The embodiment of the word pretentious. As other reviews have mentioned, Sirus was extremely rude and dismissive. I tried to make light, industry-related conversation, explaining that I own complete Bradford Exchange $2 National Park and WWII bill collections. Before I even finished speaking, I was cut off with, "We give those away -- they're worth a little more than $2." Whether or not a store wants to buy something isn't the issue -- it's the abrupt, dismissive attitude. Especially when those same bills routinely sell individually and as complete sets in the secondary market. I also brought in a PCGS-graded Barber half dollar. It was initially dismissed as fake, then that statement was later retracted. I was offered $200, despite recent comparable sales being significantly higher. Again, I fully understand dealers need margin -- but there was zero effort to explain grading, wholesale pricing, or reasoning. Just dismissal. The same pattern continued with a group of shipwreck coins (Mexican and Spanish silver). Interesting pieces, varied designs -- yet the only information offered was that holed coins are worth less. No education, no engagement. What stood out most was the contrast in treatment. A customer dealing in hundreds of thousands in gold received attentive service, while others -- myself included -- were treated as inconveniences. I've previously sent customers here and heard mixed reviews. I'm a relative coin expert, did try to sell the 2 items overtime, a lot of fuss and bother. I figure their huge advertsing budget, etc creates a lot of overhead that restricts the prices they can buy coins for and needs to be made up in sale prices too, but then maybe they make it up in volume? Display cases have little good stuff. My advice is get at least 2 quotes on any buy or sell before deciding. read more

Just went there for the first time last week based on a friend's recommendation. It was pretty busy when I walked in, but a very professional and attentive young man helped me immediately. They gave me a very fair price for my silver bullion. I went back two more times and was treated great each time. They don't pay as much for constitutional silver, but a good price for silver rounds. This is the exact kind of place I was hoping for. Local spot where I took in my 1 oz gold maple to get quoted. As soon as I walked in, the younger gentleman with dark hair and maybe glasses stood right up to help me, I showed him what I had and he was quickly able to quote me just under $100 of spot gold pricing which is more than fair considering selling something like this on eBay would cost you 5-6x or more in fees. After I agreed to his quote he asked if a check would suffice which I then asked if he could do some cash which he did ($1000). He then wrote out the check, weighed the coin, and counted me out $1000. I was in and out of there in about 5 minutes. DO NOT SELL YOUR STUFF TO THESE PEOPLE. wait til a coin and currency show is in town and find people there if you have any questions on what you may have . I was given a collectors lifetime currency collection and did not know what to do with it. I decided to take it to Liberty Coin based on the reviews on how nice and honest the people there are. Trying to keep a story short, they most definitely downplayed the collection i brought to them calling the coin collection "disappointing" while still paying me $700 for it. (I legitimately do not know how bad I was ripped off here) But the paper currency I brought in, I know for a fact I was taken to the cleaners and 100's of pieces (coin and paper) currency was taken from me. The word "taken" is the word I'll stand by. Here I am a guy who is asking for help to know exactly what it is I have and after making an appointment with them and my choices were to pay them for their time or sell it to them for looking. In the end I was not given the option to pay them for their time and not one time was I given an appraisal on any of the pieces I brought in. What I do know is that they never told me how much they were buying the pieces off of me for and just calculated things on the fly. I had to look for myself. PGCS graded 69 2004A $10 star note sheet. Retails between $600-$1000. I was given $60 PGCS graded 1995 $1 with a large foldover error. Retails between $250-$500. I was given $40 An old $1000 postnote that doesnt see the market very often. Zac had to google it and saw the last one to sell in auction somewhere sold for $800-$900. I was given $140. These are just 3 examples of 100's of items taken from me as i was given pennies on the dollar. Whats crazy is that there was a large amount of paper currency they didn't take and told me to spend it. I ended up randomly posting a handful of pieces of the stuff they didnt take on ebay and have already matched the total of what Liberty Coin gave me for all the good stuff that was taken. Maybe Zac actually has a conscience and felt bad for how hard he was ripping me off or he's kicking himself because he could have made a lot more money off of me. I walked in with a suitcase full of money and they gave me a couple bucks for it and sent me on my way. "NICE" sure, they seem like normal people. "Honest" not a chance in purgatory.
