My act tutor always asks me to meet him here for our sessions. It feels inappropriate but I just really want to get into a good college.

Clark County School District, and Greenspun specifically, handles student behavior very poorly. My son has witnessed more fights at this school in one year than he ever did in California. Bullying is a serious issue here, and the way staff, teachers, and administration respond to it is unacceptable. For example, an 8th grade student poured orange juice over my son's head. My son did exactly what he was taught, he reported it to staff instead of reacting. After speaking directly with the principal, Ms. Hermes, it sounded like this 8th grade student would face little to no consequences. However, it was made very clear that if my son had defended himself, he would be the one in trouble. This teaches kids to accept being mistreated while punishing them for standing up for themselves, which does not prepare them for the real world. This same pattern shows up in the classroom. My son recently got in trouble with Ms. Walsh, his math teacher, for raising his voice. My son admitted to me that he did raise his voice, and I appreciate his honesty. He explained that during free time another student was repeatedly giving him a hard time and even threw a backpack, yet that student was not disciplined. Ms. Walsh did not put a stop to the behavior immediately, allowing the situation to escalate. While my son should not have raised his voice, it is easy to understand his frustration when disruptive behavior is ignored and the child reacting is the only one punished. Students are either ignored when they report issues or immediately punished without any real accountability. Teachers frequently raise their voices when it isn't necessary, instead of stopping bad behavior the first time it happens. It feels more like a power struggle than effective classroom management. Academically, things are not much better. My son has struggled with his grades, and after meeting with all of his teachers, one teacher, Mr. Hoffman made the comment, "The dad's job is to work and the son's job is to do his own work." That statement alone showed a complete lack of support, accountability, or willingness to help a struggling student. I also personally sat in on one of Mr. Hoffman's classes. Before the classroom doors even opened, while waiting outside in the hallway, I overheard multiple students using the N word. This is especially concerning given that over 80% of the student population is Caucasian. There was no staff present to intervene out there , and it was clear this type of language is tolerated. From my own observation, Mr. Hoffman does the bare minimum, assigns work, sits at his desk, and provides little guidance or engagement. I witnessed this firsthand. Some classes don't even have assigned seating, which only adds to distractions and behavior problems. Most work is done on computers, yet there is no typing or basic computer skills class, setting students up to struggle even more. Overall, this school lacks structure, accountability, student support, and effective leadership. Bullying, racial language, and disruptive behavior are not addressed consistently, and administration, under the leadership of Ms. Hermes fails to protect students who follow the rules and report issues appropriately. I would not recommend Greenspun Middle School to any parent who cares about their child's safety, education, or emotional well being.

Parents were given information that led us to believe we could come between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., but when I arrived, I was met with conflicting information. What was even more disappointing was how I felt when I tried to speak with the office staff. Instead of feeling welcomed and listened to, I felt like I was treated as if I were an inconvenience or an adversary for simply asking questions and trying to understand the situation. Schools should strive to communicate clearly and consistently with families. Parents rely on accurate information to plan their schedules, and when there is confusion, it should be handled with professionalism, patience, and respect. I hope the administration takes this as an opportunity to improve communication and create a more welcoming environment for families.

You may be wondering why I gave this school such a low rating. I don't go to this school now since…read moreI left after two months being there. (I left in October 2025). Here's why, for context before I went to Tarkanian I was actually in a small private school with amazing kids and teachers loved that school. However, my parents needed me to find a new school to go to. The two school's we applied for were this one and another. I got into this school first. Before I started Tarkanian I thought this was actually going to be a good school, but holy shit god had other plans. When I first entered and observed the school for the first week. I immediately noticed some huge red flags. First of all, the student's behavior was absolutely terrible although there were some who were actually pretty nice, but most of their behavior was absolute dogshit. They would talk during class, eat gum also in class, and not listen to the teachers. Also, if you are trying to use the bathroom during passing period it is absolute chaos in their whole bunch of students doing whatever in there. Also, there is some shady stuff going on with the students. For example, I have a friend that I have been friends for a long time with before Tarkanian and we still hang out but anyways. My friend told me that another kid from my school (his name is Tristan) who was friends with this dude was that when my friend passed by one of Tristans friend's locker it smelt like weed. He legit told me that. Another thing I saw with one of the students in this school was that when I was waiting for the staff to let us into our classes inside a specific building. I saw a dude in a corner looking around like nobody was noticing him and he casually started counting money like my guess was like it was 200 dollars he was counting. I don't know how he got the money but he definitely 99.9% did something shady. Also, the school lunches are terrible except the teriyaki. Like the food they serve us I am questioning if that's actually food or if it's made from something entirely different like I don't want to know. Also, you can't get through a lesson in class without someone getting in trouble or doing something stupid. In my math class the students are absolute shit in there so much that the teacher has to yell at them every day and chew them out. I like the math teacher she's pretty nice but man those students are absolute assholes to her. Like she deserves better. Also, one time a student literally sprayed perfume in class which she is allergic to in another class my friend was in and had a severe allergic reaction. Like there is a whole ass sign giving warnings about her allergies on the door like can you not read. That was the day she almost died but luckily the hospital managed to save her. Man, those students need to have better respect and manners. The only thing I really liked about the school was the teachers and the staff. They were so kind and amazing. They definitely helped me out when I went there. In conclusion we need to have some students background and mental health checked.

We enrolled our 8 year old son to help him gain a better understanding of math concepts and give him more confidence and Mathnasium has delivered! This program is exceptional, the math classes are individualized and structured and engaging providing a perfect balance between learning and enjoyment. Our son LOVES going and is excited to go to each session and the fun math game hour. I like how they emphasize not just rote learning but a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject. One of the standout features of Mathnasium is its incredible staff, especially the manager Kenny. They go above and beyond to ensure every child feels supported, motivated, and most importantly, excited about math. Their interactive and positive approach keeps our son fully engaged throughout his sessions. We have already seen a significant growth in our son's math skills, but what I love even more is his smile when he goes in, and when he comes out of each math lesson. We couldn't be happier with our experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend Mathnasium to any parent looking to empower their child's mathematical journey.
