Ever since they moved offices the wait time in both the lobby and patient room have gone up considerably. In addition, there are way too many people waiting in the lobby - you can barely find a seat. It appears they are double booking their docs with less time to see patients. Very disappointed! read more

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT go to this office without checking what your insurance will cover!!! I had a referral from my Dr. who I trust, but when booking the appointment there was NO mention about what insurance could possibly cover. I was BLINDSIDED with an $800 office visit. This is a lot of money for a 30 min appointment. From getting out of my car to getting back in my car it was 30 min. I couldn't even finish my paperwork until after we were done in the room. I think the dermatologist was very nice and thorough but NO mention that doing the removal would possibly not be covered by insurance once again!! I would've rescheduled after speaking with my insurance or found a different place where I'm a patient not a number. Please train your staff to mention this in the future. Not everyone has this kind of money hanging around. Very disappointed in this experience. read more

Dr Carol Alonzo and her team have been incredible to work with and very attentive to my needs and well being. Dr Alonzo went over and above to help me maneuver through road blocks with my insurance and approvals for a specialty medication and refused to give up and prescribe a medication that she felt would be harmful for me to use. I have never had a doctor of any sort go to bat for me like Dr Alonzo did in this case. I also really appreciated the manner in which Dr Alonzo explained not only the approval and appeal process but also the pro's and con's of all of the different types of medication that she recommended for my condition. I had an appointment booked for 9/6. They call me and let me know the appointment needs to be rescheduled "for a little later". They tried to rebook for the middle of November. How is that fair to me? I had an appointment and was going to be flexible for their sake, as they are the ones who needed to reschedule. Two months is ridiculous. read more

I quit going to this location 20 years ago because they were not very nice. So I called to make an appointment before I switched to Medicare. The horrible woman who answered the phone was rude. Shel offered me an appointment that would not work and she hung up on me before I could ask for another option. This dreadful human being. It's not healthy for you to encounter. The office staff is unreasonable usually anyhow, and I wouldn't recommend going there. They have all kinds of problems. read more

Dr. Anastasia Benoit and her staff are outstanding. I had a challenging melanoma removed from the center of my forehead where they also had to deal with my being on a blood thinner med. It took several visits, and they were there for me. When the final stitching, bandage and dressing was complete, it was done on a Friday, Dr. Benoit took it upon herself to call me Saturday afternoon to check on how I was doing. I arrived at The Dermatology Specialists ,Westminster office, the office of Dr. Anastasia Benoit in mid- April, 2024. Sitting in her operating room I asked Dr. Benoit's assistants how she performs her stitching procedure since my face was going to require many stitches for basal cell cancer removal. They said she is amazing! Dr. Benoit arrived shortly thereafter and told me the area near my right eye would be quite a surgery. The result was 25 stitches and a black and blue face all of which she for warned me about. Dr. Benoit was very professional and her chair-side manner most comforting. THREE days later I visited my general practitioner for a physical. Sitting next to me he moved closer and closer to my surgery area and to my surprise he looked at me and said "Did Anastasia stitch you?" Imagine my surprise!!!.... A doctor from Boulder recognizing the stitching from previous patients he had looked at. He mentioned that Dr. Anastasia is fantastic in stitching up wounds and if he ever has facial surgery he would go to her. I had the similar response from another doctor a few days later who commented highly on the professionalism of Dr. Benoit's stitching. Dr Anastasia'Benoit's office is professional upbeat and on time. Her skill level and working with Mohs surgery is top notch. I highly recommend Dermatology Specialists to anyone who has needs for Mohs surgery and in particular Dr. Anastashia Benoit to do the removal and stitching. Honest, I would like to score less, but the Dr. was actually very good. It's the business practice that is horrible. I was initially told my cost would be "about $900". I know they can't be exact, but my cost ended up being over $3000. That's a huge gap. Their billing is atrocious. The statements never show your payments nor your progress from the original amount. And then there is the front desk person who is borderline rude. Never a greeting, never a pleasant word. When I inquired about the Elta MD products they have (I use this product regularly), she was simply not interested in helping. Today I went to make a payment only to find that my account is in collections. They don't know why as I have been making payments on a monthly basis, some very sizeable, all very reasonable amounts against my balance. They have to figure out why I went to collections and then call me back. Nobody wants this paid off more than me! I switched dermatologists immediately after the initial fiasco with my billing. I have a history of skin cancer and have had no issues with my new derm practice. read more

I have had the same experience as many others have reported here. I have been a patient of Dr. Carol Alonso since she began with a practice in Stapleton. that is thirteen years ago. I now have a skin infection that is becoming worrisome, and my PC is nagging me to see Dr. Alonso. I called her scheduling line four times. Either the outsourced schedulers told me there was nothing available until November, failed to call me back, scheduled me for Boulder instead of Denver, or offered me an ER visit at a hospital in Denver. My last appointment in the office was attended by a delay of more than thirty minutes while I waited in their reception area for unqualified or incompetent staff to check others in. My visit with the doctor was both delayed and curtailed. I arrived on time. The staff did not perform efficiently or reasonably. My PC asked why in a medically serious situation I could not see my doctor for four months. I have no answer. Susie Spiegel read more

I just called and asked as a new patient when would be the first appointment available, the receptionist told me "first available will be in March" I said in a very nice way "oh my goodness, I was looking something sooner than that but thank you very much" she just hang off the phone. Dr. Burgos was great! Attentive, knowledgable and kind. The office staff was great and were very accommodating when I requested a same day appointment. Dr. Burgos followed up via phone call a few days after the appt. She was generous with her time, answered all questions and welcomed me to call back with any questions or concerns. read more

I wrote a scathing review of this facility that was posted on 12/26/2019. I want to amend it because of something remarkable that happened. My doctor at Dermatology Specialists, Dr. Anastasia Benoit, personally called me to apologize and explained what happened. It seems there was a clerical error in the office so an incorrect report accidentally went to my regular dermatologist containing some inaccurate information. Dr. Benoit has since consulted with my regular dermatologist at Boulder Medical Center, made sure my doctor at BMC has the correct information, reviewed pictures of my scalp post surgery, and wanted to assure me that the scalp looked fine and she would be happy to see me at any time now or in the future if I wanted her to look at the healing process of the surgery. I found Dr. Benoit's call extraordinary. When was the last time you had a doctor call to apologize for an error? Based on her call and our conversation I would strongly recommend Dermatology Specialists and especially Dr. Benoit. read more

I am very pleased with this office. I have worked in the dermatology so knew to look for signs of changing moles. I newly moved from Atlanta , Ga and had not established a physician out here for a skin check. I started to notice a mole changing on my chest and decided it was time to make the leap and get myself to the doctor! I researched Dermatology specialist and say wonderful reviews and I also researched the doctors and was very impressed. I first say the PA Ben and he was great! Wonderful sense of humor and very informative ,but straight to the point! Pathology came back and to my luck I got to see the surgeon, Dr. Benoit and her assistant Melody. They were amazing. They kept me very comfortable and walked me through my procedure. I am grateful to have found them when I did and delighted to say I have establish a permanent dermatologist to proceed with my skin checks and exams. Thank you again for your help!!! read more

The staff seem to mess everything up! The lady at the front desk seems to have an attitude when I am nothing but nice to her. I only went in 3 times and in that process, had a few appointment mix ups. I was supposed to get blood work done, but no one told me they don't do it in their office and that I was supposed to go to a lab beforehand to get it done. Luckily I called them with a fasting question a couple days before my appointment and that is when I found out I needed to go to a lab. I was supposed to get an ointment to put on my stitches when they were removed, but the script was never called in (the lady who took my stitches out confirmed my pharmacy with me before I left though). It was a Friday and they are closed all weekend so I had to leave an emergency voicemail for the dr. He was awesome and put it in right away on a Friday night. The only reason I'd consider going here again is because the dr's are kind and seem knowledgeable. They absolutely need new staff or a better way of organizing things in the office though. Latest thing is I was told I have a balance due and I informed the lady at the front desk that the money already came out of my HRA. She did nothing to help with that though and seemed like she wanted me to pay it right then. I told her I would have Cigna call her. read more

First time here, I arrived 10 minutes before scheduled appointment so I can fill out new patient forms. Took receptionist 10-15 minutes just to check me in & give me the forms as she was too busy talking to a patient & couldn't multitask apparently. Then I filled out the forms ... waited 30 MINUTES & watched patients after me just go in & out. They completely skipped over me & I had to go to the front desk & say hey remember me! I couldn't wait any longer & cancelled the appointment & will NOT be rescheduling. Total rip off. This place charges $75 consultation fees. This does not get applied to the procedures you are doing. I've had these treatments done before at Harvard trained surgeons offices and they did not charge a consultation fee. read more

Dr. Benoit treated me for Basal Cell Carcinoma, which was on my face. It took me nearly a year to get the nerve up to see a Dermatologist. Dr. Benoit had a quiet presence that put me totally at ease. She patiently answered every question that I had, and thoroughly covered treatment options with me. After doing the MOHS procedure, the following reconstruction surgery that she did turned out beautifully. I have to look hard to even see a scar. Came in to have the small amount of acne I had taken care of, Ended up with cystic acne!! Dr. Burgos was really pushing for Accutane when my skin wasn't as bad as it was going to get. I VERY much regret coming here. I also know have acne scarring (that I didn't have before) along with red hyperpigmentation all over my face. THANKFULLY I went to a different skin care facility by the name of Restore and they helped me out way more than this place. Thank you for making my skin WAY worse then it originally was. read more

I am giving this organization only two stars due to the duration of time it took to get my procedure completed and the lack of follow up. Long story, I went in to the Broomfield office over three weeks ago with a bump on my temple which at that time was a lot smaller than it is today. The only date I could get was 9/28 with Dr. Benoit. I called the Broomfield office two times after the initial visit to see if I could get in sooner due to the growth of the bump. No luck in getting in earlier per my concerns. Per the procedure it was identified that it could not be completed as planned and I was needing a ultrasound which I scheduled and completed later that evening. I called the Westminster office two times today which call one said they would put it on the priority list, call two it was mentioned that De. Benoit is not in the office on fridays and that another doctor will review and call me. I am not holding my breath on a followup call. read more

I battle with going here and finding some place else. The physicians are great, BUT the rest of the staff are horrible. It is unacceptable for every single one of the staff members to be so incredibly rude and hold their noses in the air as if patients are peasants. Every single time I have gone they make it so uncomfortable. At first I thought that I was being sensitive, but then I started to have conversations with friends and family members that are also patients about their experiences and each of them had a similar feeling. Whether you leave the building satisfied with the Drs or not... I STRONGLY BELIEVE that the staff is a huge reflection on the entire facility. The staff don't smile, they aren't friendly, speak to you as if youre a peasant in their world, make you feel like you're a nuisance, flat out unpleasant and dont communicate well with one another so everything gets lost in translation. If you decide to see a Dr. I strongly advise you to not get secondary info from the assistants, do not get advice from the assistants and be direct with the dr. read more

As far as medical care by Dr. Alonso goes, I give 4-5 stars. As far as Dr. Alonso's administrative staff goes, I give 0 stars. Express Scripts has repeatedly committed fraud, and Dr. Alonso's staff has contributed to the problems. I have a paper trail--proof--that Express Scripts fraudulently altered an Rx and retaliated against the patient--for mistakes made by either Express Scripts or the dr's office. Dr. Alonso's staff promised to help if Express Scripts gave us trouble--then refused to help. Staff failed to follow my instructions and compounded the error. Staff refused to report Express Scripts for fraud. Staff refused to give me documentation of their interactions with Express Scripts--so that I could report fraud by Express Scripts myself. Staff claimed Amanda left 3 voicemails for us, when our voicemail and our phone company show no records of them. Staff slandered me to Dr. Alonso, and Dr. Alonso believed the defamatory remarks her staff told her about me, without checking the facts. Staff gave me one story and gave the dr another. Dr. Alonso refused to get on a conference call with me and her staff to clear it up. Dr. Alonso started talking about dropping the patient--which sure sounds like retaliation against the patient for reporting errors, omissions, and fraud. Dr. Alonso finally agreed to mail me the documentation, but all the 5-star health care in the world does not excuse failure to act when Express Scripts commits fraud and holds the patient responsible for the dr's staff's errors. I've spent over 2 months on the issue--when it should have been a 5-minute fix. And it's still not resolved. read more
