Almost every single time I have to come here it's frustrating. There's never more than one person handling customers. The line, whether it's only a couple people long or outside the front door, moves at a snails pace. I've literally waited in line here for over a half hour at times. It's just not acceptable..it gives you the same feeling like you're at the DMV half the time..and that's the worst. I've also noticed recently that the cost of postage to send things through USPS is just skyrocketing. Seriously..I've gotten cheaper quotes from UPS..even FedEx at times. I don't understand why their pricing is getting so ridiculous. I know that the postal service has been struggling a lot the past couple of years..but this is not the right route to get things back on track. It's literally just driving your potential customers to seek alternative options for their shipping needs. I've been here twice since I moved to Walnut Hills and I had different experiences both times…read more I occasionally get rid of books online using different websites to find people that want books, so I often make a trip to the post office with a bag full of packages to mail. My first trip was pleasant. There were two very friendly ladies working who chatted with me while she worked on putting postage on each package. I left feeling like I'd see them again and develop a friendly neighborhood relationship with them. Then this morning I went back to again mail packages as well as some letters for work. There was no one at the counter when I entered and the buzzer sent someone up front to help me. The gentleman took one look at my two bags and rolled his eyes. He asked me if they were all individual (what else would they be) and THEN removed the "station closed" sign that was on the counter. He begrudgingly went through my two separate orders and had me stamping my own letters to expedite the process (which I didn't mind). When some other customers came in behind and were waiting he remarked that they must be VERY patient. All I could think was god forbid I mail things at the post office. What was I thinking? I should have sent them with carrier doves. I left feeling like I was treated unreasonably and rudely.

I can't count the number of times I rushed here at 10:00pm to get something postmarked on time. Every time I used their services, my mail got to where it needed to be in tact and on schedule. The staff was always courteous and helpful, regardless the time of day. In the past year, this post office changed its hours. It is no longer open late: Monday-Friday 9:00am-7:00pm and Saturday 12:00pm-6:00pm. That's only an hour later than my local post office (considering the extra hour spent driving out to Hebron.) The whole point of the Airport Post Office is convenience, especially since it's located at the Grand Central Mail Station: THE AIRPORT! Cincinnati needs a late night post office for us business folks pushing the deadline. I hope the post office reconsiders their hours and begins to operate in the evenings again. In the mean time, you'll find me camping out at UPS, paying $40 to deliver a letter that needed to be received yesterday.
