When a parent is dropping their child off to school for education && is getting texts && calls from their child that she wants to be picked up because she is being attacked, I feel the school apparently is unsafe && not doing their duty to have children in their hands What do you have to say? Bullying is very serious && it seems your school thinks otherwise!! He was pushed into the stall and placed in a headlock in the bathroom by another child, he was kicked in his "private" parts during early childcare, he was punched in his "privates" during lunch, he had a basketball thrown at his head at recess, and had his chair pulled out from under him when standing to ask a question in his class. He's not perfect! They never notified us of any of the above incidents. Does he have aggression issues. Yes. At time. Because of the environment they allow on this campus. They can call him a liar, or note he has aggression issues, but if your child is younger and struggles with emotional control this is not the place to be. I should have noticed it earlier. Between the teacher turn over rate-suspicious-, the lack of discipline, lack of timely notification when your child does something wrong, and lack of notifying parents of trauma to the head and "private parts," I would not recommend. They have no real counselors. If you're not from money, all other parents and students treat you like dirt. My son was called trash and poor. Kind of hard for a second grader to process. Keep your kids away. It's just a bunch of drama.

Very focused on sports such as football and has a good selection of clubs such as ski club. On top of that the course selection of classes is pretty good with Dual Enrollment and Ap classes. However, there is a heavy influence on substances such as weed and nicotine throughout the school and it is very common to go into the bathrooms and find that. There are some teachers here who shine and actually care about that job such as Ms Fick, and Ms Beckham to name a few.

Because of this teacher, my son is now being told he cannot participate in graduation over a 0.5 credit issue that honestly feels personal at this point. What makes it even more concerning is that I have two children at this school, and both have experienced the same problems with this teacher. Is that just a coincidence? Las Vegas already struggles with the level of education being provided, and having teachers who take away a student's opportunity to walk at graduation something every teenager dreams about is truly disappointing and shameful. Parents should be very careful and stay involved, because from my experience, this school does not genuinely care about the students' future or success.

Overall though, they seem pretty decent and want your child to succeed, even offering free after school tutoring. Some were very quick to respond to emails, some you would wait 1-2 days before hearing anything back. As far as homework load, that seemed fairly balanced. My child didn't have much trouble getting it done. My only suggestion would to be to switch up the semester Science projects. It was the exact same packet and project choices, for five years. They never did anything different and by grade 8, my child was mind numbingly bored with the same options. Next: bullying and drugs. Bullying is absolutely not tolerated here. Shout out to the Vice Principal, Mrs. Chipman, whom nips it in the bud with a quickness. They also have zero tolerance when it comes to drugs and are swift to react to any incidents. So high kudos for that. School events; a few are themed and very cute, others thrown together with very little thought (especially this last year). There would be only a couple days notice to the day before the event. It was strange. Graduation for 8th grades was not well executed either; no enforcement on the 4 tickets limit given so everyone that wanted to, attended (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, you name it). They ran out of seating quickly due to this. It was unfair to those that followed the guidelines and they never addressed it. For a school that is so stringent with kids regarding rules, that was a bit disappointing to see. Next up, the front office... if you're lucky enough to catch them on a good day, they can be very helpful but again, that is a mixed experience. Catch them on (regular) bad days and they are dismissive, short, and rude. As someone who has to make calls throughout the day at my job -and- taking in consideration that I'm sure they deal with a few unpleasant parents, I'm always polite, not once ever calling with an attitude. It doesn't seem to matter. And God help you if you get ahold of Alisha; the rudest, most foul tempered of the lot. How she still works there is absolutely beyond me. If I spoke to clients the way she does to parents, I'd be fired in an instant. It got to the point that if I heard her voice answer, I would just hang up and try again later. Last but not least, the emails. I get that they need to keep people informed but the frequency that they send them is just obscene. I'm not joking. It's -at least- three times a week and the timing is so random. Sometimes you'll get them at 2pm and sometimes you'll get them at 5pm, 7pm, and up to 9pm. Weekends aren't safe either. They really need to learn to reel that in with designated frequency, days, and times. It gets overwhelming quick and it's easy to miss updates. Overall, it's an okay school but needs some restructuring, especially the front office staff.

From our very first tour with Ms. Brenda, we knew this school checked all the boxes we were looking for. She was reading words at just 3 years old, and the nurturing, structured environment helped her grow in so many ways. Any concerns we had during preschool were addressed promptly, and we always felt confident she was in great hands. However, our experience changed significantly once she transitioned into kindergarten. While the curriculum remains strong and academically focused, the environment felt much more rigid and less joyful. It is very one size fits all. We absolutely value education, but we also want our child to enjoy being a kid--through fun, creativity, and play. Another challenge has been the limited communication. Most interaction is restricted to quick exchanges at drop-off or pick-up, and calls are typically returned when the staff is available. There's little feedback unless you personally call and ask, so it's hard to know how your child is progressing until report cards are sent out. At times, important day-to-day situations involving our daughter weren't communicated to us. Lastly, we didn't always feel the school environment, particularly the front office, was the most welcoming. On a few occasions, I had to initiate conversations after being overlooked which left us feeling more like a number than part of a school community. Overall, the preschool experience was outstanding and gave our daughter a strong academic and social foundation. We're incredibly thankful for that time. Unfortunately, the transition into kindergarten didn't live up to the same standard. I hope this feedback helps other families make a choice that aligns with what they're looking for.

First of all, no school out there is perfect. In addition, I think when selecting a school for your…read morechild, you need to have a good barometer of what kind of student they are and what kind of environment they will do well in. Academics - I found Coral Academy to be a good fit for my youngest daughter. They offer advanced science and math courses which are so vital in today's workforce. In addition, I find that many of the students at Coral truly like studying science and math ~ whereas elsewhere some students love to hate math and science. Having a daughter, it was important to me that she be encouraged in STEM courses and I find that the environment here is conducive to that. They offer many academic related clubs in addition to the advanced courses too. I appreciated the fact that they have their students take the PSAT as 8th graders. It gives you their scores early so that you may fill in any gaps prior to taking the real SAT as a junior. Location - Coral Sandy Ridge is in a nice Henderson neighborhood directly across from a park. Size - Coral Academy Sandy Ridge is much smaller than the local public schools, but not so small that the kids don't have a good selection of peers to socialize with. I was happy with the size of the overall school and individual classes. Sports - Some people complain at the lack of athletic activities at Coral. I agree that Coral doesn't have the current State Championship baseball or wrestling team -- or even many athletic teams at all. However, I found that to be the beauty of Coral. Academics is truly the focus here ~ which is what school is actually for! You can play sports on travel teams throughout the valley - so I don't see that as being an issue. However, some students may be a better fit at a school with more athletics. I think as a parent, you just need to know your child and find the best environment for them socially, academically and athletically. In a nutshell - I would recommend this school if your child has an aptitude in STEM courses, doesn't really care about sports and you want them academically challenged. However, if your child truly loves athletics and participating in school sports ~ then I believe there are better options for your child. Hope that helps! :)

The principal contributes to absolutely nothing and they'll cut funds to clubs and sports when it's most important. The uniform policy is highly reinforced for no particular reason, making parents deliver students' uniforms when they are caught not following the dress code. Overall, if you want safer school to put your child in...sure, Coral might be fit for you. But I do not recommend this place as a first choice.
