Sensing that something was up and I was about to be fleeced, I searched around Ajax for different mechanic shops. I settled on Master Mechanic in Ajax because the customer service was incredibly professional, friendly and caring. We spent time over the phone going through all the suggested service options that my dealership insisted I needed, then we booked an appointment. The day of the appointment, I was greeted in the morning with a cheery smile from the front desk staff, they offered coffee and immediately took my car in for service. It turns out that I actually didn't need to go broke, I just needed an oil change. Waiting in their very clean and well lit waiting room, it was quiet and had a nice relaxing atmosphere. However I didn't stay there very long as my car was serviced and returned to me within 40 minutes. It turns out that the winning formula is friendly and speedy service backed by good costs. I will be returning.

Spoke to Greg and booked the appointment same day. Dropped off the car didn't expect much except for what needs to be done. Mind you I am very particular with my cars so I'll know if they have done a good job or not. When I picked up the car, Greg actually told me they have done more than what I've asked for as there were more needed, but billed me the same price and he put down what else are having deficiencies so I'm aware of what may come next. Last week I made a point of marking the filter holder, which is located in the top right of the engine compartment, and carefully watched through the hood opening, and again, they didn't change the filter. When I questioned the manager she lied and said it was done. She eventually admitted it may have been missed and then offered to change it. This was not a mistake, but a calculated attempt to rip me off. There are plenty of legitimate businesses out there that will treat you right. Don't take a chance with one that will rip you off. These are the businesses that give mechanics a bad name in their industry.
