I lost my car key at Evangola State Park today and called Liberty Yellow Cab.They took my information and told me they could have a cab there in 20miniutes and told me they would call when close.After an hour passed I called and they told me they could not get me a cab to this area.I asked why I was told 20 miniutes and was told it must have been a mistake.I asked to speak to a manager and was given no satisfaction and thanked him for wasting my time and letting him know I will never use this service and will take to every form of social media to let it be known what happened.I am discusted!! read more

Absolutely the most unprofessional and incompetent cab service ever. I've called multiple times for a cab in the morning and they send you a text confirming that a cab is assigned for pick up. I've been waiting for almost an hour now and each time I call they tell me different things. The third time i called they assigned another cab and was told it would arrive in ten mins (its been 30 mins now), I called again and they said the cab is 3 mins away (its been 20 mins now). Had the most horrendous ride of my life. A driver was quick to arrive however his seat was all the way to the back of the van, which made it quite difficult for us two to get in the back seat. The driver than confirmed where we were going. I noticed that there is no meter on his dash. He then proceeded to speed off. Speeding the entire time. Windows down (30 degrees outside) and rap music blasting. When we asked if he could turn down the music he was clearly annoyed and continued to speed. We actually got out earlier than our stop because we were afraid of getting into an accident. Will never ever call these people again. read more

I left my phone in the cab by mistake, kept calling it hoping the driver would pick it up. It had a full charge so I knew it wouldn't die. They turned it OFF. I called this morning hoping that he turned it in, guess what ! he Didn't. The driver was not pleasant said his meter broke down and would only take cash. Unprofessional drivers. I was picked up by a driver and was heading to my destination. 5 minutes later I received a call from another driver that he is there waiting for me. I told him I already been picked up and started to have a bad feeling. Once I got to my destination, the driver threw out a number, $26 dollars. $26?!! I took the same trip 1 month back and only paid $18 after tip. He didn't even use a meter, and when he went to swipe my card, he had his own square trade linked up to his cellphone. He just pocket all my money to himself, huge scam. Never again am I using liberty cab, that was the last time I would ever take them. If you do take them even after reading my review, please make sure they are using meter or give you at least a flat rate before they start driving you. read more

Worst taxi company ever. They hire drivers that don't know the city, are rude, and refuse to honor flat rates. No matter where your starting location is the driver is always "15 minutes away" which can actually take up to two hours (which has happened to me twice). I really want to like Liberty, especially because we don't have Uber here but the service this weekend was completely unacceptable, to the point where it was borderline comical! Ordered a cab from them 3 times last weekend. 1st time: Had 6 people, specified we needed a van, they sent a car first, had to wait for a van to finally show up. 2nd time: Asked to be picked up at the corner of Allen St. and Delaware St. in Buffalo. They sent the cab to somwhere on Delaware Rd. in Kenmore. 3rd time: Requested a van to go to Canalside downtown, 2 Vans showed up (both Liberty but competing with each other) also, they thought they were taking us to Canalfest, not Canalside. A few days ago, I called Liberty Yellow Cab for a 2 a.m. pickup. Amazingly, the driver showed up within a few minutes of my call just like the dispatcher said he would. It was snowing and the roads were largely unplowed, yet the driver did a great job of getting us to our destination safely and relatively quickly given the prevailing road conditions. I was fortunate enough to be attending an event at KeyBank Center in downtown Buffalo on Saturday April 8th. I knew ahead of time I needed transportation home for the event so I reached out to Liberty Cab on April 6th to schedule a pick-up for the 8th so I could be 100% certain that at 1am (after the event) I was not standing around outside in the cold waiting for a cab. The event ended at 12:45am and I was waiting patiently outside in the cold with my guest that I had promised I coordinated a ride for us. "Don't worry, they are probably just busy, they will be here soon" I had to say for the next half an hour. They had all my information, my phone number to call me, and I even offered to pay ahead to be certain we had a safe ride home. Welp. Come 1:30am and being absolutely frozen I gave up, no call from the company either. We went to find a warm place to grab a beer and call the company and ask what happened. Welp. I explained my situation and they transferred me to a voicemail. I was upset before but now I am very upset. So I called back keeping my cool because that could have been an honest mistake. I explained how the company was now over an hour past my pick-up time and I needed a ride ASAP as the place I was in was closing. They assured me someone would be by in 15 minutes. A 1/2 hour later a cab finally pulls up in front of the bar I am at. Thankfully they kept it open for us. I finally get into the cab and we are on our way. About 10 minutes into our ride I ask why he never called me to tell me the taxi was there. He said he called and nobody answered. I asked what number he called and it was NOT my number. I fear I took someone else's cab that was also waiting. But also very curious is that for the remainder of the evening nobody ever called my number for the cab I ordered days prior. I trusted Liberty cab to ensure me a safe ride home when I needed it. They are supposed to be in the business of providing that service. I am quite angry and 100% unsatisfied with the service they provided. People trust services like this to be responsible for their safety after having a few drinks (as I had) and it keeps everyone safe. I coordinated all of this well in advance of when I needed them and they never showed. The only way I got a cab and hour and a half after my scheduled time was that I lucked into one. To leave someone out in the cold as they did is rude and irresponsible. read more

Had a 5:15am pickup scheduled this morning, using the Curb app. At 5:25AM, the cab had not arrived, so I called. The operator claimed 5:15AM was the dispatch time and the cab would arrive in 15 minutes. The Curb app clearly asks for pickup time and I have the confirmation email confirming this fact. So, I had to wake my wife and baby to drive me to the airport. Terrible service and will never use again. These companies wonder why people want Uber and Lyft, this is exhibit A. read more

They don't even deserve one star. Absolutely disgrace of a company! I reserved my taxi two days in advance for a ride to the airport. They called to verify the day before and I verified that I indeed needed a ride at 4:30am the next day. I missed a call from the company at 3:50am and called back at 3:52am as soon as I realized I had missed a call. An automated message said that my taxi was on its way and would be there shortly. There I sat until 4:45 and finally decided to call and see what was going on. At this point an extremely rude woman answered the phone and I asked if my taxi was on its way and the woman proceeded to scream at me "uh no I've been trying to call you!" I told her no one had called since 3:50 and when I called back an automated message confirmed the taxi was on its way. She rudely said she could "try and get someone out to me in 20 minutes" I told her not to bother and I would just drive myself to the airport at this point. Moral of the story: DO NOT USE THIS CAB SERVICE! After my experience I told so many people about it and they all said they had heard awful things about this company. They deserve to no longer be in service, or seriously look at who is running this business. SUCH a disgrace. read more

I took my son and a friend to a show on a Saturday night. I called Liberty, was told it would be about 20 minutes. About 5 minutes later, the cabbie called me from out front of the house, yelling at me that he was very busy and we need to come down. The cab ride wasn't bad, and the fare was $25, which included a tip. I told him we'd need a ride back when the show was over. He gave me his card to call him. I called, and he showed up within 2 minutes. as he pulled up he proceeded to yell at us that we better get in the cab, he was very busy and it was very busy downtown, he wasn't going to be kept waiting. I didn't understand a word he said. My son translated for me. As we started to pull away, he said he was going to charge a flat rate this time and not a metered ride. I asked what that meant. He pulled over and said it would be $40. I asked what he was talking about. He said we only paid $25 before. I said I know, that was the meter. He kept saying it like it was a bad thing, and it was very hard to understand him. He was ready to kick us out of his cab. He said, "It's only $15 more." I said, "Oh, so I will pay a total of $40?" and he said yes. The boys and I all assumed I would pay only $15. He complained the drive back that it was too crowded downtown. We pulled up in front of the house and I gave him $20, thinking $15 and a nice tip, because he got us back much quicker than he got us to the club. He says, "we agreed to $40." Let me start out by saying I contacted Liberty to transport me home, because I did not feeling like dealing with the Bus after a long tiring work week!! Also because I wanted to get homoe a little earlier. I Contacted Liberty Taxi from work on 2/21/2015 at 8:00pm. I time ordered to taxi, and requested it be there by 10:30. When I got out of work there was no taxi there. I contacted the dispatcher ACE who stated that there was no guarantee for time order service (which he did not). I pointed out that the weather was cold but clear, and there was no excuse for my taxi to have not been there at the arranged time. I was paying cash for my transportation, but I also informed the company that my employer has contract with them and we use them multiple time in a day(spending thousands of dollars in a month) I was hoping for a professional courtesy, but instead I was lied to and disrespected. First ACE stated that he told me the taxi was dispatched at 10:10 then he stated there was no taxi available to transport me, then he stated a car would arrive in 15 minutes. I pointed out that he was contradicting himself, and that what he was saying made no sense all. To which he repsponded I know it doesn't make sense, but what do you want me to tell you. He then ended the call by stating he has a car avialble and it will be there in 6 minutes. 10 minutes came and went, and I got on the next bus that came. It is important to note that the first bus I missed because I was expecting my taxi to show up. The buses run roughly 1 hour apart on the weekend, but and I was still standing at work when the second bus arrived. Needless to say when the bus arrived at 11:07pm I took it. I ended up getting home an hour later than I would have because of this unreliable company. I call medicaid transportation often, and will never ask them to send Liberty Taxi for a patient again, nor will I ever call them for myself! read more

Have been blown off several times by this so-called taxi service. When I call back they are always rude and say the driver was there and basically calling me a liar. Well, I had been standing outside waiting the entire time and I am not blind, so I think I would know if a cab was there. This company is literally trash. I recently paid a driver in cash, only to find out he cancelled the ride after I had gotten out of the car. Did he pocket the cash? Probably. Is that why they have to overcharge customers for their services? Probably. I waited ten minutes this morning for a driver ten minutes away to be assigned to me, only to have him call me and tell me he only takes cash. Not fucking happening, dude. Another time I was being driven by a woman who had one foot on the brake and one on the gas and was braking and accelerating erratically to maintain speed. If I wanted a ride from my grandma I'd fucking call her up and ask her. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior, but since there is no competition they continue to treat customers like garbage. The driver was wonderful but the support staff in the office were rude and demeaning. We left something in one of the cabs on a Friday evening and they told us we wouldn't be able to find out until Monday because lost and found isn't open. It's only opened Monday through Friday. They had no way to get ahold of the driver. Sad sad excuse of a cab company. We had to re-order the cab and cab driver called us and told us he had the phone and returned it. Although liberty is probably the most convenient cab company in buffalo due to the amount of drivers that they have, they've got the rudest customer service reps (probably of anywhere I've ever experienced) and their drivers are a bunch of scammers. Multiple times I have taken one of their cabs in which the drivers don't turn on the meter so they can charge you double (like last night when a ride that has previously cost $5 magically was $10) But my favorite overall experience with them was also last night- when the driver pretended he didn't hear the address- and ran the meter up to $20 for a 1.5 mile ride (from Allentown to a bit up Delaware) and we ended up in the complete wrong direction, a few Miles past our destination. He was weaving in and out of back streets (I'm sure to confuse us as we were intoxicated) My advice is while they're convenient, avoid them when you can. They need to learn some customer service skills, and in the end, you'll probably end up with a cab ride costing 2 or 3 times more than it should. read more

By far the worst. Called them last night at last call because I did not want to drive home. Said it would be ten minutes. Twenty minutes later I called to see where the cab was, and was told it would be ten more minutes. Fifteen minutes later, I walked home over two miles because the bar was now closed and I wondered if the cab would ever show up. If you don't want my money and my business, just don't answer the telephone. I will be telling all of my drinking buddies (and I have a lot) and all of the bartenders that I know (I know a lot of them) to NEVER call this unreliable, sorry excuse for a business EVER. It's like if your unhappy don't be a dispatcher. The cars are Always late I've waited almost two hours for a cab to come mind you they have cabs all over the place. Worse cab service ever! I will never use them again. First you are on hold anywhere from 10 minutes to 1/2 hour. Waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for them to pick me up on a return call. That was Wednesday 3/4/15 when the same day they arrived 1 hour early want wanted me to come right out. I had just stepped out of the shower. Called to complain since the driver couldn't wait. Ask to speak with someone in charge of arranging the medicaid pick up. Left message no one ever called back. Today they were late picking up and I was suppose to return home at 2:00pm ( 3/6/15) waited until 5:00 pm to be pick up then they took me to the wrong address. These arraignments were made on Monday 3/2/15 and rechecked yesterday 3/5/15. I've left a message for the owner to call me back as of now I am still waiting. No stars!! Negative stars. read more

We recently stayed at a park and fly hotel. They were usable to transport us to the airport as we had a motorized scooter. They arranged transportation with Liberty. They were to be there at 8am. The hotel called at 745am and they acted like nobody had arranged the transport. By 815 she called and was told he was "10" minutes away. At 840 he pulled into the parking lot and parked away from the hotel pick up area. We walked over to where he was and he left!!!!!! Never waited or even bothered to look at us as we were yelling to him. So by this time we were in jeopardy of missing our flight so the manager at the hotel used MY VAN to take us. Which left us in a dilemma when returning. I will never call this cab company in Buffalo EVER. read more

I am permanently disabled & unable to walk. I had a guest over my house & my sister was here. My guest needed a ride to work 15 minutes away. I gave my bank card to my sister to swipe the card. She was attempting to get my card back & the Two drivers insisted My Card needs to go with the guest (yes My Bank Card). Now instead of a 15 minute ride, it turned into a hour. $110 charge. I voiced my concerned to Leeza (supervisor) who agreed it was not right. She told me to speak to Jordan (manager) or George (president). Jordan called today, and after hearing occurance would not do a thing. He then put me on hold for 30 seconds, came back to say they can do Nothing! This company's reputation is going severely Down. They now promote they have handicap accessible vehicles, but it's clear they have No Caring for the disabled! Try at all costs to Not have to deal with Liberty Yellow Cab! read more

At that point we called back, were told our original call was never even recorded and a cab was being dispatched now. We waited another hour and called back again; after repeating our name and address we were hung up on without any update or information. Worst experience ever! Poor customer service on the phone. I spoke to a woman and recieved a confirmation text for the taxi telling me 15 minutes until taxi 400 would get me. 45 mins later no taxi. Called again another taxi arrived 15 mins later. He had no idea where he was going and we almost ran out of gas. 10 miles into my trip from work to home at 3 AM he started asking me if I knew where he could get gas.... His gas light had been on for 15 mins BEFORE ge picked me up...awfu and never again will I use them. I give them 0 stars. In some ways, I wasn't sure what to say, because I don't have anything nice to say other than the driver was On-Time with picking me up 75 mins later from Children's Hospital. I say on-time because he called after 30 mins of waiting to let me know he was on his way from Tonawanda to come get me and would be there in 45 mins. I didn't think Tonawanda was a 45 mins drive, even during rush hour taking the city streets. When he picked me up, he has someone sitting in the front seat and they were both speaking arabic or some other middle eastern language. They were having a pretty heated argument about something that was making my 7 year old not very comfortable. When the driver and his other passenger finally settled down, I was reluctant to get in the car because his passenger was half way through a cigarette and he looked far from friendly. I did get in and the driver already had the Meter running and was already at $6.30 or $6.80. hard to tell because the driver had the meter at an angle. I thou The outside of this circa late early 90's crown vic looked in alright condition on the outside, but when me and my kid started getting in, the back seat was ripped really bad and had several stains all over it. Even the rest of the car was not very well taken care of. The top of the back seat looked like it had puke in a couple places that was never cleaned up and the door handles, including the handle to open it had crusty stuff all over it. The drivers' passenger continued to smoke even though I asked the driver if it could be put out as I was in the car along with a child being present. THe other passenger said no. We were still sitting at Children's Hospital Valet pickup. The driver and his passenger started to argue about something that started off really heated out of no where. I finally HAD ENOUGH! They didn't start driving, so I saw that as an opportunity to get out of this garbage can of a dumb. I don't even know why I got in to begin with, probably because I waited long enough and knew if I called another cab it might take just as long, if not longer to get another. You would think they would be more professional. However, they are practically the only cab in town, so they have no reason to change. Well they HAD no reason to change. Now there are many more options available now. There are at least 4 other cab companies in town AND there is also Uber and Lyft! I was excited about that. I don't know why I didn't think of Uber in the 1st place. I would have been home 2 hours ago and they would have got it right. Needless to say I took Uber. If this Cab company doesn't change with all the new competition, they are going to go out of business. read more

I have poured HUNDREDS into Liberty cab over the last year, easily more than a thousand total. They used to vary from speedy to slow to arrive. But in the last four or five months they've gotten much slower. I'm talking about AVERAGE wait times of 35, 40 minutes. I only remember one time in the last few weeks where the guy actually showed up in 15 minutes, and I call cabs from areas of Buffalo which see lots of traffic where a cab would likely be circulating. Generally I call when I have to leave, because if I book in advance sometimes the guy shows up at the time I ask, and sometimes he just starts heading to me at that time, or calls me and says he's heading to me and then shows up 45 minutes later. I do just as well calling when I need a cab. The last straw was when today I called for a cab, a text was sent to my phone saying one dispatched, and I was told "15 minutes." 30 minutes later, I call, give the cab number, and I am told "he's right near you, he'll be there in a minute." 30 minutes later, still not there, I call again, "oh, yeah, you know, it's just really busy today, but he's right outside, just wait outside he'll be right there." I wait another thirty minutes. "oh yeah, we'll send another cab." Note that this was while the weather was still clear. And at 1:30pm when traffic is light. At this point what I'm frustrated with is not the wait time, but the complete dishonesty about it. If they had told me I couldn't expect a cab within 120 minutes, I would have taken the bus. That would have been cheaper and would have gotten me to my destination twice as fast. Or I could have called another cab company that is not liberty / yellow. I have learned my lesson. Never again will I call Liberty Yellow cab. A half hour late? I can afford that. I can afford to book a half hour in advance and spend that time sitting around. I cannot sit around for two to three hours hoping they will be so generous as to have a car actually arrive at my location. They only need to mess up this bad once for you totally miss your deadline, even if you called way early. read more
