Let's start by saying that when you find out your children have lice, you start freaking out and, if you are like me, probably end up bagging everything in the house to seal out the pest. Every stuffed animal, every pillow, every mattress, mattress, cover, couch, cushions, even wanting to burn them off. But you can wash and dry them in the dryer instead lol. As for additional treatment, like your actual hair and head, mattress and everything Yanelis came to the rescue. I searched online sites for a lice treatment center or company and wasn't greatly successful. I came across Lice Wiz and saw they had a Yelp review as well as other reviews so of course I trusted it. The updated hours on yelp are correct, they are closed usually on the weekends, however on Maps the old hours were up as open. I took a chance and called her and she answered. She did inform me that she was closed , kudos to Yelp for having the correct information. However, she sensed the urgency in my voice. She comforted me and knows how it can be very stressful for someone who doesn't really deal with lice. I literally caught her in the middle of a beach day with her husband and she was over to our home within a couple of hours and I mean maybe two hours. I really appreciated that. She came with her equipment, a stand, special tools, and some creams. She worked quickly but very efficient pulling back all the strands of hair. She's a pro and knows what she's doing. I am so thankful for her service. After she was done with the treatment on both of our girls, she gave us tips on how to check our children, how to maintain lice, free hair, how to clean certain items in the home that may carry lice and you can't fit into your washing machine. She also has wonderfully scented lice repellent oils and of course her signature hair pick. This was a scary situation for me as I said I'm not used to life but it was made so much easier and relatable and by Yanelis. Your children and your hair are in good hands with her reliable service. I definitely recommend her. Oh, before I forget, she also has discounts for check ins through Yelp which was also applied to our balance !

It is cramped. * I asked the nurse? Tech? If they do the covid swabbing (Masks down, coughing, etc) while we're sitting mere feet away doing hair. YES! The tech looked horrified that nobody told us. As a result, she assured me that she would send someone to my home ASAP. (Nobody came) * I was told (in secrecy?) to use the Hollywood location next time? because the Hollywood store hasn't had any positive testers in 3 weeks!!!! (should I cheer?) * Not a single person in the place (that I saw) had any ppe on other than a simple mask. The majority of the storefront was dedicated towards testing. It seemed like an extremely dangerous situation. We left. COVID TESTING SITE- Not for children I have been to lice troopers in the past (not during covid, though), and although I didn't think that they had the best service (the prices seem to go all over the place- depending on who you speak to and when you call-- in fact, we were first quoted close to $200, and by their third attempt, i believe we were quoted $95). I overlooked the questionable fee arrangements, because I just wanted my daughter and I to be checked before school began. I did not strongly suspect lice, but out of an abundance of caution, I called LICE TROOPERS and decided to make an appointment in Plantation. In fact , I rushed there so that I would not be fined the $50 late fee. WOW WOW! When we arrived at the store, I saw signs advertising same day covid testing, but I thought they were just ads for a different suite. NOPE! Then I opened the door: *What I EXPECTED to see: a clean, airy, industrial designed hair salon type place called LICE TROOPERS that I had used in the past. WHAT I GOT: As quickly as I opened the suite door, I along, with (my too-young to be vaccinated) 8 year old, were suddenly standing shoulder to shoulder in a sea of people crammed tightly into a small barely ventilated vestibule/corridor/ area filled to the seams with people who were clearly waiting for a covid test. Yes, both my daughter and I wore our masks-- thankfully since they're not required down in Florida- but I'm just hoping that it was enough. We ran out of that tiny covid room as quickly as we could. When I got to the car, I tried to look up other lice services (we used a wonderful company before- but I couldn't find it initially). I noticed that almost ALL of the lice removal websites all lead me back to this horrible, and quite scary place. Lice Troopers called us several more times throughout the day. Apparently, all of their stores have both covid testing and lice services. I guess now it's a fiscally good time to join the plague!
