Drinks in our new cups. 26.08.2024
    Trisha W.

This place is hit or miss, heavy on the miss. Upstairs on or near the balcony is our preferred spot, but it seems to always be difficult to get someone upstairs to seat us. Not just in that area, but in general. There is a lot of "seat where ever you like" being yelled in our direction from the bar when they realize we are waiting to be seated. Then after picking a table, we are waiting on a staff member to bring over menus and silverware. Drinks are mostly great, sometimes watery. As for food, if I am anything less than starving the food ranges anywhere from mediocre to okay. 11.03.2025

Good happy hour here. They've got quite the variety of daiquris that you can mix and match. The daiquiri's are okay. I ordered the pina colada and banana slider. The banana slider was way too banana-ey for me. We ordered the fried sampler the scallops and shrimp were my favorites, great fries too. Dunk the fries in the smoked habanero sauce or add it to some ketchup it's great. This place is two floors with ample seating in and outdoors. The service was quick. Great place to come after the beach.

This location has a great 50 percent off for happy hour, but will be pushy about upgrading. I did not eat here, but probably wouldn't. The bartender was very nice and fast. I would be the outside seating is nicer than inside.

What a great place to grab a drank. A ton of frozen drink options (like 50) and there were even great options for beers or other cocktails. We came during happy hour for the half price frozen drink deal. We didn't get food. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. Cool vibes, open to the street. Lots of TVS. I saw they even had an upper level. This location is just as cool as the location in siesta village. Plenty of seating. Cheap street parking. I was impressed!

This place has a surprisingly good Shrimp Po'Boy, along with other very nice features. Daiquiri Deck definitely specializes in daiquiris (frozen concoctions made with rum). They have a bunch of pre-mixed flavors, and then a large number of combinations of the pre-mixes. You can get a daiquiri in a variety of sizes, and optionally purchase your own cup in a variety of sizes. I enjoyed a couple of different mixes. My bartender, Lucas, patiently explained the whole system to me. (I was there when it wasn't very busy, so he seemed to have the time to linger with me. I joked with him that he'd been my lecturer for Daiquiri Deck 101.) He urged me to consider adding a "tooter" to my drink; this is a plastic colored test tube with some additional vodka Both The Karen (described in the menu with "No complaints here!") and the Mangorita were tasty. (A daiquiri doesn't have to be overly sweet.) I added a tooter of coconut rum (from Siesta Key Rum, which was quite yummy both sipped directly and added into the daiquiri. I wasn't really as optimistic about the food, having once visited another Daiquiri Deck when it was incredibly busy and so loud that I could hear my friend talk. At that time we'd ordered some food, but I remembered the visit more for the "atmosphere" than for what we ate. However, this time I greatly enjoyed my side Caesar salad, small nappy-hour plate of coconut shrimp, and Shrimp Po'Boy. The salad was crisp and tangy, worth ordering again. The coconut shrimp was plump and surprisingly spicy, although it came with a nice tarter-ish sauce that cut the spice to a moderate level. I was disappointed that the Happy Hour version I ordered only had three shrimps. But it was okay: I had the Shrimp Po'Boy, too! As my readers know, I'm always in search of an excellent Shrimp Po'Boy. They tend to vary a bit, ranging from the mediocre and mundane to the outstanding and original. This one combined an excellent buttered and toasted french roll, a sprinkling of romaine, a nice chipotle aioli, and fresh slices of ripe tomato with some very large, perfectly cooked, juicy shrimp with a breading that was almost an exact replica of what you'd get at a standard New Orleans po'boy shop. It was really good, although I took off the red onions (!) it came with, and was surprised to discover that the roll had been sliced into too, and not cut into a "hinge" like a traditional po'boy. The sandwich came with a really good snappy pickle (which in the future I might chop up and put in the sandwich). I tend to want my po'boy more spicy than the typically come. This time, I ordered a side of hot buffalo sauce (that which they use for their buffalo shrimp appetizer), and I definitely enjoyed a bit of it dabbled on the top of the shrimp. Then, I noticed a group of three hot sauce bottle behind the bar and asked for them. The three present a very enjoyable variety of different mildly hot hot sauces (fruity, smoky, and ghost peppery), any of which could be shaken on a po'boy to good effect. (I might choose the "Fruity Fusion," maybe with a few drops of the hot buffalo.) About half-way through my time at the establishment, the upstairs, where I was, was closed for a private party, and I moved downstairs for a while. The downstairs is definitely less "civilized" than the upper floor, with more people there primarily to drink. The bartender, Lisa, was great, but didn't really have time for Daiquiri Deck 102. I felt bad for the families that came in and had to sit amongst the somewhat loud crowd. (Families would be much happier upstairs if there is that option.) My bill was a bit higher than I expected, because I ordered one of my daiquiris in a really nice stainless steel tumbler and because I might have ordered another daiquiri or two. Upgrading a tooter also adds some cost, but I'd recommend it for anyone who likes the taste of craft spirits. I would say the whole experience has erased, in my mind, the memories from my first visit to a Daiquiri Deck. I'll put the one on St. Armands, and probably the others, on my list of go-to places. And you should definitely go and try the Shrimp Po'Boy with a little extra heat. (Order it with no onions and a side of buffalo sauce, or try the bottled sauces.)

Came here as a casual side trip while visiting Lido Beach and it was just what we wanted. Pros: Ample selection of daiquiri flavors and the ability to mix and match. Happy hour is every day from 3pm to 7pm which is prime beach time and an amazing deal. I ended up getting pina colada, mango, and watermelon and my wife got the sweet tart. It was such a refreshing break from a hot day on the beach. They also have a wide selection of comfort foods that can curb your hunger after running around on the beach. The blackened mahi bites were well seasoned and fresh in flavor. The environment is large and has plenty of spacious seating. There is out door seating with good air conditioning Cons: its a 10-15 min walk from lido beach but not that big of a deal. Overall this place gives you what you want on a casual day at St. Armands circle. Daiquiris and comfort food! It has quick and reliable service and a great place to take a break during your beach day.

Simple burger & fries which was really good

One of my favorite spots in St. Armand's circle for a quick bite and happy hour. The server was attentive and my food was cooked to my preference.

Fun daiquiris with lots of options. Highly recommend coming here during happy hour (3-7pm) for half price daiquiris (and other specials). We sat at the bar and the service was great. Attentive, fun bartender who wasn't overbearing. Would have loved to sit outside on the deck, but was too crowded when we came, but overall still a nice atmosphere. Upstairs is seating, downstairs is seat yourself.

My group got the chicken with guava/banana/mango, burger, coconut shrimp, and conch fritters. I thought the chicken was very very good. I really liked the flavors and the chicken was very juicy. The burger was good as well. The coconut shrimp was very coconut heavy, less so shrimp. They were good, though. The conch fritters were also pretty good, but nothing mind blowing. For desert, we got the guava mango cheesecake and the key lime pie. Both of these were amazing! The cheesecake had a great guava flavor and the key lime pie tasted so good and not artificial at all (which some restaurants definitely do.. yuck!) Overall, decently good meal! The server was very attentive and the inside had lots of seating. I made the reservation for here and it didn't seem to get too packed throughout the time we were there. (Chat gpt did not know to recommend it for butter chicken in Sarasota, btw.) It is off on the end of one of the side spurs off the circle. I ordered mango salad and husband ordered butter chicken. We shared. Salad was very fresh, cucumbers and tomatoes were carefully seeded, lettuce cut in bite sized pieces and tamarind dressing was light and delicious. The butter chicken was sweet and unctuous, served as large chunks of mostly dark meat chicken that you cut up. It was fan-freaking-tastic. Waiter was so very friendly. He and his dad opened in November. Tan tan martini (vodka and guava) was made spirit forward per request and balanced out the mildly spiced, rich butter chicken. Dad is the chef. Dining room has big windows that look out on the street. White tablecloths are so welcome. It's cool and soothing inside. Much better than the loud places on the circle. Highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner!

The pita was so soft and delicious that we had to order a second helping. Finally, for my main dish, I had the Spicy Seafood Paella. I could not make up my mind because that curry sauce was amazing, but I wanted to try something I hadn't had yet on this trip. I'm so glad I did! The paella was so well seasoned and packed with flavor. I do wish it had come with a little more shrimp, but everything was absolutely delicious. We were a large group, and the service was still 10/10. I cannot wait to go back and try more of their dishes.

Not before the FST show…read more (GOSUB to the **** for the meat/burger of the review ((smile)) ) I have reviewed about 30 restaurants in and around Sarasota since 2021 when we moved down permanently and are members of the FST. On this Friday night, nothing was going right. My wife was delayed at school etc. So then a delayed departure from Venice, a false stop at Mad Moe's for a burger in Osprey (PACKED) and then a direct shot and parking across from FST we hope for a quick burger or something at the bar or restaurant at FST? But it was PACKED and they weren't serving any more???? We threw our tickets in the trash because now we could not make it back in time, (( frown :-( )) So a walk to Main Street to see if Patrick's or anybody might have room for two? NOPE. and we were walking along and THERE WAS BREWSTER's GASTROPUB!!!!!!!!!! For some reason I have 128 restaurants on my Sarasota Favorites list and Brewster's was not on it? I checked them on as I entered??? Looked VERY full at the bar, and most tables were full but it looked like we had a shot...... and there was a four top high-top!!!!!!! WIDE OPEN!! I think the no table service might be the delineator. We weren't looking for a sit down "dining" and full service gig. Nor did we need the overhead and pomp and circumstance of a host/hostess, army of bus staff, a waitstaff and being waited on with drinks and water and etc? ******** We came to EAT GOOD SIMPLE FOOD and have FUN. **** And that's what we did!!! "Todd" at the bar was friendly and fantastic. All the bartenders and staff were helpful and friendly. The "security guy" when he saw me at the bar for about 20 seconds helped me get some ketchup. Zone defense and team effort!!!! I got the signature Brew Burger and a side of Street Corn and had an endless glass of water w/ lemon I think I had Todd fill about 5 times. My wife and I bantered about what the Street Corn would be and we were happily surprised with the authentic Mexican Street Corn (elotes?) on the cob with a stick and a delightful creamy Chile, garlic, and Cotija cheese sauce I think. (problem is we gobble them up before we could figure out the exact sauce composition here. BUT it was very tasty. 10/10 The burger (for this adult usually nutritarian plant-based eater) was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. A wonderfully fresh an warm brioche bun, fantastic angus burger, cheddar and a "secret sauce" . I got lettuce onion and pickles which are standard...... this was VERY VERY VERY tasty. only quip is I will opt for sauce on the side and its was a little too much sauce. This was mega and uber better than some greasy Five Guys or Smashburger or any of that stuff. 10/10 My wife got the Shroom & Swiss Burger that had a wonderful portobello mushroom on it nicely cooked, terrific angus burger properly cooked exactly as we ordered it, she loved the blue cheese perfect amount, She also felt a bit TOO much of the secret sauce, but its pretty tasty so not a catastrophe. This was also an AWESOME burger!! 10/10 The sweet potato fries were not crazy greasy and perfectly crisp but not crunchy for fries - good, cross-cut and obviously bulk bag. Cut or sliced would be nicer but of course not expected, its a side. 7/10 The place is clean and glassware and silverware perfectly clean. The counter/bar service is fantastic. I had to make a few trips for ketchup and place ware and etc but hey when your wife gets one of the better vodka cranberry w/lemon and club in a large tumble for $9 instead of $15 or $16 for a 6 oz martini glass with 4 oz of watery drink........ its a home run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With all the TVs and sports that is probably the summary of my review. Brewster's Gastropub is a Grand Slam for food and service......and especially burgers!!! Bravo Zulu.
