This career college is literally writing fake reviews of previous students. I know they are closed down, but wanted everyone to know. I created this account just today to inform anyone interested in knowing. When I found out they closed down and I wanted to see if other people had similar horrible experience has I did. I was flabbergasted when I found a review (3 reviews down) under my name. Which they misspelled my first name as Destiny. Then wrote a "glowing" review of experience "I" had during my time there. I knew it was "me" because of the name, I did attending during July 2021 and they had information about previous courses I've taken they got from the resume I GIVEN THEM WHEN I APPLIED HERE. I was horrified they had the audacity to do this. I hope no joined the program because of that review. My personal experience there was fine until the end where Ann (who I am confident wrote 'my review') treated me extremely unprofessional and shouted at me where students right next to us heard everything, when I stated I couldn't do externship hours during the week she gave me and asked if reschedule them another week. I have never had anyone treated me the way she had to me and actually demotivated me to continue a career as a Phlebotomist. Anyways, just wanted to warn everyone they wrote fake reviews under previous students name and taken information they had from their records. I'm glad they shut down. read more

finally getting time to write this long awaited review. i don't recommend going here at all. Ann is very unprofessional and rude. carlos was an amazing instructor and taught the classes well. ann on the other hand is very judgmental and only ever cares about the money. ann called me into her office and basically said i looked unprofessional because i wore converse and that were a little worn down. unfortunately at that time all my money was going to school. she proceeded to make comments on my looks as well as my appearance saying i would be lucky if i got an externship. i didn't go through with my externship because while attending this school i lost my fire for the medical field because of how ann treated me. if you want to become a medical assistant or phlebotomist i recommend going to BC or the bakersfield adult school as well as ROC offered medical assisting way cheaper and it is an amazing program. I also would check the google reviews as well as the better business bureau reviews as a lot of them mention the same thing i talked about above! i'm proud to say I still was able to get my certification elsewhere with a much better experience. however if you are looking for a cheaper alternative this is one way to go just be prepared for how they treat their students. read more

I attended this school back in July of 2021 and if there is any advice I can give to help persuade your decision on whether or not this is the right school for you, I would say to not go off of reviews and make your OWN opinion. That's exactly what I did and I'm glad I didn't let the negative reviews make that decision for me. I can almost guarantee you, the negative reviews are from students who did not pass the class and did not follow instructions that were given from day one. I was never a straight A student in high school or college so I was really skeptical to take this step and enroll for phlebotomy. I've taken Bio and Chem classes in college and never passed so I thought I wouldn't be smart enough for this. But I was wrong! Carlos is an amazing teacher. He teaches it in a way that is understandable and easy to catch on to, sort of like one of those "For Dummies" books lol. He makes the class fun and enjoyable. Ann is very helpful when it came to finishing up all externship requirements and getting us out to our externship sites. She will answer any questions or concerns you might have and will do anything she can to work and accommodate you. Ann and Carlos are very straight forward from day one and tell you exactly what they expect from you and how to be successful in their class. If I can give any advice to future students, it would be to take good notes, pay attention, ask questions, and stay on top of everything (including the externship requirements.... seriously, you will get done sooner!!!) do not miss any days (they make this very clear, you will have to make up your missed day the following class months later. Not their rule, it's the states rule) and just enjoy the class. I hope whoever takes this class through Liberty Career College loves it as much as I did! read more

I graduated from Liberty Career college with my CPT1 a few years ago. I went on to work at a plasma center, and blood bank after graduating prior to pursuing nursing. The experience I had attending this school was so incredibly smooth and informative. The instruction from Carlos, and Ann gave me the head knowledge and hands on experience to be successful in my work and go on to be a trainer at my job to be able to help others perform at their best. I was one of the top sticks in every department, and my success rates were always above average. Learning the proper techniques and helpful skills I needed set me up for success in my work and I thrived in this career so easily. Taking my state exam I was prepared and had everything I needed with their guidance. This class is absolutely for you if you want to truly learn, put in effort, and strive for excellence that will benefit you in the entirety of your career and your life. The externship I had was a great experience in a hospital setting and I learned so much that now benefits me as I pursue the medical career further with eyes that have more experience than others have had the opportunity of in my same position due to this education. My classmates were such a great group of people who truly bonded and desired to learn, and I still maintain relationships with them as well as I have contact with this school's owners who are still so very helpful with any questions/advice I might have or need. As I've seen some of the reviews on this place be so negative I have to say that the only reason it could possibly be so is if you don't truly have the desire for excellence and learning. Every opportunity is available to you if you ask, pursue, and invest no matter who you are or how experienced. They will go out of their way to give you extra time, answer questions, and talk you through any struggle areas. This place has given me direction, skill set, and truly influenced my life in a very positive direction to being the best I can in the positions I achieve. No one is perfect and there's always room for me to grow and improve, but I share my success only because the skills you acquire here truly do set you up to do well. 10/10 school and people. If you've had a negative experience here, it is probably only due to your lack of effort and follow through. Their communication is on point, they give you clear and understandable information to follow that will set you up to pass and thrive. This college is a SCAM. Just read Ann's reply to Gena C. I don't even know her, and I can see Ann using the same gaslighting techniques that were used on me. It is TEXTBOOK predatory behavior. Plus, Ann loves to make up things that never happened, such as telling you she had a conversation with you to fix something, when she never did, then kicking you out for it and talking to you in a condescending way. But, they won't kick you out until you've completed over 60% of the course so you can't get a refund. When Ann told me, unprompted, to not believe the reviews online, that should've been my first clue. I showed up to class every day, on time, did well on my quizzes, (I had a 4.0 in high school) and they kicked me out just because they didn't like me. read more

Update #3 It has been less than 2 years since I took up the phlebotomy course with Liberty Career College. I emailed Ann and would just like to share with everyone my experience. Shorty after externship I was hired on at WestPac Labs as a Phlebotomist. Great way to gain experience. I stayed there for about a year and have just now been hired on as Lab Assistant for Mercy Hospital I am so very happy. My dream become a reality July of 2020 Is when I began my journey towards my new career to become a phlebotomist. Shortly after in October 2020 I was sent to do my externship at Mercy Hospital hoping to one day work for them. February 2021 I got my first phlebotomist job with WestPab Labs as a Phlebotomist. And now, fast forward to January 2022 & I am now officially drawing blood as a Lab Assistant for Mercy Hospital. I am so very grateful to have been given the opportunity from Liberty Career during the peak of COVID to begin my phlebotomy journey. If im being completely honest, Ann is very unprofessional and just rude. She is not understanding AT ALL. Also she is a shady person and I felt like the whole time she was very money hungry. While Carlos, the instructor for the course, was very nice and informative. Now that I have my license in phlebotomy, I feel that he taught techniques that are very outdated and i feel that I barely ever use a phlebotomist today. He still taught some cool things and was a very informative and helpful person. Ann however, was just very rude and tried embarrassing me in front of the whole class at one point. I am a gay Hispanic male 22 years old, 2021 I walked in first day ready to start a big new chapter in my life. Expecting to be a teachers pet like always. Then Ana "part owner" staring down on me with disgust. I arrived 5 mins early. But i should of came earlier so i can go home and change my crocs, because Ana got extremely mad for me wearing crocs. She had a twitch in her eye. My anxiety went straight up, so i told her " please, my anxiety is going up right now". She said " your anxiety i have to deal with 70 student on my own" They are under staff because they have no staff. lol Carlos is the other "part owner" basically the only other staff member for 70 student in one semester. All i can say is this "wow". He will shut me up if i ever spoke. Even to ask questions. Other class mates can agree. It was so bad i felt like they didn't want me to continue the program because i was such a great student and they didn't expect it. They expect me to drop. And i did and i bet that made them happy. Keep my money. But i asked for a refund but they kept my money but i should of never spent a dime. A dime i worked 2 years so i can have better future. But because of the mental abuse i had to stop my dreams for a second and go back and find a real "school". Please comment any questions. There is more to just what i wrote. When searching for a phlebotomy school, I came across liberty and decided to call. From the get go Ann was very nice and informative. I started class, we had a small group but all of us did amazing. Carlos and Ann were both so supportive. I passed everything with flying colors. I've finished my externship and I can not say how many patients during externship told me I had a good hand and they didn't feel a thing which was an amazing feeling. Now that Ann has no bearing on whether or not my friend gets her license, I would like to share our experience at this facility. A few years back, Ann wouldn't work with a student who had to push back her externship by a few weeks and made her pay for the program again just to almost not let her get her license because of a poor Google review I left. She looked me up on Facebook and made the connection and said that if I didn't delete the review, Ann wouldn't work with my friend any longer. I would NOT recommend taking any programs here. They were extremely unprofessional and rude. I'm not sure how they are still able to hold classes because there's no way this was an isolated incident. Not working with someone because of a review someone else left on Google is not only unprofessional, but it's also against Googles terms. read more

Update: by the way, i would check the (not recommended) reviews, which have more experiences from previous students that eerily matched my own. I should have posted this review many, many years ago. Absolutely nightmarish staff (family business, so no one is in danger of losing their jobs) who are far more interested in getting your money than producing competent students. "Mom" is short and rude, without any consideration (not before you sign up for their expensive classes, of course), and looking for a reason to kick anyone out that they don't favor. At the time, (family friends?) of theirs were taking the class, and they treated them very well, but were disgusting to me every step of the way. I passed all of the required exams, got all of my required draws done (with constant and disturbing hawking by "mom" day after day multiple times a day, including her yelling at me that i was going to make them 'look bad' to DRMC where i was training) and after everything, they did not want to give me my cert because they were suspicious that i was not "up to scuff". Worst professional experience of my life even today. Caused a great deal of anxiety over something they should have been assisting me in. Not worth ONE star. read more

So i started this class not really knowing whether or not i really wanted to be a phlebotomist but once i started i loved it. The only issue was that Ann kept telling me i was missing papers for externship, i asked her on multiple occasions exactly what i needed to turn in and her reply was always "check the portal" which was no help. So i turned in the papers i had once again and didn't hear a word for a month. I messaged Ann and asked what was up and she told me they dropped me from the class. Not only was i dropped with NO NOTICE, its been about 8 months now since that happened and i've asked Ann on MULTIPLE occasions to send me the paperwork stating i had been dropped and still have not received it. Now, before all of this they'd sent me mail before, so i really don't understand why i still haven't gotten it. But if you're looking for communication and teachers that actually care about you i would suggest going elsewhere. Eventually i just blocked Ann because i'm done begging for paperwork that i should've received WHEN i was dropped. Also while you're at it take a look at all the hidden reviews for this place because i wish i had seen them before paying $1900 for this school! read more

DONT GO HERE! Going here was a nightmare. The secretary, Ann, is very unprofessional. She consistently critiques your appearance, personality, and goes as far as interrupting class to complain about students. She also will attack you in front of your peers. She's made multiple students cry by terrorizing them. I guess you get what you pay for. Facility is sketchy. Staff is horrible. Class is alright. STRAIGHT TO THE POINT!!! So glad that I invested my money to continue my education for a career change in Phlebotomy! Carlos/Megan were awesome and very professional. It's not a difficult course as long as you are serious about studying and actively participating in class and asking questions. They really drill the proper technique into your head. Ann was quick to getting me in to extern at Delano RMC. Loved my time there and my trainers!!! Got all my certs out of the way and applied to the State today! You have to be 110% dedicated and on top of everything you need to get done because you are paying out of pocket for this!!! read more

I recently finished the Phlebotomy Technician program at Liberty Career College and LOVED it! Both Carlos and Ann were fantastic and a great deal of help! The communication that I had with the school was very professional. Their policies are clearly provided in writing and discussed in person at the school. Ann answered questions by email, phone or in person very quickly and made the process very smooth. Carlos was a great instructor that explained things very clearly and was always asking if anyone had any questions. All the tools were given to succeed! They have a school portal that we were able to view at all times to see what was needed for externship and how we were doing in the class. I believe other reviews that are not favorable could be from disgruntled people who didn't follow instructions, although the school provides information very clearly. Unfortunately, I think there are always going to be those individuals who don't want to be responsible and therefore blame other people......don't hold that against the school. As someone who has gone through medical issues I'm so happy that there is a school that teaches such thorough information to best prepare their students to provide the best patient care. DO NOT GO HERE!! FRAUD!! I attended Liberty Career College and I was kicked out and yelled at to leave on the final day of class. The owner, Ann, slandered me and forcefully grabbed my hand on that day. She made up many lies about me and attacked my character, and ultimately Carlos (the instructor) told me I was being dismissed for my personality. They allegedly had a problem with me from day one, and waited until I was not due a refund to tell me. They targeted me and I still do not know why. I had an A in the class, and since they are a private school, they're apparently allowed to yell, grab, and harass their students without consequence. They claim they started the school to be able to look students in the eye after completion of the course, but they screw their students over, by taking their money and giving the students nothing in return. Several times during class, they bragged about failing students for their looks and smell. Ann also has fabricated many lies about me to cover up their unethical actions, claiming I was a rebellious student. When, any of my past teachers would tell you I'm a teacher's pet and very, very dedicated to my school work. read more
