Great place for licorice lovers, especially black licorice lovers. If you really like black licorice, you should get the stuff in the store from Italty that is either only Licorice and Anise or Licorice and Mint (no suguar or anything else). They even sell licorice root. They also sell the non-Black Licorice kind as well as some chocolate. Great place just to browse at all the different types of licorice from different countries. I ordered online and was not happy about what I received. The 'licorice all sorts' were not fresh. The red and blue raspberry "berries" were smaller than the ones I get at a local candy store and had a strange and unpleasant taste. I threw them in the trash because of the taste. We stopped here on our way home from NE and we are so glad we did!! My hubby loves black licorice and he got 2 different varieties. He got a salted German licorice and a Finnish soft licorice. I was blown away by the sheer number of licorice options from all over the world that is available here. Stopped in to get a present for my MIL who is a huge black licorice fan and ended up with a sampler pack and so many others. I couldn't resist! They are very helpful and also give you samples to try. If you love licorice, stop reading and get in here now. If you like licorice, or think you might want to be more than friends with licorice, stop reading and get in here now. If you hate licorice, but like candy, you should probably still get in here because they stock more confections than just the Glycyrrhiza glabra varieties. It was exceptionally hard not to purchase in excess of $50 of candy since if you haven't figured it out I'm apparently a licorice fanatic. But for a neat $18 I left with two packages of All-Sorts, some Finnish black and two packets of Sen-Sen. (Classic!) Even if you don't live in Lincoln, I'd recommend making a special trip for this place. The free samples, limitless options and friendly staff will make it worth your while. And if you're not within driving distance of Lincoln, they ship! All over the world, as a matter of fact... ironically. Just get in there, eat some samples, buy some stuff (it's all super fresh!) and enjoy. read more

What an interesting shop(pe?). They have literally hundreds of different licorice and associated products, most of which are arrayed in bins in front of you with samples at-the-ready. We tried about 5 different kinds, before settling on what we liked, but it should be noted that they have licorice for every palate, from the "strong licorice" european varieties to the "weak licorice" american productions, and even the fruity derivative products therefrom. The only reason I couldn't consider 5 stars here is because when I accidentally wandered past the (poorly demarcated) end of the customer viewing area and into the employees only area, I was roundly chastised and cursed for being somewhere I was not supposed to be. read more

I actually ordered the licorice from their online store. My order: 1/2 lb salty licorice starfish 1/2 lb sugared bears 1/2 lb dubble zout They shipped within 24 hours of me placing the order and it arrived by 2-day mail. They included 2 sample packets piratos pontefract cakes I would have to say the speed and quality of their delivery process as well as including an extra sample ( I asked for one! ) earns them a solid 5 stars. Shipping is expensive but salty licorice is a rare-ish product in the states and this is still the cheapest way to get it online. Product review: So just to be sure everyone knows, all 3 of the products were variants of salty licorice, the nordic ammonium chloride black licorice candy. Tasty, but not for everyone! salty licorice starfish - Just the right amount of salmiac coating! More tingly than salty. If you haven't tried salty licorice before, this is a great place to start. Great flavor and texture. My favorite. Sugared bears - barely any salmiac, and covered in crunchy sugar - just what I ordered! If you're looking into trying out salty licorice, this is NOT a great place to start, since the salt is not noticeable. Dubble zout - Tingly and great! Very strong salmiac flavor. It isn't a type of candy that I could eat a ton of in one sitting, but it is nice to have a piece every now and then. Very chewy, almost rubbery texture ( in a good way). read more

Its odd to me that this place exists. They are very friendly and really want you to try the licorice if you walk into their doors. Its sort of big in the back with a lot of tables and weighing stations, but the storefront is much smaller. Its really peculiar... however the licorice is sorted by country in alphabetical order.
