I had purchased a home in 2023 from a seller that used liebo builders in 2020 to do a re-roof. A year after moving in there where shingles that were sliding off the roof. It was clearly an installation error caused by overdriven nails as a 5 year old roof should not have falling shingles. Hoping to get them to stand by their work I called liebo to see if they would warranty it. Every time I called I got a "I'm busy I'll give you a call back". After attempting to get them to come look at their work several times I ended up hiring an actual roofing company to come fix their mess. As a new homeowner I put my trust and a lot of my savings in Liebo Builders, and when I say I wouldn't use them again, I mean I'd rather have a 6 year old take a crack at home renovation before I use this company again. I want to make it clear up top: this is a review of our point of contact and the owner of the company. The guys who designed our kitchen and built it did a phenomenal job, and I hope they are treated with more respect than we were. I could write a college thesis on everything that went wrong with the project but I'll stick with the two main issues: asbestos and overall attitude. We had a full kitchen remodel on our 1950s home. When it came to removing the popcorn ceiling, we moved to my in-laws house as we were told it would not be safe to stay in the house while it was removed. Once it was removed we were told it was safe to move back in. After a week of being back in our house (which we were told was safe to stay in) our HVAC broke. We had an HVAC repairman come out who explained that there were exposed ducts and that my husband, myself and our dog had been breathing asbestos all week. He was shocked that anyone who works in construction would deem the house safe to live in. To say I was furious is an understatement. Upon reaching out to our point of contact at Liebo Builders to inform him of the situation, he explained that it was not his guys who "cut" the duct, but that it was removed. He was focused on semantics rather than the issue at hand. My husband reached out to the owner of the company, we left a message with the receptionist stating that asbestos had been found in our home and that it was important that he give us a call. To this day we never received an apology (because that would be them admitting guilt) or a call back from the owner of the company. The final major issue I'll discuss it overall attitude. Our point of contact with the company (and I have screenshots) called me hostile and passive aggressive for asking questions like "what's the difference between a range hood and a microwave hood?" This was after our project was weeks behind schedule. As someone who has worked in customer service since she was 15, comments like that would've resulted in termination. Since our point of contact is the cousin of the owner, we knew there was no point in complaining, especially since we never heard back from the owner regarding the asbestos incident. When it came to choosing our baseboards we were presented with two options. I asked which one was cheaper. Our point of contact responded with "It's on me, but remember that when it comes time to give us a review." Our job ended up being $32,000 OVER what we were quoted and they wanted to buy my review for the cost of baseboards. It's also worth noting that we were told upfront that all work is done by the company's in house team. Their plumber and electrician are subcontracted. Feels like a silly thing to lie about. I wish I had more time to discuss the beer caps that were discovered in my backyard, the personal items of ours that were destroyed during renovation, or the wrong countertops that were installed but I think what I've provided gives a clear representation of the company. If you have money to burn and time to waste, Liebo Builders is the company for you. read more

Called to get an estimate on a project - they offered a senior discount. Apparently to qualify for a senior discount - the senior needs to have their child present?!? Wouldn't come out to meet with the sole owner of the property unless their child was there?!?? This is called AGE DISCRIMINATION. Judy says - this is company policy. For the meeting/estimate- they wanted all owners present. And if a senior, bring your children....... sounds like a timeshare meeting to me. When asked why - Judy says "because 99.5% of people when alone will say they will need to talk to their spouse or children". Appears you should be ready to make a decision on the spot- they don't like anyone talking to anyone to make a decision. Called back and cancelled our appt. told them this is discrimination- ended up hanging up on us. It was Judy that took the call. read more

Neighbor's plumbing leaked throughout our shared wall. ServPro did remediation by removing all the damaged drywall and floors. LieboBuilders were able to start the rebuild within a week of ServPro being done, and completed the job quickly, with the only delays coming from permit inspections that weren't passed because of the extra requirements in a shared building. They were very flexible as the scope of work changed as ServPro was doing remediation. Project manager was Ruben and he did a good job recommending tile and vinyl floor finishings and communicating via text and over weekends. read more

RUN! Don't walk when you hear the name LieboBuilders (LB) . The pictures on their website is nothing but a smoke screen. We hired them to do a full bathroom remodel on the 2nd level of our home which included a curb-less shower. They lack experience, knowledge, and expertise to complete the project. They cut down all our floor joists between 2.5 - 5 inches and assured us it was to code. They tried to cover it up so the inspector would not see what they had done. Their work resulted in a failed Building and Safety inspection because they compromised the support of the floor. Hot Mop failed inspection 3 times (puddled water, blocked/absent weep holes) and refuses to fix it. Initially, Joe (owner of LB) gave his workers the wrong floor plan resulting in repeated plumbing and additional damage to wall studs. Didn't start Demo until over one month after signing contract and receiving deposit. Plumbing not lined up and plumbing placed where shower doors will be anchored leading to repeated work and delays. Joe sends framers to do plumbers job. Joe took workers off the job because we were taking pictures of the work being done in our home, another delay. Multiple delays in service due to repeat work and failed inspections, no call/no shows, etc. They brag about the company having more than fifteen years of experience when they have only been in business for a little over two years according to the CSLB. Joe does not adhere to terms of contract, requests payment for work not completed, has poor customer service skills, is rude and refuses to take ownership for his companies mistakes and failures, and records owners conversations without their consent violating privacy. Since LBs major screw up with the floor joists, Joe has been trying to cancel the contract, return our money, and leave us with a mess someone else has to clean up with the stipulation we don't leave any negative reviews about his company and drop other complaints. As a result, LB has abandon our remodel project and left it in worse condition than it was before. We don't want Joe to continue doing this to others. Don't trust Joe and LieboBuilders. RUN! RUN! RUN! as fast as you can. read more

I am very satisfied w/ their work. ILYA was my project manager. He was very attentive throughout the job. We had water damage from the shower where some grout had dissolved and water was coming thru the wall and some mold had developed. His workers removed the damaged drywall and set up a machine to "air out" (in my words) the bathroom while it was taped off. 48 hours later a separate company came to take an air sample to confirm the mold was gone and the bathroom had "dried out" properly. (We received a copy of the email from the separate company confirming the mold was gone.) The new drywall was installed, painted and the grouting was re grouted and a sealant was used to help prevent this issue from recurring. Also, the bathroom door on a separate bathroom needed some paint on part of the door. (Cosmetic issue.) A company that did work on that bathroom about 15 years ago didn't sand the door first before applying the paint which needed to be done. I showed it to ILYA after the work on the other bathroom had started hoping to get the paint scraped the reapplied in that area so it would look decent. He said he would check with the owner and see what he could do. (I was hoping they would throw that in.) When his worker showed up the next time he said the owner approved it at no additional charge. Great! He removed the door and sanded it properly and painted it. (Took about an hour and a half.) He went beyond what I expected to be done. Although, the mold removable was done in an afternoon (less than 4 hours) which I thought would be more work, so maybe it balances out in the end. Also, thanks to JUDY in the front office for getting our project off to a great start. She seems to keep the office running smoothly. read more

Our master bathroom turned out great -- it feels like a beautiful hotel spa now! The Liebo guys, especially our project manager (Ruben) and foreman (Oscar), were very knowledgeable and great to work with. As can be expected with any remodeling project, we encountered a couple hiccups along the way -- but both Ruben and Oscar demonstrated integrity and worked diligently to resolve them. We're really impressed with how organized and professional the Liebo team was: the mocks that Josh created helped us envision the finished product; all of the guys wore masks and cleaned up the workspace at the end of each day; and Ruben was in constant communication to keep us informed of next steps. It was a positive experience for us and we would definitely use Liebo again. read more

I would Never, EVER recommend this company. I got my appointment day mixed up and sent a text to reschedule only to be texted back by Judy that my appointment day was tomorrow NOT today. I apologized for getting my days confused and asked if I could reschedule possibly for Saturday. Judy texted back that my appointment wasn't even confirmed because I never answered questions and "We are closed are Saturdays!!!" With that reply I cancelled my appointment only to receive several UNPROFESSIONAL text messages from Judy. Bye then!!! We don't need you anyway!!!!! I then called the company asking to speak to the owner and was told no one was there. I then called the number on my texts and asked for Judy. I was told I was speaking to Judy but she never texted me. I had her email address and I KNOW I was speaking with Judy. The woman on the phone was shocked I had actually called back. I asked again to speak to the owner but Judy said she was the manager and there was no one else to.speak to. I have been in the Plumbing industry for 36 years and I will be contacting the Contractors License Board with my complaint letting them know I feel harassed and threatened over a simple roofing estimate. I was impressed with Joe's knowledge and just felt at ease with him. Pricing was comparable to other estimates that I received, but I felt like I could trust Joe. He really set my expectations well, he told me that dealing with the city could take some time (which it did lol) but once my permits were approved Joe and his team were on site every day 6 days a week, the process was seamless, I met with Lauren the designer, she helped me purchase all my fixtures. The office shared with me a timeline and communication was really pleasant. The ADU took about 8 weeks from starting construction. A company is only as good as the people that work for it. Ruben Hoffman gave us an estimate to remodel our bathroom that fit within our budget and was significantly better than the 2 other estimates we got. Everything was removed from the bathroom to the bare walls. The existing tub was replaced with a walk-in shower with tile to the ceiling. The large vanity cabinet and new fixtures were installed. The result is a beautiful bathroom that we are not ashamed of our guests to use. Yes, there were a few problems along the way, but Ruben made sure corrections were made promptly and to our satisfaction. I would not hesitate to do business with this company in the future.
