I came around 1 1/2 hours after the call and they pulled my car into the garage for service immediately. They said it would be about 30 minutes so I took a walk in the neighborhood and enjoyed the nice spring weather. I thought the man said it would be $8 for each test/inspection but no! It was $8 TOTAL and they even have a sign outside to advertise that deal too! I came back in 30 minutes and luckily I only needed an inspection so I actually only paid $3 today. I would recommend this place to everyone for these services because they are priced well and work very fast. I will be back in a few months for my $5 emissions test LOL

I didn't have my jumper cables with me, so I walked over to the shop, and Charlie was kind enough to walk over to my car with me. He managed to get my car started, and realized that it only needed a new battery. Charlie and his team happened to have a fiat battery in stock (!!!), changed it immediately, and had me on my way ASAP. I am so lucky to have broken down right next door, and it was even luckier that Old Town Shell happened to be open on a holiday- they even got me back on the road when they were starting to close up for the night. Their prices were also very fair. I cannot thank you enough! I recommend that everyone check out this little shop if your car is in need of some service.

Unfortunately, what should have been a routine $42 car wash turned into a very disappointing and costly experience. After the wash was completed, a supervisor, Marvin Cornejo, brought me over to my vehicle and informed me that they could not get the driver-side window to roll back up. There were also clear signs that the driver-side power window switch had been pried on in an apparent attempt to get the window working again. Prior to bringing my vehicle to Yates, I had never experienced any issues with the windows or electrical system. To their credit, the staff apologized at the time, took photographs of the damage, and completed an incident report. I was told that the owner would be contacting me to discuss the damage and how the situation would be handled. It has now been a week, and I have received no follow-up whatsoever. Because I was trading the Durango in that same day, the damage directly affected the condition of the vehicle and resulted in a $500 reduction in my trade-in value. So, in the end, a $42 wash plus the $5 tip I gave the staff cost me an additional $500. The wash itself was fine, and I understand that accidents can happen. What I find unacceptable is the lack of accountability and follow-through afterward. If your business damages a customer's vehicle, documents the incident, and tells the customer that the owner will contact them, following through should be the bare minimum. Receiving no communication at all only adds insult to injury. I purchased my new vehicle later that same day, and based on this experience, I will not be bringing it to Yates Car Wash Detail Center. Unfortunately, I also cannot recommend Yates to others. Accidents happen. How a business responds when they happen says far more about the business than the accident itself. In this case, the lack of communication and accountability has been extremely disappointing.

As a broke young professional, I came to this Exxon 3 years ago after I had neglected my car's check engine light for over 8 months. Yes I know, it was stupid but with finances low I chose to put it off instead of dealing with it head first. I brought my car here solely because it was the closest service station to my apartment where I felt my car could MAYBE make it before breaking down (for the love of god my worst nightmare would be broken down in the middle of S. Washington during rush hour. What I didn't expect was the care and respect that the owner gave me. I've been shamed by mechanics before or looked down on as a naive young person. This owner was empathetic and took the time to be completely transparent. When I went home I researched the costs of labor and parts for the services he was going to provide to get my vehicle up and running again and I was honestly getting a very good deal. When I picked my car up the next day the owner then came out to give me the keys and told me that he had a daughter my age with the same car and he was going to make sure it would go for another 100k miles. I cannot tell you how much that made me feel better. Since then I have moved out of state. Since that visit I have only had to have my battery and tires replaced which for my vehicle is pretty average maintenance wise. What I can tell you is that I have made 25 500mi+ road trips this past year in the very same car that I took into this shop thinking I would be told it was a junk car. All I have to say is not only do I trust this establishment but I can easily recommend them to others due to their fair practices and general kindness to their customers.

I knew I could trust them for an honest assessment of my brakes. I left Passport Infiniti and went straight to Del Ray Service for a second opinion. They were busy when I walked in, but they took the time to take a close look at my brakes. They assessed that my brakes are good for at least another 20k miles. It is sad that the dealership Passport Infiniti that I bought my car from has such a dishonest service department. The great thing is that the people of Alexandria have an honest Mechanic at Del Ray Service Center that they can go to and get a truly fair assessment of their vehicle.
