I called in a panic when we discovered lice. It was awesome that someone came out so quickly, and were very friendly. But during the 2 hours it took she contradicted her own advice several times, and told my daughter she also had lice but never showed us the 2 she said she found. She gave us a follow up sheet of directions, most of which was very different from what she told us. She said we could call her and gave her number- over the next 3 days I called her twice and the company twice. I have yet to receive any response from anyone. We will see if this works and I may update this if things improve, but for the amount of money (about $350) you'd think we would have at least gotten the comb she used, instead of being told where to buy one at 9:00 that night when she was done. (Not sure why she had to oil everyone's head to check- you can inspect for lice without that.). Praying this treatment works- you end up doing a lot of aftercare yourself. I also just read the receipt they sent, which states they oiled hair and removed nits and lice- true. And it also said hair was washed, dried, and remaining lice and nits were removed. All completely False. So I downgraded my review from 2 stars to one. read more

Please read all of this message as I have updated it below Convenient- yes. They will even send a pleasant technician the same day. When you start having problems on day 8- they offer no advice or suggestion. I was asked to comb her hair, place the nits/ eggs and lice on a paper towel and take a picture. Funny, they are willing to send someone when you are paying $175 for the first hour and $100/ hour after that. On day 8 when you need help- they send no one! This service is simply olive oil and a complete waste of money. I must say I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from one of the owners today who was willing to hear my concerns and address them. I was pleasantly surprised to get this call and am so grateful to her for out reaching me. She offered guidance on the phone as well as hearing my frustrations with the follow up actions of the person who triaged us on the call. So..it's Saturday night, my husband's out of town, and I give my 3 kids a bath. Afterwards, I'm combing their hair and on one of their heads, I see a bunch of brown spots on the scalp and think to myself "I JUST gave them all a bath!! What is all of this dirt?!" After a closer look, I see something moving and then it dawns on me. I panic, and then start looking frantically around while examining the rest of their heads and, you guessed it...OMG....LICE! This is my worst nightmare! After a moment of sheer disgust and right before a total meltdown, I google "what to do in denver if you have lice" and the Lice Doctors website comes up. But, it's Saturday night, at 7pm, and I'm sure nobody is going to answer. Sure enough, the delightful Tracy comes on, and totally assuages my fears. "Coat your head with olive oil and that will suffocate the lice and we will send someone there as soon as we can in the morning (SUNDAY) and pick out all of the dead lice and the eggs." Gross. Disgusting. Vomit. I want to throw up but instead thank her profusely. I don't even examine my head because I'm afraid I'll pass out but am sure that I have lice too. So, my kids and I have an "olive oil party," which they think is a total blast as I saturate their heads and mine with olive oil and then cover their pillows with towels so that they don't ruin their pillows and pillowcases. The next morning at 10:30am, the lovely and talented Elizabeth shows up and proceeds to spend the ENTIRE DAY picking out dead lice and their lovely eggs from my hair, my kids heads and several close friends. She completely educates me about the truths and myths about lice and how to protect your friends and loved ones from these nasty little critters. I realize I will have to coat all of our heads (including my husbands) with olive oil, on and off for the next 3 weeks to really be safe, but it's worth it. Perhaps I'll turn into a Breck hair model. I don't care, just get these little nuisances out of my hair and my life! My husband came home on Monday afternoon and sure enough, after the olive oil test with a special comb purchased with a "lice" kit that I bought at Ulta (per the lovely Elizabeth's suggestion), he was now one of us. I frantically called the Lice Doctors again and sweet Elizabeth came out as soon as she could and "deloused" him before he could recontaminate our home. I have never, ever been more grateful for a company, their staff and their customer service, the fact that they actually answered their phone on a Saturday night before I could have a panic attack, and that EVERYONE I talked to at Lice Doctors was completely professional and totally lovely. I couldn't recommend them more highly and suggest that if you ever find these lovely creatures on you or your loved one's heads, call the Lice Doctors immediately! read more

I would not recommend this service at all. The only reason I give it in star is because the do come to your home. But I followed their instructions to a T and we did not get rid of the lice. When I call back a week and a half later to ask for someone to come out and help again I had to send pictures first to prove we had an issue still. Then was told it was just dandruff and was strongly suggested not to have a tech come back out because I will be charged again! Some guarantee. I went to the pediatrician and it was confirmed that yes we still had live bugs and eggs. My Dr recommend Lice Easy Colorado and we left that appointment lice free after being treated with FDA approved, non toxic, non messy treatment. Which costs about the same AND in same cases you can file with insurance. Save your money and go with the people who will actually support you and not leave you hanging if you still need help. read more

Lice Doctors were great! My daughter's hair is very thick so it was extremely helpful to have help and be guided on how to deal with this if it happens again. I called Lice Doctors and scheduled the only available appointment they had the next afternoon. I left work early, getting home in time for the appointment. The tech left a message 30 minutes prior to the appointment time stating that there was an issue with her tags and the DMV, and if I didn't call back to reassure her it was OK if she was late, she would be sure to arrive at my home on time, maybe 'a few minutes late.' Except she didn't show up on time. When she was 10 minutes late, I called what was apparently her number and she stated that she would be an additional 20 minutes late. I called the 800 number and complained. The person said she would call the tech and find out what was going on. ANOTHER 20 minutes passed with no update from either the 800 number or the tech. I called the 800 number back, and it went to voice mail-I let a message asking whether anyone was coming. I called the tech--she said she had arrived, and she didn't know she was supposed to call me back. Given she was 45 minutes late (and I had no update), I cancelled. When I called the 800 number AGAIN, voice mail picked up--so I left a message I was canceling and leaving a review on Yelp. I am using Lice Magic and will post a review on them next. read more
