Gilbert shouldn't be in customer service or a manager, what a horrible human being. Had my receipt and Lids bag from a day ago. Recently tried taking back a couple hats that didn't fit right. Bought several hats from other people at the store with no problem. Recently bought a hat from Erik and curved it for me, told me not to try it on til it cooled down. Wrong size hat. Went to return it the following day and Gilbert refused. Also refused another hat I never wore bought for a gift from family. He said can't help you. Very unhappy experience. Gilbert has horrible customer service and made my experience with Lids a very bad one. Will never buy another hat from Lids again. Gilbert is the Devil ! read more

I came in for some hats for my son's little league. Chris helped me customize them and I couldn't be more grateful for his patience and attention to detail on the customization. He took the time to explore a few different layout and color combos with me and then took the time to remove any errant threads and clean the stitching between letters. But my first visit here was to check out their deals on baseball cards since I just recently got back into collecting after nearly 30 years, other than picking up an occasional pack here and there. Good prices but a very limited selection on display at the sells counter. So I grabbed a pack of Topps Heritage and was back on my way. read more

Do not purchase any hat from this lids. My mom took my son here to buy a hat for me for my bday. They took the price tag sticker off ONLY and gave it to me with a gift receipt. They got the wrong size. I brought the hat back the very next day, and was told they wouldn't exchange it because there is a tiny amount of white dust on the inner black lid that goes against your forehead. I did attempt to put the hat on when I received it yesterday so that's the ONLY thing I can think of that caused it. The employee that is working at first said I was lying about getting it yesterday, then said he didn't care and wouldn't be exchanging it with the correct size. It's has been in my possession less than 24 hours and the entire time sat in a gift bag in my car. read more

Horrible customer service. Damaged my son's team hat. I took my son's baseball hat (uniform hat) to LIDS to have his name embroidered on the back. I told the worker/manager I wanted it on the back. He repeated it back to me and I saw him write "back" under location on the form. He told me to come back in 30 min. When I did I saw that it was on the side not the back. I reminded him it was supposed to be on the back. He said, "My bad! I'll fix it." I asked if it was going to get ruined and he said no not at all. We came back 30 min later and it was indeed ruined. You could see where the stitching had been and there were holes all over. Definitely not game day ready. I told him I needed a replacement hat. There weren't any exact matches there at LIDS but I found one that was a close match. Still, I wasn't sure it would work because it wasn't the same as his uniform hat. At any rate, I thought it was the right thing to do to rectify the situation. He said he could only give it to me if I gave him the damaged hat. Why does he need the damaged hat? I said I didn't feel comfortable with that because it now has my son's name on it. He refused to give me a replacement. He did give me a refund on the failed service, but I still have to go buy a $20 replacement hat. read more

First time in and I got an official Yankees cap. My cousin wanted to buy me a graduation gift and had his heart set on this. Had to with because I didn't know my hat size so it kind of ruined the surprise but I didn't mind. It's more fun when you go to the store. They have a great selection and a customer loyalty program that offers discounts when you are a serial hat buyer (which I am not). I like to worn in look for my caps. I do recommend this place for serious sports fans that want the real thing. They can even embroider your name on the cap if you want to go full-nerd. read more

Got a couple hats on Sunday and one wasn't the size it said on it. It fit bigger, wasn't true to size, so I didn't take stickers or labels off (never wore) and figured not there fault came wrong from factory but when I went today to exchange for identical hat in my size they said they couldn't because they didn't now how to do it cause there was no manager around and to come back tomorrow that manager would be in. All I wanted was to swap for same hat in correct true size. My time is worth a lot to me and I don't have time to be coming back and chasing people around. That isn't good customer service. I get paid $100/hr. Are you going to give me a $100 bucks for existing my time and gas ? Shouldnt have someone there that can't do a simple exchange or return with out manager there and if so maybe a manager should be there. I give 3 stars cause of good hats and selection but no stars on service. read more

Tried getting an embriodry done on a hat during the so called 50% sale if you get the embriodry done charged me full price for hat and embroidry when should have been half off and gave me the run around that the hat wasnt on sale even though the sign said so then gave me an attitude about it. walked out on them never going back again read more

Let me start by saying customer service is awesome.. The store is organized and clean and the associate I dealt with truly was helpful. I came in looking for a hat when I saw they also offer embroidery service. I picked a blank hat and the associate (Faris) and I created a design and printed it. During the printing process the machine seemed to continuously stop and require resetting or re stringing and such tedious efforts. that would drive me crazy but Faris kept his cool and probably re strung it 20 times to finish the design. This lids is very lucky to have someone that cares about the stores well being as well as the customers. I'll be back for more hats soon. Thanks Faris! read more
