Dr. Haugstad at Library Park Dental did my "smile makeover" last year, and far surpassed my highest expectations. I was hesitant to entrust my makeover to just anyone, and I didn't just want to pick someone solely on what their website looked like. I wanted to go to someone who really knew what they were doing, as the results would be visible not just to me, but to others as well. As you can imagine, it is not something you would undergo without extensive research, as it is rather expensive and the results are permanent. After doing my 'due diligence', I entrusted my new smile to Dr. Haugstad and her staff at LPD. I opted for crowns, as veneers were not feasible in my situation. I stressed that I wanted "natural" looking teeth, and not the overly-white, bulky-looking "chicklet" teeth I've seen other people unfortunately stuck with. I did not want anyone to be able to tell they weren't 100% natural, even up close. Bonnie M. gave her professional recommendation as to color, and was with me through the entire process from molding, to temporaries, to permanent crowns. She is definitely the "best of the best", and made sure my comfort and satisfaction were her top priority. Nicky and Erica, Dr. Haugstad's skilled assistants, were there holding my hand (literally and figuratively) though it all. They were able to tell me every step of the way what to expect, what they were doing, and why. To say this office is professional is an understatement. I have never felt so welcomed, and so appreciated by every single one of the staff members from reception, to billing, to the hygienists. Even the waiting room is welcoming. (No blaring talk show on the TV, no dingy office furniture, no random tattered magazines strewn about... they actually have a bookcase with carefully curated titles to browse, and a beautiful oak armoire to hold your coat. Someone clearly put some thought and effort into the office decor, even the seasonal decorations are lovely!) Attention to detail clearly shows in everything they do. Every one of the staff greets me by name each visit, and make me feel I'm the only patient they are seeing that day. Nothing is rushed, and you don't get the impression you are a bother like some of the other doctor visits I've had. I am so glad I decided to chose Dr. Haugstad. She is so accommodating, personable, and fully engaged-- her skill and expertise as a dentist are unsurpassed. Very nice, upscale friendly place. Probably not for the under or uninsured. I've lost one tooth and have had damage to several others due to radiation and chemotherapy. I was exploring my options to save and repair my teeth -implants & caps, a partial plate, a bridge, etc. My consultation (no x-rays) with them was $80., the only office I visited that charged for a consultation, and they were consistently more expensive for services rendered than the other offices I visited. The bid package was nicely put together with all of my options clearly listed. On the up-side, the ambience was calming, the art work was really nice and the whole place was very clean. Later, they sent a Target gift card with a reminder to schedule my appointment, so that dropped the consult down to $55. ??? read more

Because I've moved a number of times, I've seen a number of dentists and dental hygienists. I rate the professionals at Library Park Dental as the best I've encountered. The equipment used by the hygienist makes cleaning my teeth easier and much more comfortable. When something shows up that doesn't look right, they explain the problem clearly and provide ways of dealing with it--along with the pluses and minuses. They will make a recommendation, but the decision is mine. The members of the staff are friendly and yet professional. We started with the practice just before Dr Chiappetta bought it from the retiring Dr Flatley, when it was located on Sheridan Rd. Now, close to fifty years later, we are still patients, even though we moved from Kenosha to northeastern Illinois in 1970. There is definitely a reason why we still drive about an hour one way (two hrs. round trip) to see Dr Chiappetta and his competent staff. Everyone in the office is very friendly; good customer service, which is rare these days. Hygienists are thorough and make sure you are comfortable. I had a teeny tiny cavity and they went with the minimal option at first to see if that worked rather than charging me for some extensive, expensive procedure I didn't need.
