I adore Lidl's bakery. Fresh baked bread that is better and cheaper than Giant - whose bread is also very good. They also have all sorts of other tempting treats - croissants, donuts, bagels and more. All looking plump and delectable. Then there are the limited time specials. This last time I picked up quality (single harvest) extra virgin olive for an excellent price, and some interesting-looking Italian crackers that were new to me. I had a wonderful time perusing even before I tasted anything! Sure you can do all your grocery shopping at Lidl, but it's these special things I come for. read more

I don't know why this location was listed as closed. It has been open for a while. There is a decent selection of produce, baked goods, meats and dairy. Aldi has a few cheaper items but Lidl doesn't require a quarter for the shopping cart. There are lots of canned items, snacks and ice cream. I like the selection of pizzas. It is worth a visit. I have to go to a different locations because this one has become so filthy, empty shelves specially the produce section, only one checkout open every single time and that's why you never see more than three customers at this particular location. You might not get a shopping cart to shop with at this Lidl. Many of the shopping carts have been stolen and the management refuses to replace them. This particular Lidl looks grubby. It is windowless, pieces of the floor are missing around the store. The refrigeration system makes loud, strange, bovine-like noises. There are no self checkout lanes. There is a uniformed guard always at the door. The Lidl in College Park is much nicer. read more

My new favorite place to grocery shop is just a 3.5 mile drive away! I love Lidl. Why have I never been? I've been missing out for so long! This Lidl is also directly located on my route home from work when I eventually go back. It's new and clean. There were no crowds and there was a lady counting people. It seemed pretty empty. Upon entry, the bakery was right there, calling my name. So my choices! Due to COVID, items were pre-bagged. So I was *forced* to buy four chocolate twists. Same with the croissants. Both are sooo good. So cheap! Everything is cheap! I went overboard and spent over $90, but got $5 off for downloading the app. The salmon in puff pastry pictured below is big enough for four people ($9.99). Delicious. The escargot is a no go. I bought a shower liner for $3.99. Saves me a trip to BB&B. I can't wait to return and peruse the store when I am not in a rush. On Thursday, September 19, 2024 me and my wife went grocery shopping a few times at this specific location. We've never had an issue until I I noticed on my receipt that the cashier charged me 66 tomato sauce which was $.48 each. It came up as $31.68. However, I only purchased 6 NOT 66. I felt that she rushed us and typed in that amount because she literally told my wife " I want to go on my break." I understand mistakes are made, but that is ridiculous charging someone so much for only six items instead they put 66. And when I came back and asked for a store manager, she was very rude and disrespectful. I didn't get her name, but she has dreads or locks and I don't discriminate, but she was very unprofessional. When I explained to her the situation and I wanted to get cash back And she flat out told me I'm not going to give you cash, but I will reverse the payment back into your card so I was able to get my refund. And when I explained to her that her cashier made a mistake because she wanted to go on break, she had the nerve to question me well, how do you know that she went on break and I replied she literally told my wife that she wanted to go on break so we felt rushed and I believe her name was Tonya or krystal. I could be wrong. I asked the other cashier that was helping me give me my refund back on my card. Will it go through right away and how long will it take and the manager came back with another attitude in front of customers right behind me saying I'm giving you your money back what more do you want and I said that this was a mistake that you guys did and her reply was well. People usually noticed this in the store. They don't wait until they leave the store to come back asking for a refund. After her smart comment, I swiped my card got my refund. She gave me my receipt and I told her that next time your cashier should pay attention to what they scan and replied, what did you say and she look like she wanted to reach over the register, and get physical by her body language. But I'm sure she wasn't going to risk losing her job in front of customers. I didn't even get an apology for the mistake that happened. With this experience, I will no longer be going to this specific Lidl. I didn't think that I would have to make a yelp review, but I wanted to get customers attention and beware of what to expect if somebody else went through something similar. I love shopping at lidl for affordable prices, but this location is always out of stock on certain things and their employees are always on their phone even Security seems like they don't take their job serious. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, but I will not be shopping at this location anymore. Very unfriendly grocery store I went to visit the store on grand opening day, there was a long line in front of the tent with the sign " sign up for the newsletter", they give away the little Lidl bags that I just want it for a souvenir. So we got in the line, waiting and finally reached the staff. 1- The man's tone is very forceful, he asked me "last name" " first name" "email address" and " get your pad " ( the Lidl pad ), no "thank you for signing up" or "welcome to our brand new store". 2 - I asked " may I have a bag instead", he said " only when you install the app" , I told him "I am a senior, I don't have a cell phone" behind the mask who could see my face ? just testing him, answered " bags are for people who install the Lidl app" Not Lidl, most people treated me that way when I don't wear my suit and high heel. I wish that they have a sign saying that " YOU MUST OWN A CELL PHONE, in order to get the bag" . But there is no sign, a lot of folks got in line for nothing . It is not about the bag, it is all about the friendly service you received from your neighborhood grocery store. I was hopeful because I love the college park store, but this is the worst Lidl in the area. People that work in this store are unfriendly and rude. The food selection is bad. College park store is way better and worth the drive. read more

We used to live two blocks for a Trader Joes and while losing that proximity is heartbreaking, Lidl is doing a great job of helping fill the brie and dip-shaped holes in our heart (though I wouldn't recommend anyone walk down New Hampshire to get to it!). Lidl is no-frills - I see some complaints about the lack of customer service and while there aren't staffers offering help in the aisles, the check-out staff has always been pleasant on our visits. Make sure to bring your own bags and be prepared to bag your items yourself. The store layout is easy to navigate, clean and bright. I've been to several Lidl's in Europe and was hoping that my first US location would have more imports than it does BUT it makes up for it in kind of random fun items (imitation lobster cakes! frozen escargot! Star Wars Pez dispensers!). Beyond the triple creme brie and shredded parmesan, our favorite discovery has been the organic grass-fed beef. Incredible prices for such quality. The one downside I've found is that Lidl doesn't do the best job in checking expiration dates - so make sure to check especially on dairy items. I didn't realize so much produce was sold in large bags rather than individually. I have no use for 3 lbs of granny smith apples. One kind of apples are sold by the each, the rest in 3 or 5 lb bags. This is too many for 1 person. They should sell single serving produce (apples, peaches, nectarines, oranges, etc.) indivually, not in bulk bags. it's probably cheaper since less labor involved. Also a price scanner for customers would be much appreciated, since often new items don't have labels. Finally, the website is missing many items that are in the store. It's not a huge inventory, the website should be able to keep up with the store inventory. They have tons of salads from The Fresh Side, but none of it is online. The food is good and the deals are great. Wish they had better pet food selection. read more

Went to lidl day before thanksgiving to buy all I needed for thanksgiving. Which included alcohol. My daughter who was helping me unload my cart helped take all groceries out including the alcohol I was purchasing for my guests for the holiday. I am 53 years old, but the cashier would not sell me the alcohol because my daughter put it in the checkout counter. They were very unprofessional and I have never heard of such a thing. She wasn't the one buying the alcohol. This is the lidle located on tryon and Carowinds. The manager basically ignored me when I asked him about this. Very horrible service and now I will never shop there again. And yes, I left all my items there for them to put back. Probably lost about 250.00 in a sale. read more

Cashier was great. They do have great prices but stock was low on things like English muffins only 4 on shelf and those 4 expired on the 30th. Stockers blocked Isles because they put pallets in the center of an aisle instead of to the side. Was unable to squeeze cart so had to turn around also they put these near the only open registers so made it difficult to social distant. read more
