He also repaired some wood pieces along the way, even though it was not included in the original estimate and without an additional cost. He did the work within the time that he said. I am so impressed with GD Painting and the work that Fernando Maldonado provided for our family. Our basement was destroyed by flooding and the walls had to be removed. Once the waterproofing was completed, we contacted Fernando who assessed the damage and began his work. He and his team were always on time, communicated well and made great suggestions regarding the best methods for returning the basement to its former status. Fernando replaced drywall, baseboards, and removed popcorn from the ceiling which was an added bonus since he was already doing the work. He primed and painted, refinished the stairs and added carpeting on the stairs. In addition, he suggested we update the lighting fixtures which came with the home in 1976. The project was neatly done and was done on time. It looks better now than before the flood! The prices were reasonable and all accounting of money spent for supplies was presented to me for verification. Additionally, they have done pressure washing, gutter cleaning and deck repair/painting which really made the house look almost new again. I've been slightly delayed getting this review posted as we just finished moving. We had Fernando and team paint a large portion of our 6000+ sqft home in Bristow, va., including 2 story foyer and family rooms, prior to putting the house on the market. They did an outstanding job on the paint and very meticulous with every detail, especially around critical areas such as door knobs, hinges and windows. The house is 20 years old and was showing some signs of wear, to include nail pops and the occasional crack. They made the entire space look brand new and I credit them for helping us get a contract on the house in 3 days after putting it on the market. All of the prospective buyers felt the house was in brand new condition and loved how nice everything looked, especially that first impression coming into the 2 story foyer. I recently hired GD1 Painting to paint a couple of rooms in our house. Fernando and his team were on time, courteous, explained everything, paid incredible attention to detail, took care to protect everything before they began work, and left the area spotless upon finishing a terrific job. I was so impressed that I immediately hired GD1 to power wash the exterior of the house, stairs, and deck. When they were done, the house looked all but brand new. I had a small drywall and paint project. GD1 was fast to respond. They came in a bit high on the price but were willing to negotiate and I went with them over other bidders because they had good reviews. They did a good quality job skim coating and priming the drywall in my entryway and patching/painting the walls in my living room. They showed up when they said they would, they did the work within the time they said they would and it was quality work. No complaints, would work with them again happily. read more
