However my insurance was changing and my dental coverage was no longer available. I had an outstanding debt of $97 after paying over five hundred at the time of services. I was unavailable for personal reasons, however, my wife was available and spoke to Dr. Gould often as my kids were in the same school and Boy Scout troop as Dr. Gould's. They put me in collections for $97?!?! His staff tried to help and said he is not involved in the billing so that is why he did not reach out personally. Sending something to collections, does allot of damage to someone with otherwise good credit. It was paid as soon as I learned about debt (albeit a long time after). I now have to go through a massive headache to get this tiny debt removed from my credit report. $97 what's, there take from that after a debt collector get's there cut, something like half? Dissapointed this happened, and of course I wanted to pay anything I owed, now off to work on getting it removed. The collection agency, they use actually told me if the amount was higher they would help remove it from my credit, but this was not enough, so I was on my own. The problem is... small debt not paid looks worse than large debt as you look irresponsible.

I went in for what I thought would be a new patient exam and routine cleaning. I was advised after a review of my teeth by three different people (assistant, hygienist and dentist) that I would need a periodontal cleaning because I had some concerning spots of gingivitis. I was then told it was a fairly steep cost. Due to me being displaced from work, I simply didn't have the money to pay for it right then and there, so no cleaning was done. Fast forward, I end up going to a different dental office due to the fact that they were in network with my new insurance after I found a new job. That dentist reviewed my exam done by Library Park Dental, and I advised him that this periodontal cleaning was recommended by them. The dentist at the new office stated that he simply did not believe it was needed. He could see why there was concern due to some inflammation in my gums (aka gingivitis), but that a periodontal cleaning just wasn't necessary to fix the issue, and even mentioned that he was impressed with how well I take care of my teeth. By the way, that part is true - I am mindful of taking care of my teeth and I take pride in doing so! Anyway, I wanted to post this review in case anyone else was surprised to hear from this office that a more extensive procedure was necessary. I certainly was, and I do feel as though I was misled by Library Park Dental. The hygienist at this office stated that this would be necessary to prevent periodontal disease, which doesn't go away. I am thankful for preventative measures being recommended to me, but when it comes at my expense as a patient, I would hope that this was only recommended unless they thought it was completely necessary. I have no reason to disbelieve the new dentist as his response was honest and forthcoming by comparison. I also want to note that I'm by no means trying to insinuate that Library Park Dental is committing malpractice or anything of that nature - I'm sure they do great by the people that look to them for help. I'm only posting this in case this helps someone out there looking for some perspective, and/or if the practice sees this they can try to course correct.

Everyone is very professional and pleasant to talk to, the facility is clean and beautiful, there are TV's in each dental station where I can watch HGTV or some other show while getting work done, and there is a small play area where little ones am be entertained while I parent gets their work done too! Whenever someone is looking for a new dentist, I always refer them to this location and Dr. DiStefano!

I switched dentists due to my last dentist having a HORRIBLE…read more "bedside manner". It's always a risk when going to a new Dr. However, from entering the office, I felt comfortable and at ease. Dr. DiStefano's staff from the front to back were wonderful. I absolutely loved Dr. DiStefano! I was having tooth pain and she not only made me feel like she cared but that she was going to get my problem taken care of. The solution was a root canal in a tooth that wasn't even hurting. I found it hard to believe but it was true! She explained why that happens and when I got that tooth taken care of...my pain was gone! She is friendly, caring and KNOWS WHAT SHE'S DOING! My husband and (grown) daughter switched over to her as well and we are all very happy we did!
