My act tutor always asks me to meet him here for our sessions. It feels inappropriate but I just really want to get into a good college.

Clark County School District, and Greenspun specifically, handles student behavior very poorly. My son has witnessed more fights at this school in one year than he ever did in California. Bullying is a serious issue here, and the way staff, teachers, and administration respond to it is unacceptable. For example, an 8th grade student poured orange juice over my son's head. My son did exactly what he was taught, he reported it to staff instead of reacting. After speaking directly with the principal, Ms. Hermes, it sounded like this 8th grade student would face little to no consequences. However, it was made very clear that if my son had defended himself, he would be the one in trouble. This teaches kids to accept being mistreated while punishing them for standing up for themselves, which does not prepare them for the real world. This same pattern shows up in the classroom. My son recently got in trouble with Ms. Walsh, his math teacher, for raising his voice. My son admitted to me that he did raise his voice, and I appreciate his honesty. He explained that during free time another student was repeatedly giving him a hard time and even threw a backpack, yet that student was not disciplined. Ms. Walsh did not put a stop to the behavior immediately, allowing the situation to escalate. While my son should not have raised his voice, it is easy to understand his frustration when disruptive behavior is ignored and the child reacting is the only one punished. Students are either ignored when they report issues or immediately punished without any real accountability. Teachers frequently raise their voices when it isn't necessary, instead of stopping bad behavior the first time it happens. It feels more like a power struggle than effective classroom management. Academically, things are not much better. My son has struggled with his grades, and after meeting with all of his teachers, one teacher, Mr. Hoffman made the comment, "The dad's job is to work and the son's job is to do his own work." That statement alone showed a complete lack of support, accountability, or willingness to help a struggling student. I also personally sat in on one of Mr. Hoffman's classes. Before the classroom doors even opened, while waiting outside in the hallway, I overheard multiple students using the N word. This is especially concerning given that over 80% of the student population is Caucasian. There was no staff present to intervene out there , and it was clear this type of language is tolerated. From my own observation, Mr. Hoffman does the bare minimum, assigns work, sits at his desk, and provides little guidance or engagement. I witnessed this firsthand. Some classes don't even have assigned seating, which only adds to distractions and behavior problems. Most work is done on computers, yet there is no typing or basic computer skills class, setting students up to struggle even more. Overall, this school lacks structure, accountability, student support, and effective leadership. Bullying, racial language, and disruptive behavior are not addressed consistently, and administration, under the leadership of Ms. Hermes fails to protect students who follow the rules and report issues appropriately. I would not recommend Greenspun Middle School to any parent who cares about their child's safety, education, or emotional well being.

The principal is amazing! Communication is very good! Something we didn't have consistent at his elementary school. The parking, drop off and pick up traffic is always smooth. They have a flow that everyone is supposed to follow. I do hate the selfish parents that sit in their cars waiting for their kids while blocking the parked cars. Grrrr! I think the school staff should work on getting those to leave. I especially LOVE that they schedule a day for us to pick up their school schedules prior to first day of school. That day not only gives us an opportunity to get classes ahead of time, but getting lockers and combo too, we get to check their classrooms and have a game plan of where to go so that the kids aren't late and lost looking for their classrooms and lockers on the first day of school. A nice sneak peak for us parents too =) On that day, we have the opportunity to pay for everything upfront such as the PE uniforms, Elective class fees like my son's orchestra fees and concert uniform fees, Tarkanian Merchandise, etc any questions at all, the Counselors have their own table and are available to answer any concerns. This is held in both their cafeteria and Gym. I really love this! It's less stress and less hectic on the first day/week is school for the kids! I have a lot of nieces and nephews who go to other middle schools and none of them do this! They tell me how crazy it is with payments of class fees etc on first week and some take weeks before they even get their PE uniforms and lockers A few weeks in the school year, they schedule another event which is the official meet and greet/open house for parents to meet each class/teachers, they go over class expectations, grading scales, contact Information, answer any questions for parents, clarify what needs to be clarified, etc. an announcer gives each class about 10-15 mins and it's like a musical chair game and we move to the next classroom. I absolutely LOVE this idea!! A VERY organized school overall! The principal/ assistant principal is in the courtyard available for any questions and to just greet the parents, direct foot traffic. They continue to amaze me! (Mr Reece Oswald & Mr Musemici) My son has no issues with his teachers and staff, just the student's culture which isn't something anyone can control I think. As most middle school aged kid, he said his first year, all everyone talked about is sex, dating, swearing etc. that is unfortunately not avoidable in middle school. He said in his 3 years so far (2-3 months in 8th grade right now) he has only seen 2 fights. But it was broken up fairly quickly by the staff, 2 girls fighting in the cafeteria and 2 young new 6th graders boys. So far no bullies that I know of. I ask my son from time to time. He seems fairly happy at this school. Great friends, great food (I don't pack him food, he prefers Catherine cafeteria food believe it or not lol) The front office admin team is nice and pleasant. =) They have kids in each hallways that monitor and direct. I'm not sure what they're called but it's pretty awesome. The school used to sit on the desert by itself but since my son's first year there, they've built houses all around it now. So contruction was a nightmare. It's almost done now though. (Nov 2019) so all the houses and streets surrounding it is brand spanking new. American west homes. (Those are nice homes!!) very clean and quiet neighborhood. Safe when there are no creepers following kids around. There was 1 incident where a white truck followed a kid walking to school, it was on the news but the kid made it to school safely and the parents were notified immediately and was also in the local news. Oh and they have themed school dances every year for all grades which is pretty awesome to have! The kids enjoy it!! The kids seems to fear the staff (lol) which is a really great sign the staff is doing their jobs of discipline and establishing authority and as a parent, I am all for that!! My son is in orchestra and misses Mrs. Gray. She unfortunately moved out of state but he says his current teacher Mr McGlasson is actually pretty awesome too. It is also currently a 5-star rated school!! Pretty excited about that! I will continue to add more to this review if needed by end of school year but it has been so far so good. No complaints in 3 years. =)

We enrolled our 8 year old son to help him gain a better understanding of math concepts and give him more confidence and Mathnasium has delivered! This program is exceptional, the math classes are individualized and structured and engaging providing a perfect balance between learning and enjoyment. Our son LOVES going and is excited to go to each session and the fun math game hour. I like how they emphasize not just rote learning but a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject. One of the standout features of Mathnasium is its incredible staff, especially the manager Kenny. They go above and beyond to ensure every child feels supported, motivated, and most importantly, excited about math. Their interactive and positive approach keeps our son fully engaged throughout his sessions. We have already seen a significant growth in our son's math skills, but what I love even more is his smile when he goes in, and when he comes out of each math lesson. We couldn't be happier with our experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend Mathnasium to any parent looking to empower their child's mathematical journey.

Parents are lied to…read moreby the school claiming it is the "best" in Nevada when you could probably send your kid to public school, and they'll get the same education. The principal contributes to absolutely nothing and they'll cut funds to clubs and sports when it's most important. The 8th grade girl's basketball coach was recently fired out of the blue even after being on a win streak for 5 years!! This school rarely shows that they care about their students. The uniform policy is highly reinforced for no particular reason, making parents deliver students' uniforms when they are caught not following the dress code. Overall, if you want safer school to put your child in...sure, Coral might be fit for you. But I do not recommend this place as a first choice.

My daughter has been a student at Coral Academy for over 9 years. I have never heard her complain…read moreso much about a campus than this one. This is what she tells me: all of the teachers either love you or hate you, if they don't like you, you will most likely fail in that class and not succeed as well as others. Teachers also pick favorites, mostly Muslim, Turkish, and Arab students. For the past couple of years, all of her science teachers at this campus have taught her literally nothing. Also some teachers barely speak english or don't even know what they are doing. Another thing, all of the staff take dress code WAY too seriously. For example, my daughter wore a Coral sweatshirt to school but just with a tank top underneath because it was too hot. A teacher found out that she had no Coral polo underneath and sent her to the office where I had to bring her a shirt in the middle of my work day. Which was extremely unnecessary, like do they have nothing else better to do. Also one of her friends were wearing slide on shoes but they were closed toed( which I'm pretty sure are allowed, like she wasn't showing her toes or anything.) and the Vice Principal, Ms Nourse.Came up to her and took her to the office and she got a minor referral. Also referrals can ruin a child's year. If you get 3 minors you get a major. And if you get 3 majors your not allowed to go on the class field trip. So lets say one student steals another students ID and they cant find it for 9 days, and they have to get a temporary one from the office each day. Then they can't go on the field trip. Also the IDs are literally useless. They don't even serve a purpose, like maybe for identification, but as if a students name is literally on every attendance sheet in every class. And its not like they scan them or anything. So it can get kids in a lot of trouble. Also the staff treats every student the same, like they are a evil. The only good teachers are Coach Gengo, Ms. Silva, Ms Sol, Mr Scott, and Mrs Jonah. "they are the goats" - my son. Also all the teachers are useless snd don't speak english. Thats all would not recommend.
