Came to PBD after doing some research online on engagement ring shopping. I didn't really have a good idea on what I was specifically looking for, but Isabel helped me in the right direction and showed me a few rings to try on. She also presented some wedding bands to pair with the rings as well. I was debating between a marquise shaped diamond and an emerald shape, my bf/future fiancé preferred the marquise shape and that's when Isabel showed us the option of a dutch marquise. I was blown away and was pretty much set on getting a ring with that diamond shape. After that appointment, I went to a few other stores around the OC area. None of those stores beat PBD's customer service and wide range of ring selections. I came back to PBD and tried on some more rings before I settled on the one I loved--a dutch marquise stone on PBD's Arwen band. Located in a pretty busy shopping center, so keep that in mind because it can get a little difficult finding parking. The associate that helped me and my boyfriend was so kind and they have an amazing selection of engagement rings. I did not feel rushed at all while looking at rings and the associate was so patient and kindly answered all my questions. We came down to SoCal from the Bay Area on a five day vacation trip with the idea of stopping by PBD in Huntington Beach to look at engagement rings and wedding bands. I am so pleased with my experience at PBD. My journey started back in Sept 2024 where I saw lots of social media posts about their beautiful rings. I made an appointment easily online. Walking into the store I was immediately mesmerized by the lighting and cleanliness. All the rings on display were so beautiful. I loved that they had a large variety of rings, with different settings and stones set in. A lot of other stores have settings only and "float" the preferred diamond on top, but the experience is not the same! Also all their stones on display are actual stones!! Not the fake/cheap looking ones so you are able to really see the quality. The best part about my PBD journey is Regan. She was the best at helping us through all preferences, providing genuine feedback, and being a listening ear. My partner and I had such easy conversations with her and she helped him with the logistical side of things. I came in a second time liking the shimmery sparkles of the oval cut but wanting that in a round shape. With her expertise she mentioned a new cut I never heard of- Portuguese! Since it wasn't in stock she kept in touch with my partner through the next few months and coordinated a day to see the stone in person. We ended up buying the ring that same visit. My beautiful wedding band (not purchased at Princess Bride) is a band of vines, leaves and berries. It's very unique and one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. Worthy of wearing for a lifetime. Princess Bride did a great job of helping me find a delicate new setting for my diamond to match the band so I thought they would do a great job doing a custom revision to give my band new life. We discussed new rhodium plating, replacing broken diamonds, and placing the mil-grain that had worn off. They did everything great except the milgrain. I expected the milgrain to match the delicacy that was on the setting she sold me so they would match. What I got back was chunky, sloppy, costume jewelry. I was crestfallen when I saw my once beautiful wedding band come back looking like an inexpensive box jewelry. I spent over $3k so I asked for a refund for the mil-grain only, since they did everything else well, I felt like that was a reasonable ask for the horrible job they did on the milgrain. After much back and forth she said she would only give me a partial credit for the milgrain. Disappointing. Especially when she made comments about knowing their milgrain was different than many, AFTER the work was done. Why not set the expectation and provide samples!! Hard lesson learned - do not trust this place for custom work. I will never return or recommend this place. It also bothered me that she didn't tell me the stones in my setting weren't real until I was ready to pay. Heartbroken. read more
