This place was such a nice free surprise off the side of the freeway on the drive from CA. to Vegas! I learned a lot of history, saw some intriguing and inspiring sculptures, and actually learned a lot of new things I had no idea about or wouldn't think would be here. The whole park is funded by volunteers and educates people on the China Communist Party and the devastation communism provides. There were even parts along the fence with Chinese signs and notes about people who had been prisoners or died from communism. It will really send a chill down your spine. Take a nice walk along the park, read some signs, learn something new, and take in the beautiful (and tragic) sculpture art. Thank you for this park, funding it, and your desire to educate others and really better our world one viewer at a time.

Built in 2017 by a Chinese-born New Zealand sculptor, this outdoor sculpture park is dedicated to promoting democracy and commemorating victims of communist regimes, particularly those in China. It's free to enter and is located right off of I-15 in Yermo, which is about halfway in between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It is also less than a mile from EddieWorld which is the largest gas station in California and a popular stop in the area. They don't have a parking lot, but you can literally drive right in front of any of the sculptures, there aren't any walking paths or any kind of structure. Just please leave the site better than you found it. The theme is anti-communism and the art itself is very unique. I would classify it as modern art and a lot of the pieces have a lot of detail to them. It's a really fun roadside attraction, which were a lot more common when Route 66 was in its prime. I would recommend checking it out and especially being free it's really worth a stop. Just don't leave any trash or anything on or near the sculptures and enjoy.

As I am an American of Chinese descent, this park is meaningful personally. The murals and statues show an important part of world history, and mirrors many stories of families escaping Communism in China going to Hong Kong and elsewhere. There is a also a nod to the struggles for freedom in America with a Statue of Chief White Horse saying: "freedom should not be dictated by any people". As well worldwide struggles for freedom as there's a mural stating "free Syria". It comes on very, very strong in it's message of "No Communists", from the moment you enter the park. CCP Virus statue was burned down, and the rubble was left with a sign and CCP Virus II was built next to it as a symbol of resilience. Art is supposed to make you think, and this is a great place for reflection, especially with the shaded pavilion built. It looks like it's continuing to grow due to new construction and the help of donations and volunteers, interested to see what's to come for the future. Great free stop on the way to Vegas.

We noticed the sculptures as we were exiting the freeway to visit Eddie's world. I did a quick GPS search and discovered that it was a free sculpture park. It kind of looks like you're driving onto someone's property, but have no fear. Some awesome person has put the sculptures out there for your enjoyment. This is a thought provoking drive through art installment. You can also park your car, and you should, so that you can read the descriptions of the art. You need to get close to see the details. Also, drive or walk around each sculpture to see all the angles. We enjoyed our little offroading adventure. The art was well thought out. We appreciate whoever did this and highly recommended to the next people who drive by wondering if they should stop.

Liberty Sculpture Park is a nonprofit sculpture park located in Yermo, CA. This is great thing to see on your way to Vegas. It should take you anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to see all the different sculptures. The sculptures are all having to do with freedom and the fight for it and protest of communist china. The park is on 36 acres of land where the founder protests the Chinese regime with his art since 2016. There's a Tank Man Sculpture, CCP Virus, and other sculptures. I became aware of the CCP Virus Sculpture being burned down in the news approximately two years ago. There's a second version of art installation now called CCP Virus II. The charred remains of the CCP Virus I still remains on the property.

Definitely learned quite a few things here! Nice little stop in the desert, located just across the small street next to EddieWorld. Free to drive around or walk through it. Sculptures and statues are made by Weiming Chen and gives a history and overview of Chinese history beginning with the Tiananmen Square massacre. You'll also find Chief Crazy Horse and a Covid-19 display. Take the time to read the signs and examine the art, it is really all very interesting and even a bit eye-opening.... but definitely quirky and cool. Needs some fixing up and tender care, but it's quite interesting. Free, drive or walk around through it.

Looks like it's going to be 117 in Las Vegas on Sunday. I don't care, I wish I'd be there. Anyway, nothing makes you appreciate 110 degrees or however the hell hot it is where you live like 117 does. If you are driving across the beautiful Mojave desert to Las Vegas on the 15, this place is right across the street from Eddie World and well worth checking out. Updating my review to add photos. It goes like this: It started years ago with the giant 64. Every time I'd drive by on the way to Las Vegas I'd see the silver 64. Over the years the park grew, sculpture by sculpture, but at first it was just the giant 64. Yes, I thought, finally a monument to 1964!! It made sense. 1964 was a very important year. Consider some of the people born in 1964: Emily Litella, Jack Ma, Eazy-E, Chris Cornell, Kamala Harris, Barry Bonds, Keanu Reeves, Courtney Love, Lenny Kravitz, Stephen Colbert, Eddie Vedder, Jeff Bezos, Wanda Sykes, Rob Lowe, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Yeardley Smith, Tracy Chapman, Sarah Palin, Nicolas Cage, Biz Markie, Michelle Obama, Duff McKagan, Chris Farley, Russell Crowe, Hank Azaria, Cedrick the Entertainer, Tom Morello, Courtney Cox, Boris Johnson, John Leguizamo, Melinda Gates, Trisha Yearwood, Janeane Garofalo, Rev. Run, Marisa Tomei. And consider some of the important events that happened in 1964: 1964 was the beginning of The British Invasion. In America, the first Beatles LP was released on January 20th, and by February 1 the band had their first #1 record on the singles charts. The band arrived in America on February 7th, and appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show on the 9th. On February 25, 1964 a young boxer from Louisville named Cassius Clay knocked out Sonny Liston to become the Heavyweight Champion of the World. Nine days later he changed his name to Muhammad Ali. In March 1964, the first Ford Mustang rolled off the line in Detroit. Ford thought they'd sell about 100,000 of them. Within two years they sold a million Mustangs. The Mustang has been in continuous production since 1964, the longest produced Ford car model. On March 27th, an earthquake hit Anchorage, Alaska. It was the most powerful earthquake ever recorded in North America, a 9.2 magnitude event. The city was devastated, and 125 people died. One of the weirdest sitcoms of all time, Gilligan's Island debuted in the fall of 1964. (Full disclosure, I am often mistaken for The Skipper. I find the resemblance unsettling). The Nobel Prize for Peace was awarded to Martin Luther King, Jr in October 1964. In December 1964 the SR-71, Lockheed's famous spyplane made its first flight over the high desert in Palmdale, California. So, yeah, 1964! One hell of a year, right? And then I find out this place isn't about 1964 at all. The big 64 represents June 4th, the date of the infamous Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989. Dammit! I hate when this happens! I had already written this whole review about all this cool 1964 stuff and the stupid park is not even about 1964. Ok, that's not fair. The park is not stupid. I was just a little mad about writing about the wrong thing for about a damn hour. The park is actually pretty cool. It's cool, but it's not the easiest park to enjoy. You can only catch a brief glance if you are northbound on I15, you can't see much at all from the southbound side of the freeway. Although you can get a better, if only fleeting, view as you exit the freeway to visit Eddie World, to get a good view you have to go off road. The entrance is directly across from Eddie World, at the corner of Calico Rd and Telstar Ct. I posted a photo of the street sign with my review. The dirt "road" to the park is very rough. So rough you might think, why the hell didn't anyone tell me how rough this damn road is. Well, I just told you, partner. Despite the fact that I initially totally misunderstood what this park was about, and despite the rough road I mentioned, the park is well worth a visit if you have some extra time on the way to Vegas. I'm finishing this review with a tip of my tinfoil hat to 1964's Barry Goldwater: Mikey C says: extremism in the defense of comedy is no vice, moderation in the pursuit of satire is no virtue.

Stopped here when traveling east towards Las Vegas. Lots of photo opportunities. Be careful where you step, there are hundreds if not thousands of anthills around. Who else knows what forms of nature live near by.

Interesting location full of historical sculptures and tragic stories of communist China and the government. We drove our car around to each. More information can be found here - https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/63111.

What an interesting place. Located next to Eddieworld the entrance can be found using google maps routed to Liberty Sculpture Park in Yermo. The entrance is obvious when you actually get there and you drive up a dirt path all the way up to random sculptures. It's definitely pretty interesting and worth checking out real fast if you're otw to Vegas. In and out probably 15 minutes and you just park randomly close to each sculpture and walk around if you want.

The original was burned down by a CCP agent.

Read The earlier yelp reviews for info on this park. Interesting viewpoint of the Covid/Coronavirus and statues of various struggles under Chinese Communism. The rough dirt road needs some work: park and walk if you don't have a 4WD/All Wheel drive. We first drove here in our 1975 Jaguar, road would have damaged the undercarriage. So we walked the park in 113 degrees ( July) . Not a good idea . We missed the donation sign, otherwise would have contributed to them. Spend a half hour and read the signs, enjoy the Artwork.

Bust in Time 36-acre plot of privately-owned land right off the edge of Interstate 15 that houses a small collection of statues and sculptures. One of the owners,Weiming Chen, is a Chinese-born dissident and artist who states the purpose of the area is to "...champion the human desire for freedom and condemn the oppression of Chinese communism." The Good: *Admission is free but you can donate thru some posted PayPal® and Venmo® links. *Def one of the more interesting roadside attractions we've encountered and it has a good message. *There's picnic tables available if you want to make this a rest stop. The Meh: *No Restrooms but Eddie World gas station is not too far. *Driving area is an unpaved dusty, dirt lot. Which I don't mind but just saying don't expect your car to leave clean. The Ugly: *One of the sculptures titled "CCP Virus"--which essentially blamed the Chinese government for The 'Rona®--was burned down. Highly suspicious... TLDR: If you love weird, quirky things then this is a def must-see.
