Have you ever felt like a different person inside than what everyone else sees? Ever been told (by a friend) that you look deformed? These were experiences I had after a 3-year battle and losing 120 lbs.! I had skin in folds and felt ugly all the time! Dr. Scanland changed that! I interviewed several other doctors and when meeting with Dr. Scanland I felt totally comfortable! She had a feminine point of view and was very specific and confident in the results we could achieve; and boy did she deliver!!!! At three months post-surgery I was in a bikini for the first time in my adult life. A year post surgery and I couldn't be happier. I can do things I wanted to do before but was too self-conscious to do or just physically unable to do so because of the shape/size I was. I can exercise now and don't flop around trying to do a jumping jack! lol. I have never regretted my decision to undergo a Tummy Tuck. I arrived to my scheduled appointment today and after a few minutes was told that the clinic did…read morenot accept my BCBS of Tennessee (blue network E) insurance. I had made the appointment 21 days prior after having been in pain with a toe issue for weeks. At the time I made the appointment I made sure to clarify with the scheduler that indeed my insurance was accepted and she assured me that they took my exact insurance. So I had gone an additional 21 days in pain waiting anxiously for this appointment and now was told by the office manager/receptionist that someone had made a mistake and that I could not be seen under my insurance. She did offer that I could be seen as a cash pay patient, but I knew that I likely would need an office procedure done and I was not in a financial position to pay cash for that. All in all, the office manager was rude, the person who scheduled the appointment did so in error, and I was seriously inconvenienced and left in pain. Update: I have just now received a phone call from Dr. Pacheco who apologized for the error and has offered to try to get me on a colleague's schedule next week who does indeed accept my insurance. I appreciated her phone call and hope that I can be seen elsewhere next week.
