Two da ago. My car gives up on me, and the Last thing you want to find out that your vehicle doesn't start in the driveway, and you can't leave for a significant commitment. I called my insurance company Safeco for road assistance help, and they commented on me with this company. It was little frustration, but when I called the front desk of Liberty Towing in Riverside office, half of my frustration gone when she responds politely and explain the procedure. After 30 mins, I received a call from Gerdins that I am on my way and will be there in 10 mins. Meanwhile, he was concerned if I am ok and safe. That was very thoughtful of him. He shows up in 10 mins check the battery and fix the problem in ten mins. He was very kind and knowledgeable about cars and car-related issues. Gerdins was kind enough to check tires and take care of the low front tire, which I didn't know. I would like to say Thank you to Gerdins and Liberty Towing company for coming over right away and helping us out. Highly recommended, and thank you, Safeco. read more

I have USAA insurance and they have a contract for this company to tow members vehicles. So around 12:30pm I find out my vehicle is dead in my garage, I try to jump it with my other car and it doesn't work. Called dealership and they said bring it in. Called USAA who contacted Liberty and sent me an automated text message at 12:49pm stating Liberty Tow was advised and had an ETA of 1hr (1:49pm). Their phone number was also provided. 1:55pm - Called Liberty, was told 25 more minutes. 2:30pm- Called Liberty, told another 25minutes and the driver would call me direct 3:07pm- Called Liberty, was told 'oh the driver was suppose to call you', he's on his way. 3:14pm-Driver Thomas from Liberty calls, says he's stuck on the 60fwy and will be about 20 minutes. 3:49pm- Driver arrived, towed my vehicle to my dealership making it barely before they closed and thus leaving me without a car for the next day since I then had to leave it overnight since it was so late in arriving. So 3 hours before they showed. 2 hours more then original ETA. I called back USAA and voiced my complaint and sincerely hope they drop their contract with the company. read more

I called AAA and they contracted Liberty to help me with my two burst tires. I initially only waited about 30 minutes from when I called AAA at 10:30pm and the first guy who came to fix a flat was nice, but not what I needed, so he called back to the office for a tow at 11pm, I was told someone would be there by 11:45 pm. I called at 11:50 pm to ask when I could expect the tow driver and was told he was about 5 exits away and to wait 30 more minutes. At 1am-1:15 am I called again and waited on hold for 10-15 min to then be told that the tow driver I've been waiting on has a flat himself and I would have to wait until a driver came from Anahiem to Riverside. I cancel the tow and called a different company that arrived within 10 min of placing the call. I would never use Liberty again. read more

Unfortunately, feel led to add my review to the poor service I just received. Stuck on the side of the freeway for nearly 2 hours, 4 calls to get updates, receptionist was unprofessional to keep it polite. Was told our assigned driver would call us, multiple times this happened with no call until they assign a new driver who ends up passing out location. Needless to say, very bad response time, lack is communication to all parties involved and bad time management. Liberty Towing gets 0 STAR rating. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. They were on my street. The tow truck driver came out to tow a vehicle from a residence. The vehicle to be towed was in the driveway off the street. The driver had prep work that had to be done before car could be pulled on flatbed. There was no front right wheel on the vehicle. The tow truck driver was a young kid with tattoos all over his neck. He spent at least 25 min after I pulled up working on the car in the driveway trying to put a wheel on the vehicle without a tire on it, all the while completely blocking the street from emergency vehicle access and blocking our right of passage to come and leave our homes. This street was a cul-de-sac and there was only one way in and one way out. There were four cars that were waiting to get by. We all waited over a half hour before the tow truck was moved. The tow truck driver had completely blocked the street off. He refused to move the flatbed truck while he was in the driveway working on the car. I missed a doctors appointment and had to reschedule. I honked and asked him to move politely and he ignored me and continued tinkering with the wheel. I honked again five min later and he turned and threw up his hands and said, "what the fuck?" After the incident and we were all free to move our vehicles I called Liberty Towing in Riverside and spoke with the supervisor there named Eric. He refused to acknowledge the behavior of his tow truck driver and how he illegally parked in a public street completely blocking homeowners from being able to leave or return home for over a half hour. He refused to acknowledge that his driver should've done all the prep work to the vehicle to be towed in the driveway first before blocking the roadway and restricting access. The transmission went out in my car which is a 2002. As it turned out, not only would it not go in reverse but it wouldn't go in reverse in neutral either. My mechanic troubleshot the car on the phone before I called for the tow. So a flatbed was sent and it was no problem getting the car up on the flatbed. But Juan, the tow truck driver, was genius in getting the car situated on a side strip of my driveway using 2 chocks to slide down the car little by little.... Because remember the car would not move backwards in any gear.. He was extremely careful. It started out as a bad day with my transmission going out, but I feel a little more optimistic after watching such expertise in towing my car back to the house while we set up an appointment for a transmission service. I requested for roadside service from state farms and they assigned freedom towing. This is the worst towing company possible. I was given an eta of 1hr but they came in 2hr and 30 mins. When I called in to followup on the status they kept lying to me that the driver will be there soon. The guy on the phone is EXTREMELY RUDE and unhelpful. You can tell he just wants to hang up the moment he picks up the phone and keeps cutting you off in the middle of a sentence. They kept lying to me about the time over and over again. It's one thing if it will take longer than expected, but it's another thing when they keep lying to you over the phone and promising you false times. read more

When I called, a kind lady(sorry I forgot your name) helped me out to schedule a pickup. She had a great sense of humor which helped lighten the mood since I was already bummed that my car was not working. Gerdins was the guy who picked up my car who has great customer service like the lady. He assisted me and was detailed oriented. To the employee who keeps promising uncertain ETA's to the other customers just be frank with them and let them know how busy you are instead of keeping them waiting. Waited 2 hours and 5 minutes just to get a $5 gallon of gas for my car after I ran out. I was told originally that I had a 1 hr wait, which seemed high just for some gas, but so be it. When nobody arrived after an hour, I called dispatch to find out what the holdup was. I was told the driver was on their way and would arrive in an extra 15 to 20 minutes. They never showed up after another 40 minutes of waiting so I called back to find out that they were still 20 minutes away. During this time I received a text message saying they were only 19 minutes away. 30 minutes later I get another text saying they're 10 minutes away. So that's four separate times this company either lied to me or is so incompetent that they can't get an ETA right without being off by more than a factor of two. I finally got service 1 HR 5 MINUTES LATE during which the tow guy told me he'd only received a call from dispatch 30 minutes ago. So either nothing was going on behind the scenes for 1.5 hours and dispatch was lying to me, or a driver decided they didn't feel like doing their job that day and just left me hanging. Either way, dispatch didn't feel it was worth their time to notify me of the delays without my having to call in. Save your time and money by using a company that actually cares about their customers. I will say that the driver that showed up was nice and apologized for the wait. read more

My experience was horrible. I waited 1 1/2 hours, and nobody had came. When I had called back to see what happened, they told me they supposedly came to me twice. The person I was talking to was very rude, invalidating my claims despite being true and STILL being stranded on the road, even going as far as to claim that I was lying and that she allegedly had a signed invoice and pictures to "prove" it. Abandoned me without telling me. I was involved in a collision in Riverside, CA and my insurance company contacted Liberty to get me to a body shop. They originally quoted one hour and $80 out of pocket to get me to my preferred body shop. An hour later I called and they quoted another hour. One more hour and they quoted yet another hour and $180 out of pocket. An hour later I called my insurance company again and Liberty claimed I had declined the tow. This was a complete lie. My insurance company called a different tow company who came and got me. Because of Liberty towing I was literally standing by the side of the road for six hours. I have urged my insurance company to terminate their contract. read more

I got a flat tire today and my insurance put me in contact with Liberty Tow I explained my situation and told them I didnt have a spare and it was my back tire that was flat. They told me they would get to me in 40 minutes- 1 hour. After 1 hour and 15 minutes the driver called and said he was 10 minutes out. He also asked what tire was flat and again I repeated what it was and he told me that he was unable to tow me because it was the back tire and I needed the bigger tow truck. He said another would come in about 20 minutes. Another hour passed and no one showed. I called another towing company and they were able to get to me quickly. By the time my car was on the tow truck, Liberty was barely calling to see if I still needed their services. I am very upset with their lack of professionalism. Come to find out the dealership told me they could have towed me home because I have the premium roadside assistance and my car is new.
