout the course of 19 months. Although we paid thousands and thousands of dollars, my daughter still had to purchase scrubs out of pocket through SJVC. My daughter said she had multiple teachers for her courses. During her internship, it was very stressful for her! I'm not 100% sure she had the necessary support from the school, the advisor, whoever. That was just my observation although she never complained. She was a real trooper! She attended SJVC for class 3 days out of the week, then interned at the hospital 2 days out of the week and still worked part time. The pinning ceremony was simple and was finished in a little over an hour. She will soon be taking the NBRC exam..... I want to see if the school will be there for support in that and job placement.

Both have been supportive, knowledgeable, and clearly care about student growth. I truly appreciate the instruction and guidance I received from them throughout the program. They have both helped me in furthering my education and focusing on my career. With that being said, I did experience some challenges with communication along the way with the overall school itself. There were times when I reached out with issue or concern and it would either take weeks or I didn't receive a response at all, when certain things were discussed or promised and I felt they weren't fully followed through. This made parts of the process more stressful than they needed to be, especially in a program that already requires a lot of dedication and effort. This is not an easy program, and it's important to understand that you have to be determined and willing to put in the work. This is not something that's handed to you--you truly have to earn it. However, I will say that if you remain persistent and advocate for yourself, the school does make efforts to support you and follow through. Overall, while there is room for improvement in communication, the quality of education and the commitment of key staff members made the experience worthwhile for me and I know this schooling experience will stay with me the rest of my life

Not only did I pay 80,000 to get a mediocre education (at best), but now after I graduated I received a job offer and the school for whatever reason will not send our transcripts to the BRN so my class can take their NCLEX. I have alittle over a month to take my NCLEX or I lose my job offer. This isn't the first thing the school has done either. Starting in our second semester, they didn't give us our schedule until 2 days before classes started. Our first class was on zoom and they expected us to enroll ourselves in all our classes on moodle, not ever informing us of teaching us how to do it prior. Finally getting into the nursing program itself 3rd semester, we had a professor named Dr, Orton. She was our fundamentals professor and did not teach us not even 1 thing that whole semester. She was racist, unavailable, and rude. When someone had a problem in her class with something she would shut down and take it out on the whole class. 4th semester got better as Kirsten came in and tried to help fill in our grey areas. 5th semester during OB we had a pregnant professor, dr. Ria who only ever complained about being pregnant. At clinicals she was found laying down in a clean patients room taking a nap on the bed. To say embarrassing would be the least. She taught us very little and would be extremely upset if anyone asked her any kind of questions. 6th semester went well as we had Dr. Cavillo or Farhat. Probably top 5 professors there. Not to mention during this time we had 3-4 different deans, whom all changed the rules as they went along. When I graduated Sam Lynn was being exited as the dean. I believe she lied to us about a lot of things. She could never give us a straight answer on anything. She was really good at making word salads and never actually answering a single question you had. She told us to be prepared to take our NCLEX 2 weeks from May 11th, and we have not heard a single thing from her since. No one will directly answer the questions you have, no one cares how you feel or what you think. They want their money and after they get it, you're screwed. While admin and most professors are complete trash I do just want to mention the ones that are trying so hard to make a difference: Kirsten, Dakota, Ken, Alex, Angelica, the peds team (ABCD), and Farhat. These professors are the only ones that will care about you and try to make a difference in this mess of a school. DO NOT ATTEND HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT

Walking around brought back a lot of memories because honestly, the campus still looks pretty much the same as I remember it. Some areas have been updated, but overall it hasn't changed too much over the years. One thing that definitely hasn't improved is the parking situation. Finding parking for classes was always stressful back then, and it still seems to be a problem now, especially during big events like graduations. It can take a while just to find a spot, and traffic getting in and out of campus can be frustrating. Another thing I noticed is that there always seems to be construction going on somewhere around campus. It feels like certain buildings are constantly under repair or being worked on, and the projects seem to take forever to finish. It can make the campus look a little messy and inconvenient at times. On the positive side, the teachers and staff I've interacted with have always been pretty cool and helpful. Overall, it's still a decent school with a familiar atmosphere, but there are definitely some areas that could use improvement.
